ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS

In this section of the business plan, we studied about the different factors in the
environment (internal and external forces) that affects or may affect the business that we will
start and run. This section includes the trends nowadays who may greatly contribute to the
new ideas of products that will be patronized by the consumers in the near future.

Each individual has different needs and wants and as we see such important factors
this serves as the way to come up with new products and new ideas. People’s needs and
wants should be the first thing to consider, this will be the basis of what product is needed in
the particular area. We must not also forget the laws and regulations in the locality where we
will put our business. Laws were implemented to be followed and to organize the society’s
ordinance.

Global Analysis

Philippine tourism is boosting and continuously growing as the tourists love the
sceneries and islands of the Philippines. One of the richest municipalities in the country is the
Mariveles in Bataan. Aside from its industrialized community, its natural sceneries attract
local and international people all over the world. With a lot of tourists passing by, tourism
worldwide offer foods that reflect the culture and traditions of the local people of the
community. Along with the emergence of modernity, innovation on foods is very evident
nowadays.

Trends affect the food industry. Fast food restaurants are adding “healthier options”
on their menus as public health policies are pushing for foods with lower sodium and sugar
intakes. The political factors affecting fast food industry can vary from country to country.
Compliance is of utmost importance. Globally, the fast food brands have to comply with
these requirements. There are regulations related to wages, hygiene and food quality that
need to be complied with. The minimum wage standards can differ from country to country.

Here in Mariveles,Bataan this establishment has a great opportunity to expand and to

be well known since it is located to the tourist spots in the locality. Its product will be
beneficial to the tourists and citizens, providing jobs and economical trade to the government
sector. People will patronize this business since it presents nowadays trends.

Societal Analysis

Mariveles is an area where the local citizen’s source of income is either fishing
aquatic species or working at the local economic zone. As they are currently working for a
living, most of them don’t have enough time to make their own food even got a chance to
cook frozen goods. That’s why this business will be very popular to the area. Giving and
providing the needs of the people and at the same time earning profit.

After being amaze to the beautiful and historical places in Mariveles such as the
Death March and Camaya Coast, tourists will seek for a place where they can buy things that
came from the Mariveles, Bataan or what we call as souvenirs. Bataan’s Food and Trip offers
the best foods and delicacies that were proudly made by the citizens of Mariveles. We also
offer souvenirs such as t-shirt; printed with the visitors desired images and texts, personalized
mugs and plates and tumblers.

Industry Analysis

Customers Analysis

The people of Bataan specifically in Mariveles had come from different places around
the Philippines with varying cultures and traditions. Some came from the neighboring
provinces while other came from the farthest island in Mindanao. Seeking for peace and
searching for a place to stay. Moreover, some people already live their lives at the town and
consider it their home.

Being an industrialized town with lots of agricultural lands, people tend to come to
the area for the opportunity and hope for a better life. The population is continuously growing
according to statistics that some of the people of Mariveles build their houses far from the
civilizations. The area of Mariveles is now a successful town wherein people go and stay for
good.

The town had been one of the richest town around the Philippines. Different factories and job
opportunities are can be found but it gives people limited time for themselves. Some of the
people did not go back to their home town for vacation instead they spent their time working
to earn money. It is to the extent that they had forgotten some traditions and cultures of their
own town. They also do not have enough time to cook at home that they tend to have the
breakfast, lunch, and dinner outside where the food could be immediately serve. The foods
served have already been influenced by modernization and cultural domination that the
people of Mariveles tend to choose the American and European style of food instead of our
own. The children nowadays on the street shout for the burger, French fries and ice cream, all
came from the foreign country, as if it is the best food to eat. As if it is the tastiest among all.

Mariveles National High School Camaya-Campus

12- General Academic Strand
Furthermore, children no longer recognize some Filipino dishes originated from our country.
People no longer remember the taste of the Filipino dishes because it is not available. Some
people even go to their own provinces because they had missed some Filipino food that they
have been eating in their younger years.

Mariveles also have a booming growth in tourism since the discovery of different
mountains to hike and beaches to get them refresh. Many tourists around country visit the
province during vacation and feel the fresh air of the area. They spent time wandering and
exploring the area but it is much convenient entertaining if they do not just experience it but
also taste it. Every culture in our country was represented by the foods unique to a certain
place. Since Mariveles is a home of varying cultures, there is no specific food that we could
offer. However, people of Mariveles can offer much more than we could expect. Different
people mean different knowledge, different cultures and so our shop tends to give people the
convenience and availability of different foods from Mariveles. Thrilled with different twist
to make the servings tastier and worth remembering for.

Competitors Analysis

Mariveles had been a home for different people with the dream of success and nice
job. Most people become factory workers and so Mariveles population grow and
continuously growing. Along with the growth of the number of its residents is the emergence
of different businesses. Different services and products were produced. It is for the benefit of
the people living in the town.

Different fast food chains were established. The most well-known is the Jollibee
which is considered as the most popular fast food chain in the Philippines. It has over a
hundred and twenty branches all over the country. It outnumbered the branches of
McDonalds in the Philippines which is considered as the best fast food chain internationally.
One of the branches of the Jollibee was located at the town of Mariveles that it had been the
most wanted and popular for the people of Mariveles. They serve food influenced by the
western countries where it technically originated. French fries, hamburger, spaghetti, and
fried chicken are its main dishes that offer the taste of western food. This is one of the
reasons for the reduction in the Filipino dishes serve at the town.

Recently, a lot of restaurants were built that around the town including Pasta
Boulevard, and Elongs. They serve food like different dishes including lasagna and bulalo.
Restaurants indeed make variety of dishes that would suit the taste of the Filipinos. Some
restaurants offer European style of foods like lasagna, carbonara, and different dishes with
pasta which are adjusted to catch the preference of the consumers. Some restaurants offer
Filipino foods like sisig and bulalo which bring the people back to the times when cultural
domination is still in its seed. When the Filipino foods were enjoyed by the people of the
country and were available almost everywhere.

Pamilihang bayan ng Mariveles is the place for many vendors. It is where clothes,
shoes, accessories, school supplies, movies in cd's, and different foods are sold. The vendors

12- General Academic Strand
offer Filipino foods such as kakanin, puto, kutsinta, bananacue, and many other were offer
along with the foods influenced by innovation such as French fries, shakes and burgers.

Along the pamilihang bayan of Mariveles, different street foods vendors sell their
product outside the market. An estimated number of almost fifteen street food vendors were
at the market to sell different street foods for the people. These include fishball, eggball,
kikyam, kalamares, hotdogs, burgers, potato fries, barbecue and a lot of others that many
people would love to eat. Street food vendors can also be found along the people's park of
Mariveles wherein a lot of people meet and come together for some events and important
occasions and programs.

Many karinderya also surround the town. At any barangay in the town, karinderya
offer home dishes that is loved by Filipinos. Karinderyas are can be seen almost everywhere
especially near the factories and other work facilities. And also around the barangay in small
houses, it can be established for the sake of the neighbors. These dishes are called lutong
bahay as it was cooked by not so professionals but are cooked by those who cook at their
houses. The foods are more like the dishes serve at the house like adobo, menudo, nilaga,
pritong isda, and many other more.

An arcade was also established near the Mariveles National High School Poblacion
located at Brgy. San Carlos. The arcade offers foods for the students like biscuits, junkfoods,
and streetfoods like eggball and lumpia. They also sell coffee jelly and different flavored
juice.

Many other businesses were not included but considered as a competitor for the new
emerging entrepreneurs at the industry.

Market Positioning

Restaurants, fast food chains, streetfoods, and arcades are of a great challenge for the
aspiring entrepreneurs since the town of Mariveles is already an industrialized country
wherein many people are staying and would love to enjoy the service of the businesses. At
the current status, average people chose to it at the karinderyas during lunch breaks. Students
buy foods at the arcade after the classes. Many people go to fast food chains and restaurants
for different occasions and with different reasons.

These competitors are already established and are commonly wanted by the people of
Mariveles. The foods they serve are suited to the taste if the residents from the Filipino dishes
to western inspired ones. However, these businesses are very popular and available at many
other places. The foods they offered are the same with lots of restaurants and fastfood chains
and streetfoods all over the country. Just like Jollibee which has a lot of branches, many
people already have tasted the dishes because it is also can be found at many other provinces.
Streetfoods are also a nationwide kind of foods that there is no uniqueness to the product.

The (name of the business) offers the traditional foods originated at the town to give
the customers the taste of our native foods. These foods are available at the town but can be
bought at different places. This one stop shop business will offer the original dishes from all

Mariveles National High School Camaya-Campus

over town and add some twist with the product to make adjustments with the taste of the
consumers. This will serve as a great experience for all the customers.

Many people especially the people of Mariveles will love the business since they had
come from the different places around the country. Exploring the town while eating will be a
better experience. Aside from eating a delicious food, they could also be aware of the town's
different cultures and foods brought by the different people. It also offers knowledge for
those who love studying the town.

Market Strategy

Mariveles is a huge town with a lot of people living in it. The best market strategy for
this business is making a brochure to promote the business. Brochures must contain all the
dishes to serve but highlighted its main dishes and specialties. It will be distributed all over
the town to make the people aware of the business.

Secondly, posters will also help tie entrepreneurs to spread the information regarding
the business. There are a lot of lampposts and walls wherein it can be posted for the people
passing by to read. It must contain cheerful and catchy words to persuade people and also
have pictures of the dishes with colorful backgrounds to catch their attention. Contact
information must be clearly written along with the location and the name of the business was
highlighted.

The tourism department could also help the entrepreneurs to have tourist customers
especially that the business offers unique foods that could explore the whole town. The
department of tourism may refer the tourists to the shop as one of the important destinations
in the town.

In more innovative way, the best way to promote a product is through advertisements
in social media such as facebook to let the netizens be aware of the business. Facebook is a
wide range social media that connects people from far places. This will help the
entrepreneurs to promote the business not just for the Mariveles local people but also to those
people outside the town to try the foods offered. These advertisements can be posted or
shared through facebook to help fasten the dissemination of information about the business.

A free food taste during the launch of the business will also help to promote the
business. This will give the entrepreneurs the chance to let the customers judge the product
and its taste. This will make the customers aware of the delicious taste of the foods that will
convince them to come at the shop.

ORGANIZATIONAL PLAN

Form of the Business Organization

Bataan's Food and Trip shall be in form of a corporation.Nevertheless, factors affect

the selection of the business are the following.

1.Capital Requirement

The capital will come from Virginia Valdez that invest her 1 million pesos to the
business as the start up in running the business. This is usually expressed as
a capital adequacy ratio of equity that must be held as a percentage of risk-weighted assets.
Since the common capital requirement for the business is around more than a million, 1 000
000 pesos would be compress to the possible needs and not for just beautification but for the
most priority needs of the business, as it grows fonder, additional capital would be added.

These capital requirements include all investments you need, before this business
starts. In practice, these are all expenses in the first month of Bataan’s Food and Trip
business. Classic examples would be notary, counseling or real estate brokerage costs. The
startup expenses have to be considered. For most startups, revenue in the first few months is
not sufficient to cover the cost. Moreover,  the capital requirement for the startup phase is
equivalent to the minimum of the cumulative monthly cash surplus and cash loss.

2. Liability of the Owner

Limited liability company that is planning to expand its financial services to a

specialized audience—cultural creativity. Separate from any of its owners, managers and
employees. As such, it offers a high level of protection to its owners’ personal assets. When
this corporation incurs a debt, none of people involved with the corporation are personally on
the hook for its payment. When corporation liquidates, it uses the corporation’s assets to pay
them, and the creditors are not able to force the owners or any of the agents of the corporation
to use personal assets. They are protected by the corporate structure. (There are exceptions,
however, when creditors attempt to “pierce the corporate veil,” but this is an issue for a
different article).

To have grown in popularity over the past several years because, like Bataan’s Food
and Trip, they allow the owners to protect their personal assets, offer tax advantages, and are
exceptionally flexible. The Bataan’s Food and Trip offers liability protection similar to that of
other successful businesses too.

3.Management and supervisory skills

The management and supervisory skills would never be a problem since the group
already attended to different entrepreneurship programs, trainings and seminars i.e.
entrepreneurial competencies seminar, "Kaya ko" program, Business is business seminar,

Mariveles National High School Camaya-Campus

12- General Academic Strand
Entrepreneurship trainings, etc. and so they would be able to have managerial skills as an
entrepreneur.

Building effective management and supervisory skills that can help you and your
organization succeed starts with management and supervisory skills training. Employees
already explore topics critical to developing effective management skills such as performance
management, motivation, team development, interpersonal and communication skills,
supervisory skills training and time management skills—everything you need to manage
people effectively.

4.Tax implications

The expenses for taxes when it comes to the value added tax, sales tax, and HST/GST
will be discuss here. Our business protects assets as a corporate structure does, we also have
more management flexibility and taxes are often simpler.

The tax implications of Bataan’s Food and Trip differs from those of business. Income from
the business is instead passed down to the company's owners, who are called members in
business. They claim the profits or losses on their personal tax forms.

Using these returns also avoids double taxation, under which corporations pay taxes on their
income and shareholders also pay taxes when the corporation's profits are distributed to them
through dividends. And so there are taxes present to this business but not on the business
itself, it is by the income of employees that will work with.

5.Government Intervention

This food and trip would intervene to the LGU Mariveles and Bataan government
since it promotes the Bataan's best and finest together. On the other hand, it would help Yes
Mariveles Tourism and 1Bataan.

Governments intervene in markets to address inefficiency. Like this kind of business,

in order to address inefficiency, government can help as long as there is an intervention
present. In an optimally efficient market, resources are perfectly allocated to those that need
them in the amounts they need. In inefficient markets that is not the case; some may have too
much of a resource while others do not have enough. The government tries to combat these
inequities through regulation, taxation, and subsidies. Withal, expected costs to pay to the
government of Municipality of Mariveles of this business is nearly expected. Most
governments have any combination of four different objectives when they intervene in the
Bataan’s Food and Trip are as follows:(1) Maximizing social welfare, (2) Macro Economic
Factors, (3) Socio Economic Factors, and (4) Other objectives.

6.Nature of the business

The nature of the business is merchandising products and goods to the customer. It
comes through the advertising and sales strategy, the monetary background, projected cash
flow and income statement. Nevertheless it shows our current position and where we want to

Mariveles National High School Camaya-Campus

12- General Academic Strand
be in the future and how we have planned to get there through excellent management. It lays
out the route for the future our business and set up standards of success. Moreover, the sales
and marketing strategy, and the financial background, and containing a projected profit and
loss statement are indicated to the lower part of the business plan.

7.External financing requirement

As this business intervenes to the community, external financing is required and

probably needed and is automatically there. Since it was just not a private ownership but thus,
open for investors as per included to the executive summary.

Liability of the Owner

As this section describes the extent of owner’s financial obligations with creditors, the
Bataan’s Food and Trip has the limited liability when it comes to the case of business
dissolution and there still remains unsettled financial obligation of the business, the creditor
cannot go after the personal property of the business owners. There are no such obligated
sources of funds when there are situation faces by this kind of business so that, there are
business who would trust and not completely engage with this. In order for them to negotiate
with this business without hesitations.

Like corporations, Bataan’s Food and Trip tends to provide their members protection
from liability. This means that members are not personally liable for debts and often court
judgments incurred by the Bataan’s Food and Trip. Creditors are foreclosed from seeking the
personal assets of the Food and Trip members. It is a meaningful shield not provided in a sole
proprietorship or traditional partnership.

OPERATIONAL PLAN

Manpower

Finding of manpower can't be a problem in finding employees since this is a sole

of Bataan and has its love for the province, perseverance and fix curls that business must

face. They are those who are physically fit and have their good physique and mental aspects.

And thus, is responsible for the position that they have taken into accounts, if the majority of

the employees will decide the demotion of an employee and if that person is not doing his/her

job appropriately and not with whole heartedly, he/she will be kicked or either be demoted.
