Quiz Bee Mechanics:

1. The contest is open to ALL regular Teacher Education students in Region IV-A, both public and private. This does not
include CTP/TCP students or those who are taking Professional Education units only.

2. Each college/university shall have only one (1) official entry composed of (3) students as contestants and a coach.

3. Contestants shall be required to wear their school uniform/practice teaching uniform and must be at the contest venue
thirty (30) minutes before the contest begins.

4. An entry form shall be required for submission with 2x2 pictures together with a certification of enrollment signed by the
Dean or any authorized school representative. Entry forms shall be submitted on or before September 16, 2019 and
shall be sent through LBC, express mail, etc. or personal delivery to:

5. The contest questions shall be based on the following courses:

Professional Education
1. Child and Adolescent Learning
2. Technology in Education
3. Building and Enhancing Literacy Across Curriculum
4. Foundations of Special and Inclusive Education
5. Social Dimensions of Education

General Education
1. Purposive Communication
2. The Contemporary World
3. Understanding the Self
4. Science, Technology and Society
5. Readings in the Philippine History
6. Rizal’s Life and Writings

6. Participating college/university may contribute three (3) multiple-type questions from each of the covered subjects.
The correct answer to each question with the corresponding reference/s (Title of the Book, Author, Publisher, Year of
Publication and the Page Number) must be clearly indicated. These questions must be specifically sent/ delivered to
the address stated in Mechanics #4 on or before September 16, 2019. STRICTLY no Quiz Bee questions shall be
accommodated beyond the deadline to give way to the final screening and other preparations.

7. A total of valid thirty (30) questions shall be pre-selected by the committee.

8. The quiz master shall read the question twice.

9. The group shall designate a member to raise the board bearing the answer of their choice after the question has been
read by the quiz master or immediately after the signal to do so has been given. He/ She will be instructed to raise the
board after the time limit is reached for checking purposes. All contestants shall be given only ten (10) seconds to
answer each question.

10. Each question is equivalent to one (1) point for every correct answer and zero for incorrect or no answer.

11. The first three (3) groups with the highest points shall be declared as winners: 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place,
respectively.

12. A panel of arbiters shall be designated for clarifications, protests and other questions which shall be raised before the
next question is asked. Supporting facts, articles, or printed materials shall be presented. The decision of the panel of
arbiters is final and irrevocable.

13. Disqualifications. Those who won in the previous Quiz Bees are disqualified to join. However, the winning schools
may choose other students to compete.

14. Registration fee for each participating college/university is Php1,500.00. This shall be paid during the registration on
September 27, 2019. A receipt will be issued.

15. Prizes at stake. The First, Second, and Third Placers shall receive a trophy for the school and cash prize for each
group. A Certificate of Recognition shall be awarded to individual winners. Certificate of Participation shall be given to
all participating groups.
