STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to answer the following questions.

1. What is the rate of OPM preferred by those Grade 12 students of ZMC?

2. What is the rate of Foreign Music preferred by those Grade 12 students of

ZMC?

3. What is most preferred between OPM and Foreign Music?

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The research will be conducted at Zamora Memorial College located at

Baranggay 9, Sto. Nino Street, Bacacay Albay .

This research focuses on the Music Preferences of Grade 12 students of ZMC

between Filipino Music and Foreign Music.

The selected students from each strands of the Grade 12 namely General

Academic Strand (GAS), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS),

Accountancy and Business Management (ABM), Science Technology

Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and Technical Vocational Livelihood

(TVL) will be the respondents in this study.

The researchers will delimit the Junior High School Students including the

Grade 11 students, as they were excluded from being the respondents while

researchers conduct surveys and study in the school premises

 Significance of the Research

This research focuses on knowing the most preferred music between

OPM and Foreign Music. It will help someone to have more knowledge about

music. This study will also give benefits to the following:

Musicians/Performers. This study gives honor to the person who is

inclined to music and to perform . Musicians and performers will be motivated

to create more music and perform knowing that someones appreciates them.

Students. This research will help the students to have knowledge about

music even if it is local or not. It will help them to relate more and discover their

own music taste.

Filipino Citizen.This research will teach the Filipino people to support

their own music. It will also value the Filipino Culture.

Foreign People. This study will benefit them to endorse their country

and their music. It will give honor to their own kind.

Present Researchers. This study will help them to discover further

about music.For them to know about OPM and Foreign Music.The present

researchers will also pass their “Research Project” through this study.
