Ziyarat al-Nahiya al-Muqaddasa

The text of Ziyarat al-Nahiya is found in some early Ziyarat collections such as al-Mazar al-Kabir, by
Muhammad Ibn Ja’far al-Mash’hadi, pp. 496-513. It is also reported in al-Mazar, by al-Mufid as
mentioned in Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 98, pp. 318-329.

Of the several prescribed Ziyarat of Imam al-Husain (asws), one was recited by Imam al-Mahdi (atfs)
and reached us through one of his four special deputies. For that reason, it is known as the Ziyarat
that was issued from the sacred side (Ziyarat al-Nahiya al-Muqaddasa). One of the most important
features of this Ziyarat is that in different phrases, Imam al-Mahdi (atfs) graphically describes the
events of Ashura and the agony that Imam al-Husain (asws) and his family faced on that horrific and
ominous day.

The following is the Ziarat:

al-ħāffīna biturrbatik, aţ-ţā'ifīna bi3aršatik,

surround your grave,
al-wāridīna liziyāratik,
circumambulate your courtyard, and
ْ ْ ‫ﺑ‬
‫ﻮاردﻳﻦ‬ ‫ اﻟ‬،‫ﻚ‬ ‫�ﺻ ِﺘ‬
come for your ziarat.

Peace be upon you! Indeed, I
intended your visitation, and I am
rajawtul fawza ladayk,

hopeful of achieving the prosperity

Salam from he who recognizes your salāmal 3ārifi biħurmatik, al-mukhliši fī

wilāyatik, al-mutaqqarribi 'ilal-lāhi
sanctity, is a sincere believer in your

bimaħabbatik, al-barī'i min 'a3dā'ik,

،‫ﻚ‬ َ ‫ﻻﻳ ِﺘ‬ ‫اﻟ ُﻤﺨ ِﻠ ِﺺ ﰲ و‬

wilayat, seeks nearness to Allah
through your love, and is distant

‫ب‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻘ‬ ‫ﺘ‬‫ﻤ‬
from your enemies,

‫ﻦ‬ْ ‫ اﻟْﱪيء ﻣ‬،‫ﺑﻤﺤﺒﺘﻚ‬

‫ﺼﺎﺑ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺒ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﺳ‬
Salam from the one whose heart is salāma man qalbuhu bimušābika maqrūħ,

wa dam3uhu 3inda dhikrika masfūħ,
wounded due to the tribulations you
have suffered, and whose tears flow ْ
‫ و د ْﻣ ُﻌﻪ ُ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ‬،‫وح‬ ٌ ‫ﻣ ْﻘﺮ‬
in your remembrance, َ َ ُ َ
،‫ﻮح‬ ٌ ‫ِذ ْﻛﺮك ﻣ ْﺴﻔ‬

،‫ﺰﻳﻦ‬ ‫ﺤ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ِ
‫ﻮع‬ ‫ﺠ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫ﺳﻼم اﻟﻤ‬
Salam from the one who is salāmal mafjū3il ħazīn, al-wālihil-mustakīn,
distressed, grief-stricken, distracted, ِ َ ُ َ َ َ
،‫ﻜﲔ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﺴ‬ْ ‫ﻮا� اﻟْﻤ‬
ِ
ْ
‫اﻟ‬
ِ
and yielding,
ِ َ ُ
‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻦ ﻟَ ْﻮ‬ْ ‫ﺳﻼم ﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻛﺎن َﻣ َﻌ‬
Salam from the one, who, had he salāma man law kāna ma3aka biţ-ţufūf,

lawaqāka binafsihi ħaddas-suyūf, wa
been present with you in that plain,
ْ
badhala ħushāshatahu dūnaka lil ħutūf,

‫ﻗﺎك ِﺑﻨَﻔ ِﺴ ِﻪ‬ َ ‫ ﻟَ َﻮ‬،‫ﻮف‬ ِ ُ‫ِﺑﺎﻟﻄُّﻔ‬

would have shielded you from the
sharpness of the swords with his

‫ و ﺑ َﺬ َل‬،‫ﻮف‬ ‫ﺣﺪ اﻟﺴﻴ‬

body and sacrificed his last breath
for you, َ َ ِ ُ ُ ّ َّ َ
ْ
،‫ﻮف‬ِ ُ ‫ﺤﺘ‬ ُ ِ‫ﻚ ﻟ‬
‫ﻠ‬ َ ‫وﻧ‬َ ُ ‫ﺸﺎﺷ َﺘﻪ ُد‬
َ ُ‫ﺣ‬
would have struggled beside you, wa jāhada bayna yadayk, wa našaraka 3alā
‫ و‬،‫ﻚ‬ ْ ‫و ﺟﺎﻫﺪ ﺑ ْﲔ ﻳﺪ‬
‫ﻳ‬
َ َ َ ََ َ َ َ َ
man baghā 3alayk, wa fadāka birūħihi wa
helped you against the aggressors, jasadihi wa mālihi wa waladih,
and redeemed you with his soul,
‫ﻦ ﺑﻐﻰ‬ ْ ‫ﻧﺼﺮك ﻋ� ﻣ‬
body, wealth, and children, َ َ َ َ َ َ َ
‫وﺣ ِﻪ و‬
ِ ‫ﺪاك ِﺑﺮ‬ َ َ ‫ و ﻓ‬،‫ﻚ‬ َ ‫ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ‬

ِ َ ‫ﻣﺎ� و و‬
ِ ‫ﺟﺴﺪه و‬
َ َ ِ َ ِ ِ َ َ
،ٌ‫ﻚ ﻓِﺪاء‬

ِ ‫َو ُروﺣُﻪ ُ ﻟِﺮو‬
and whose soul is a sacrifice for wa rūħuhu li rūħika fidā',

and whose family is a shield for wa 'ahluhu li 'ahlika wiqā',
yours.

‫ و‬،‫ﻫﻮر‬ �‫ا‬ ‫ﻲ‬ ‫ﻨ‬ ‫ﺗ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫أﺧ‬ ‫ﻦ‬
fala'in 'akh-kharatnid-duhūr, wa 3āqanī

But as I have been hindered by the
course of time and as Allah’s decree
3an našrikal maqdūr
َ ُ ُ ّ ُ َ
‫ﻦ َﻧ ْﺼ ِﺮ َك‬ْ ‫ﻋﺎﻗﻨﻲ ﻋ‬
has prevented me from helping you,

ْ ْ
،‫ﺪور‬ ‫ﻘ‬ ‫اﻟﻤ‬
ُ ُ َ
ْ ‫ﻦ ﻟﻤ‬ ْ
‫ﻚ‬ َ ‫ﺣﺎر َﺑ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ َِ ُ‫َو ﻟَ ْﻢ أﻛ‬
and as I could not fight those who wa lam 'akun liman ħārabaka muħāribā, wa

liman našaba lakal 3adāwata munāšibā,
fought you, and was not able to
‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﺐ‬ ‫ﺼ‬ ‫ﻧ‬ ْ ‫ و ﻟﻤ‬،ً‫ﻣﺤﺎرﺑﺎ‬
‫ﻦ‬

show hostility to those who showed
hostility to you, َ
ً ْ
،‫ﻨﺎﺻﺒﺎ‬ ِ ُ‫ﺪاو َة ﻣ‬ ‫اﻟﻌ‬
َ َ
ْ
ً ‫ﻚ ﺻﺒﺎﺣﺎ ًو ﻣﺴﺎء‬ ‫ﻨ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻧ‬ َ‫ﻓﻸ‬
Fala'andubannaka šabāħan wa masā'ā, wa

َ َ َّ َ ُ َ َ
I will, therefore, lament you
َ َ
la'abkiyanna laka badalad-dumū3i damā,
morning and evening, and will weep ħasratan 3alayka wa ta'assufan 3alā mā

‫ﻚ ﺑ َﺪ َل‬ ‫ﲔَﻟ‬ ‫ﻜ‬ ‫ﻷ ْﺑ‬ َ َ‫و‬

dahāka wa talahhufā,
ِ
blood in place of tears, out of my
anguish for you and my sorrow for َ َ َ ّ َ َ
ْ ً
‫ ﺣ� ًة‬،‫ﻮع دﻣﺎ‬ ِ ‫ا�ُﻣ‬
all that befell you,
َ َ َ ُ ّ
ً
‫ﺄﺳﻔﺎ ﻋ� ﻣﺎ‬ ُ ّ ‫ﻚ و َﺗ‬ َ ‫ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ‬

،‫ﻫﺎك و َﺗ َﻠ ّ ُﻬﻔﺎ‬ ‫د‬

‫ﻮت ِﺑ َﻠ ْﻮﻋ ِﺔ‬ َ ُ‫ﺣ ّﺘﻰ أﻣ‬
until I meet death from the pain of ħattā 'amūta bilaw3atil mušāb wa ghuššatil

'ikti'yāb,
the catastrophe and the choking
ْ
‫ﺼ ِﺔ‬ ‫ﻏ‬ ‫و‬ ، ‫ﺼﺎب‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ُ ‫اﻟ‬
grief.

،‫ﻴﺎب‬ ِ ‫ﺘ‬
ِ ‫اﻹﻛ‬

‫أﻗﻤﺖ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻗ‬ ‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻧ‬ ‫أ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻬ‬‫أﺷ‬
'ash-hadu 'annaka qad 'aqamtaš-šalāt, wa

I testify that you certainly
ātaytaz-zakāt,
established prayer, paid zakat,
،‫ﻛﻮة‬ ‫اﻟﺰ‬ ‫ﺖ‬ ْ ‫ و آﺗ‬،‫اﻟﺼﻠﻮة‬
‫ﻴ‬

enjoined good, forbade evil and
transgression,
munkari wal 3udwān,

‫ﻜ ِﺮ و‬ َ ‫ﻦ اﻟ ُﻤﻨ‬ِ ‫َ� ْﻴﺖ ﻋ‬
َ َ َ َ
ْ ْ
،‫وان‬
ِ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫اﻟ ُﻌ‬
ْ
،ُ‫أﻃﻌﺖ اﷲ و ﻣﺎ ﻋﺼ ْﻴﺘﻪ‬ ‫و‬
wa 'aţa3tal-lāha wa mā 3ašaytah, wa

َ َ َ َ َ
obeyed Allah, never disobeyed Him,
َ َ َ
tamassakta bihi wa bi ħablih,

ْ
and held fast to Him and to His rope.
ْ
ِ�ِ ‫ﺖ ِﺑ ِﻪ َو ِﺑ َﺤﺒ‬ ‫و ﺗﻤﺴﻜ‬
َ َّ َ َ َ
Then, you pleased Him, held Him in fa 'arđhaytahu wa khashaytahu wa
‫ﺧﺸﻴﺘﻪ ُو‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ْ ‫ﺄرﺿ‬
‫ﻴ‬ ْ ‫ﻓ‬
َ َ َ َُ َ َ َ
rāqabtahu wastajabtah,
awe, were attentive towards Him,
and were responsive to Him,
،ُ‫اﺳﺘﺠ ْﺒﺘﻪ‬ ْ ‫راﻗ ْﺒﺘﻪ و‬
َ َ َ َُ َ َ
ْ ْ ْ
‫ت‬ ‫ﺄ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫أﻃ‬ ‫و‬ ،
َ َ َ َ َ ُ ّ َ ‫َو َﺳﻨَﻨ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﻨ‬ ‫اﻟﺴ‬ ‫ﺖ‬
established the sunnah of the wa sanantas-sunan, wa 'aţfa'tal fitan,
Prophet (saw) extinguished turmoil
ْ
،‫اﻟ ِﻔﺘﻦ‬
in religion,
َ َ
‫ و‬،‫إ� اﻟﺮﺷﺎ ِد‬ ‫ت‬ ‫و دﻋ ْﻮ‬
wa da3awta 'ilar-rashād, wa 'awđhaħta
َ
invited people to rectitude, clarified
the ways of righteousness, and truly
subulas-sadād, wa jāhadta fil-lāhi ħaqqal
jihād, َ َّ َ َ َ َ
ْ ْ
‫ و‬،‫اﻟﺴﺪا ِد‬ ‫ﻞ‬ ‫ﺒ‬‫ﺳ‬ ‫ﺖ‬ ‫ﺤ‬ ‫ﺿ‬ ‫أو‬
strove in the way of Allah.

‫ت ِﰲ اﷲِ ﺣ ّ َﻖ‬ َ ‫ﺟﺎﻫ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ َ

،‫اﻟ ِﺠﻬﺎ ِد‬

،‫ﻃﺎ�ﻌﺎ‬ ‫ﷲ‬
� ‫ﺖ‬ ‫و ﻛﻨ‬
wa kunta lil-lāhi ţā'i3ā,
ِ ِ َ ُ َ
You were an obedient one to Allah,

‫و ﻟِﺠ ِّﺪ َك ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ ﺻ ّ َ� اﷲ‬

a follower of your grandfather, wali jaddika muħammadin šallal-lāhu

ُ َ َ ُ َ َ
3alayhi wa ālihi tābi3ā,
Muhammad, peace be upon him and
ً
،‫ﺗﺎﺑﻌﺎ‬
ِ �‫آ‬ ِ ِ ‫َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ و‬
his family,
َ
ً ْ ‫و ﻟﻘ‬
،‫أﺑﻴﻚ ﺳﺎ ِﻣﻌﺎ‬ ‫ل‬ ‫ﻮ‬
wali qawli 'abīka sāmi3ā,
ِ َِ َ
heedful of the saying of your father,
َ

‫أﺧﻴﻚ‬ ‫و إ� و ِﺻ ّﻴَ ِﺔ‬

quick to execute the will of your wa 'ilā waššiyyati 'akhīka musāri3ā,
brother, َ َ َ

،‫ﺴﺎرﻋﺎ‬
ِ ُ‫ﻣ‬

religion, a suppressor of tyranny,

،‫ﻴﺎن ﻗﺎ ِﻣﻌﺎ‬‫ﻐ‬
ً
ِ ُ‫َو ﻟِﻠﻄُّﻐﺎ ِة ﻣ‬
‫ و ﻟِﻸ ُ ّ َﻣ ِﺔ‬،‫ﻘﺎرﻋﺎ‬
an advancer on the transgressors, wa liţ-ţughāti muqāri3ā, wa lil 'ummati

َ
nāšiħā,
and a sincere exhorter for the nation,
ً
،‫ﻧﺎﺻﺤﺎ‬
ِ

‫ت‬ ْ ْ
ِ ‫ﺮات اﻟ َﻤﻮ‬ِ ‫َو ﰲ َﻏ َﻤ‬
a traveler into mortal throes, wa fī ghamarātil mawti sābiħā,

ً
،‫ﺳﺎﺑﺤﺎ‬ ِ
ً ْ
‫ و‬،‫ﺎق ﻣﻜﺎ ِﻓﺤﺎ‬ ‫ﺴ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫وﻟ‬
wa lil fussāqi mukāfiħā, wa bi-ħujajil-lāhi

ُ ِ ّ ُ ِ َ
a warrior against the wretched, and a
َ
qā'imā,
maintainer of Allah’s hujjat (proofs)
ً
،‫ﻗﺎ�ﻤﺎ‬
ِ ِ‫ﺠ ِﺞ اﷲ‬ ‫ﺑﺤ‬
on earth,
َ ُ ِ
wa lil 'islāmi wal muslimīna rāħimā,
‫ﻤﲔ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﺴ‬ْ ‫ﻼم و اﻟْﻤ‬ ‫ﺳ‬ ْ ْ‫و ﻟﻺ‬
َ ِ ُ َ ِ ِ َ
compassionate towards Islam and
Muslims,
ً
،‫را�ﺎ‬ ِ
ْ ْ
‫ و ِﻋﻨ َﺪ‬،ً‫ﻧﺎﺻﺮا‬ ‫و ﻟِﻠﺤ ّ ِﻖ‬
wa lil ħaqqi nāširā, wa 3indal balā'i šābirā,
ِ
a champion of truth and most patient
in adversity, َ َ َ
ْ
،ً‫ﺻﺎﺑﺮا‬ِ ‫ء‬
ِ ‫ﻼ‬ ‫ﺒ‬ ‫اﻟ‬
َ
wa liddīni kāli'ā, wa 3an ħawzatihi
ْ ‫ و ﻋ‬،ً‫و ﻟ�ﻳﻦ ﻛﺎﻟﺌﺎ‬
‫ﻦ‬
َ َ ِ ِ ّ ِ َ
a protector for the religion, and a
murāmiyā,
defender of its domain.
ً
،‫ﺣ ْﻮ َز ِﺗ ِﻪ ﻣﺮا ِﻣﻴﺎ‬
ُ َ
ْ ْ
،‫ط ا�ُﺪى و َﺗﻨﺼﺮه‬ ُ ‫ﺤﻮ‬ ُ ‫َﺗ‬
You safeguarded the right path and taħūţul hudā wa tanšuruh,
supported it, ُ ُ ُ َ
ْ ْ ْ ْ
،‫�ه‬ � ‫ﺗ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ل‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ﻂ‬ ‫ﺴ‬ �‫و ﺗ‬
wa tabsuţul 3adla wa tanshuruh,
ُ
spread justice and promoted it,
ُ ُ ُ َ َ َ َ ُ َ َ
ْ ْ
،‫ا�ﻳﻦ و ﺗُﻈ ِﻬﺮه‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﺼ‬ ‫و ﺗﻨ‬
advocated the faith and manifested wa tanšurud-dīna wa tuđhiruh,
it, ُ ُ َ َ ّ ُ ُ َ َ
ْ
،‫ﺚ و َﺗ ْﺰﺟﺮه‬ ‫ﻌﺎﺑ‬ ‫ﻒ اﻟ‬ ُّ ‫ﻜ‬ ُ ‫و َﺗ‬
wa takkufful 3ābitha wa tazjuruh,

َ َ ِ
restrained and reproached the
frivolous, ُ ُ ُ َ

took back the rights of the lowly wa ta'khudhu lid-daniyyi minash-sharīf,
from the privileged,
،‫ﻳﻒ‬
ِ �‫اﻟ‬
َّ
ْ ْ ْ
‫ﲔ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻢ‬ � ‫ﺤ‬ ُ ‫َو �ُﺴﺎوي ِﰲ اﻟ‬
wa tusāwī fil ħukmi baynal qawiyyi wađh-

َ َ ِ
and were equitable in your
đha3īf,
arbitrations between the weak and
ْ
،‫ﻌﻴﻒ‬ِ ‫اﻟﻀ‬ َ ّ َ ِّ ِ َ ‫اﻟ‬
‫و‬ ‫ي‬ ‫ﻮ‬ ‫ﻘ‬
the strong.

kunta rabī3al 'aytām, wa 3išmatal 'anām, wa

‫و‬ ، ‫ﺘﺎم‬ ْ ‫ﻛﻨْﺖ رﺑﻴﻊ‬
‫اﻷﻳ‬
ِ
َ َ َ ُ
You were the springtime of the
َ
3izzal 'islām,
orphans, the protection of humanity,
‫ و ِﻋ ّ َﺰ‬،‫اﻷﻧﺎم‬ِ ‫ِﻋ ْﺼﻤ َﺔ‬
the glory of Islam,
َ َ
،‫ﻼم‬ ْ
ِ ‫اﻹﺳ‬
ْ ْ
‫ و‬،‫ﻜﺎم‬
ِ ‫و ﻣﻌ ِﺪ َن اﻷﺣ‬
the treasure of divine laws, and a wa ma3dinal 'aħkām wa ħalīfal 'in3ām,
relentless ally of benevolence. َ َ َ

،‫ﻌﺎم‬
ِ ‫ﻠﻴﻒ اﻹﻧ‬َ ‫ﺣ‬ َ
ً
‫ﺮا� َﻖ ]ﰲ‬
ِ ‫ﻃ‬ َ ‫ﺳﺎﻟِ�ﺎ‬
You pursued the path of your sālikan ţarā'iqa jaddika wa 'abīk,
grandfather and your father,
،‫أﺑﻴﻚ‬ ‫ﺮﻳﻘ ِﺔ[ ﺟ ِّﺪ َك و‬ ‫ﻃ‬
َ َ َ َ َ
ْ ً ْ
،‫ﺧﻴﻚ‬ ‫ﻷ‬ِ ِ َ ّ ِ ‫ﻣُﺸ ِ�ﺎ ِﰲ اﻟ‬
‫ﺔ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﺻ‬ ‫ﻮ‬
resembled your brother in will, mushbihan fil wašiyyati li 'akhīk,
َ َ
،�ِ ‫اﻟﺸ‬ ِ ‫ ر ِﺿﻲ‬،‫ا�ﻣﻢ‬ ِ ‫وﰲ‬
wafiyyadh-dhimam, rađhiyyash-shiyam

َ ّ َّ َ ِ َ ّ َّ ِ َ
were loyal to your obligations,
possessed pleasant manners,

You were the straightest path, the
sawābiq,
most generous of the creation, and َ

ِ ‫ﺨ‬ َ ‫اﻟ‬
had the brightest record.

You were of great ancestry, noble sharīfan-nasab, munīfal ħasab, rafī3ar-
rutab,

descent, and lofty rank.

always turning to Allah, generous,

knowledgeable, strong,

،‫ﻨﻴﺐ‬ ‫إﻣﺎم َﺷ‬
a martyred Imam (asws), grieved, 'imāmun shahīd, 'awwāhun munīb, ħabībun

repentant with earnest prayers to
Allah, dearly loved,

wa lil qur'āni sanadā [munqidhā],

for the Quran, an authority [a
savior], ُ ُ َ

،ً‫ﻀﺪا‬ ُ ‫َو ﻟِﻸ ُ ّ َﻣ ِﺔ َﻋ‬

and for the nation, a support. wa lil 'ummati 3ađhudā,

،ً‫�ﺪا‬ ِ َ ُ‫ّﺎﻋ ِﺔ ﻣ‬
‫ﺠ‬ ‫و ِﰲ اﻟﻄ‬
You were diligent in obedience, wa fiţ-ţā3ati mujtahidā,

،‫ﻤﻴﺜﺎق‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻬ‬ ‫ﺣﺎﻓﻈﺎ ﻟﻠﻌ‬
ħāfiđan lil 3ahdi wal mīthāq,

a protector of the covenant and oath,
ِ
ْ ْ ‫ﻧﺎﻛﺒﺎ ًﻋ‬
،‫ﺎق‬ ‫ﺴ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ﻞ‬ ‫ﺒ‬ ‫ﺳ‬ ‫ﻦ‬
nākiban 3an subulil fussāq,

keeping away from the paths of
debauchery,
ْ ْ
،‫]و[ ﺑﺎ ِذﻻ ً ﻟِﻠﻤﺠ ُﻬﻮ ِد‬
sparing no effort in fulfilling the [wa] bādhilan lil majhūd,
duties, َ َ
ِ ُ‫ﻮﻳﻞ اﻟﺮﻛ‬
‫ﻮع و‬ ‫ﻃ‬
ţawīlar-rukū3i was-sujūd,

performing prolonged bowing
(rukoo) and prostrations, (sajda) َ

‫ﲔ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﺎ‬ �
nāđiran 'ilayhā bi3aynil-mustawħishīna

looking upon the world through the
minhā,
eyes of one estranged from it.

،‫ﺸﲔ ِﻣ�ﺎ‬ ‫ﺣ‬ ‫ﻮ‬ ْ ‫اﻟْﻤ ْﺴﺘ‬
َ ِ َ ُ
ٌ ْ ْ
،‫ﻚ ﻋ�ﺎ ﻣﻜﻔُﻮﻓَﺔ‬ ‫آﻣﺎﻟ‬
āmāluka 3anhā makfūfah,

You desired nothing from this
world, َ
wa himmatuka 3an zīnatihā mašrūfah,
‫ﻦ زﻳﻨَ ِ�ﺎ‬ ْ ‫و ﻫﻤﺘﻚ ﻋ‬
َ َ ُ َّ ِ َ
your efforts were far-removed from
its embellishments,
ٌ
،‫ﻣ ْﺼﺮوﻓَﺔ‬
ُ َ
wa 'alħāđuka 3an bahjatihā maţrūfah,
‫�ﺠ ِ�ﺎ‬ ْ ‫ﻦ‬ ْ ‫و أﻟْﺤﺎﻇﻚ ﻋ‬
َ َ َ َ ُ
your glances removed from its joys,
َ
ٌ ْ
،‫ﻣﻄﺮوﻓَﺔ‬
ُ َ
ْ
‫اﻵﺧﺮ ِة‬ ‫ﻚ ِﰲ‬ َ ُ َ ‫َو َر‬
‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﺒ‬ ‫ﻏ‬
wa raghbatuka fil ākhirati ma3rūfah,
ِ
and your desire for the hereafter was
well-known, َ
ٌ ْ
،‫ﻣ�وﻓَﺔ‬
ُ َ
ْ ْ
،ُ‫إذا اﻟﺠﻮر ﻣ ّ َﺪ ﺑﺎﻋﻪ‬ ‫ﺣﺘﻰ‬
even when tyranny became wide- ħattā 'idhal jowru madda bā3ah,
spread, َ َ ُ َ َ َّ
ْ ْ ‫و‬
،ُ‫أﺳ َﻔﺮ اﻟﻈُّﻠﻢ ِﻗﻨﺎﻋﻪ‬
oppression removed its veil, wa 'asfarađ-đulmu qinā3ah,

ْ ْ
،ُ‫و دﻋﺎ اﻟ َﻐﻲ أﺗﺒﺎﻋﻪ‬
wickedness called upon its wa da3al ghayyu 'atbā3ah,
followers, َ ُّ َ َ َ
ٌ ‫أﻧﺖ ﰲ ﺣﺮ ِم ﺟﺪك ﻗﺎﻃ‬ ْ
،‫ﻦ‬ ‫و‬
wa 'anta fī ħarami jaddika qāţin,
ِ َ ِّ َ
and you were residing in the
sanctuary of your grandfather, َ َ َ َ
wa liđ-đālimīna mubāyin,
،‫ﻦ‬ ٌ ‫و ﻟﻠﻈّﺎﻟﻤﲔ ﻣﺒﺎﻳ‬
ِ ُ َ ِ ِ َ
detached from the oppressors,

jalīsul bayti wal miħrāb,

‫ﺖو‬ ْ ‫ﺟﻠ�ﺲ اﻟْﺒ‬
‫ﻴ‬
َ ِ َ ُ َ
sitting in the house and the prayer

ْ ْ
niche,
،‫ﺮاب‬ ِ ‫ﺤ‬ ‫اﻟ ِﻤ‬

‫ﻚو‬ ‫ﺒ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﻘ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻜ‬ ‫ﻨ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ُ ُ ‫ﺗُﻨ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻜ‬
tunkirul munkara biqalbika wa lisānik, 3alā
ِ ِ َ ِ
and renouncing evil in your heart
َ َ َ َ
ħasabi ţāqatika wa 'imkānik,
and on your tongue to the extent of
‫ﺐ‬ ِ ‫ﺣ َﺴ‬ �‫ ﻋ‬،‫ﻟﺴﺎﻧﻚ‬
َ َ َ ِ ِ
your strength and ability.

،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻧ‬ ‫ﻜﺎ‬ ‫إﻣ‬ْ ‫ﻃﺎﻗﺘﻚ و‬

،‫ﻜﺎر‬ ‫ﻧ‬ ‫ﻺ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ﻀﺎك‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫اﻗ‬ �
thummaqtađhākal 3ilmu lil 'inkār,
ِ ِ ِ َ
Then the knowledge demanded you
for disavowal of falsehood, ُ َ َّ ُ
ْ ْ
‫ﻚ[ أن‬ َ َ َ ‫ﻚ ]أﻟ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺰ‬ َ ‫َو ﻟَ ِﺰ َﻣ‬
and made it incumbent on you to wa lazimika 'an tujāhidal fujjār,
struggle against the deviant.
ْ
،‫ﺠﺎر‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫ﺗﺠﺎﻫﺪ اﻟ‬
َ ّ ُ َ ِ ُ
fasirta fī 'awlādika wa 'ahālīk, wa shī3atika
‫أوﻻ ِد َك و‬ ْ ‫�ت ﰲ‬ ْ ‫ﻓ‬
ِ َ
Therefore, you set out in company
of your children, kinsfolk, followers,
wa mawālīk,
َ َ
‫ﻚو‬ ‫ و ﺷﻴﻌﺘ‬،‫أﻫﺎﻟﻴﻚ‬
َ َ ِ َ
and supporters,
َ َ
‫ﻮاﻟﻴﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻣ‬
َ
ْ ْ
‫و ﺻ َﺪﻋﺖ ِﺑﺎﻟﺤ ّ ِﻖ و‬
disclosed the truth and clear proofs, wa šada3ta bil ħaqqi wal bayyinah,

َ َ َ َ َ
ْ
،‫اﻟﺒ ِ ّﻴﻨَ ِﺔ‬
َ
ْ ْ
‫إ� اﷲِ ِﺑﺎﻟ ِﺤﻜﻤ ِﺔ‬ ْ
َ ‫ت‬ َ ‫َو َد َﻋﻮ‬
summoned people towards Allah wa da3awta 'ilal-lāhi bil ħikmakti wal

َ
maw3iđatil ħasanah,
with wisdom and fine exhortation,
ْ ْ
،‫و اﻟﻤ ْﻮ ِﻋﻈَ ِﺔ اﻟﺤﺴﻨَ ِﺔ‬
َ َ َ َ
ْ ْ ‫و أﻣ‬
‫ و‬،‫ﺪو ِد‬ ‫ﺤ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ﺔ‬ ‫ﺈﻗﺎﻣ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ت‬ ‫ﺮ‬
wa 'amarta bi'iqāmatil ħudūd, waţ-ţā3ati lil
ِ ِ
ordered the establishment of the
limits of divine law, and the
ma3būd,
َ ُ ُ َ َ َ َ
ْ ْ
،‫اﻟﻄّﺎﻋ ِﺔ ﻟِﻠﻤﻌﺒﻮ ِد‬
obedience to the One Who should be
worshipped, ُ َ َ
ْ ْ �‫و‬
‫ﺚو‬ �‫ﺒﺎ‬ ‫ﺨ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﺖ‬ ‫ﻴ‬
wa nahayta 3anil khabā'ithi waţ-ţughyān
ِ ِ
and forbade people from wickedness
and oppression. َ َ ِ َ َ ََ َ
ْ
،‫ﻴﺎن‬ ِ ُ ّ‫اﻟﻄ‬ ‫ﻐ‬

But, they confronted you with wa wājahūka biđ-đulmi wal 3udwān,
oppression and hostility. َ َ َ

،‫وان‬
ِ ‫اﻟ ُﻌﺪ‬
ْ ْ ْ
�ُ َ‫اﻹﻳﻌﺎز ﻟ‬ ‫ﺠﺎﻫﺪ َ� ْﻢ ﺑﻌ َﺪ‬ ‫ﻓ‬
fa jāhadtahum ba3dal 'ī3āzi lahum [al-ī3ādi
ِ
Therefore, you resisted them after
َ ُ َ َ
'ilayhim] wa ta'kīdil ħujjati 3alayhim,

ْ
advising them and stressing over
ْ
ِ ‫� ْﻢ[ َو َﺗﺄ‬
‫ﻛﻴﺪ‬ ِ َ‫]اﻹﻳﻌﺎ ِد إﻟ‬
divine proofs against them.

،‫� ْﻢ‬ ْ ‫اﻟْﺤﺠﺔ ﻋﻠ‬

ِ َ َ ِ َّ ُ
fanakathū dhimāmaka wa bay3atak,
،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ْ ‫ﻓﻨﻜﺜﻮا ذﻣﺎﻣﻚ و ﺑ‬
‫ﻴ‬
َ َ َ َ َ َ َ ِ ُ َ ََ
However, they violated your divine
rights and oath.
wa 'askhaţu rabbaka wa jaddak,
،‫ﻚ و ﺟ ّ َﺪ َك‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ر‬ ‫ﻮا‬ ‫ﻄ‬ ‫ﺨ‬ ‫أﺳ‬ْ ‫و‬
ُ
angered your Lord and your
grandfather, َ َ َ َّ َ َ َ
،‫ب‬ ‫ﺮ‬ْ ‫و ﺑﺪؤوك ﺑﺎﻟْﺤ‬
wa bada'ūka bil ħarb,
ِ َ ِ َ ُ َ َ َ
and initiated battle against you.

ْ ْ
،‫ب‬ ِ ‫اﻟﻀﺮ‬ َ ّ ‫ﻦ َو‬ ِ ‫ﺖ ﻟِﻠﻄَّﻌ‬ َ ّ ‫ﻓَﺜَ َﺒ‬
Hence, you stood firm to spear and fa thabatta liţ-ţa3ni wađh-đharb,
strike,
ْ ْ
‫ و‬،‫ﺎر‬ ‫ﺠ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ﻮد‬ ‫ﻨ‬ ‫ﺟ‬ ‫ﺖ‬ ‫و ﻃﺤﻨ‬
wa ţaħanta junūdal fujjār, waqtaħamta

َ ِ ّ ُ َ ُ ُ َ َ َ َ
pulverized the soldiers of the
qasţalal ghubār,
transgressors, and stormed
ْ ْ ‫ْاﻗﺘﺤ ْﻤﺖ ﻗ‬
،‫ﺒﺎر‬ ‫ﻐ‬
ِ ُ ََ َ َ َ َ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ﻞ‬ ‫ﻄ‬ ‫ﺴ‬
courageously into the dust of the
battle,
ْ ً ‫ﻣﺠﺎ�ا‬
‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﺄﻧ‬ ‫ﻛ‬ ، ‫ﻘﺎر‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ى‬ ‫ﺬ‬ ‫ﺑ‬
mujālidan bidhil faqār, ka'annaka 3aliyunil
َ ّ َ ِ ِ ِ ِ ُ
fighting with Dhulfiqar as if you
َ َ
mukhtār,
were Ali (asws) al Mukhtar
ْ ْ ٌ
،‫� اﻟ ُﻤﺨﺘﺎر‬ ّ ِ ‫َﻋ‬
ُ
ْ ْ ‫ﻓﻠﻤﺎ ر‬
،‫ﺠﺎش‬ ِ ‫ﺖ اﻟ‬ ‫ﺛﺎﺑ‬ ‫أو َك‬
fallammā ra'awka thābital jāsh, ghayra
ِ
So when they saw you firm, fearless,
َ َ ََّ
khā'ifin wa lā khāsh,
and courageous,
ْ
،‫ﺧﺎش‬ ٍ ‫ﺧﺎ� ٍﻒ َو ﻻ‬ ِ َ ‫َﻏ‬ ‫ﲑ‬
ْ
našabū laka ghawā'ila makrihim, wa
ْ،�ِ ‫ﻧﺼﺒﻮا ﻟﻚ ﻏﻮا�ﻞ ﻣﻜﺮ‬
ِ َ َِ َ َ َ ُ َ َ
they set up their most malicious
qātaluka bikaydihim wa sharrihim,
deceptions against you, and fought
،ْ�ِ ‫ﻜ ْﻴ ِﺪ ِ�ْ و َﺷ ِﺮ‬ َ ‫ﻮك ِﺑ‬ َ ُ ‫ﻗﺎﺗﻠ‬ َ ‫َو‬
you with their deceit and
viciousness. ّ َ

The accursed one (Umar Ibn Sa’d la) wa 'amaral-la3īnu junūdahu, famana3ūkal

mā'a wa wurūdah,
commanded his soldiers, and thus,
ْ
،‫ﻮك اﻟﻤﺎء و وروده‬ َ ‫ﻓَ َﻤﻨَ ُﻌ‬
they prevented you from reaching or
receiving water. ُ َ ُ ُ َ َ
ْ
‫ و‬،‫ﺘﺎل‬ ‫ﻘ‬ ‫و ﻧﺎﺟﺰوك اﻟ‬
wa nājazūkal qitāl wa 3ājalūkan-nizāl,

َ َ ِ َ ُ َ َ
They rushed to engage you in
combat, descended swiftly upon
،‫ﺰال‬
َ ِّ‫ﻮك اﻟﻨ‬ َ ُ ‫ﻋﺎﺟﻠ‬
you,
َ
‫ﻬﺎم و‬
ِ ‫ﺎﻟﺴ‬
ّ ِ ‫ﻮك ِﺑ‬
َ ‫َو َر َﺷ ُﻘ‬
showering you with arrows and wa rashaqūka bis-sihāmi wan-nibāl,
stones, َ
،‫ﺒﺎل‬
ِ ّ‫اﻟﻨ‬
ِ

‫ﻒ‬ ْ ‫و �ﺴﻄﻮا إﻟ‬

َ ّ ُ‫ﻚ أﻛ‬ ‫ﻴ‬
wa basaţū 'ilayka 'akuffal išţilām,
َ َ ُ َ َ َ
and moving towards you with
uprooting hands.
،‫ﻼم‬ ْ
ِ ‫ﻄ‬ ِ ‫اﻹﺻ‬
ً
‫ و ﻻ‬،‫ﻚ ِذﻣﺎﻣﺎ‬ ‫و ﻟَ ْﻢ ﻳ ْﺮﻋ ْﻮا ﻟ‬
wa lam yar3aw laka dhimāmā, wa lā rāqabū
َ
Neither they respected your rights,
َ َ َ َ َ
fīka 'athāmā, fī qatlihim 'awliyā'ak, wa
nor were they mindful of retribution nahbihim riħālak,
ْ ْ ً
�ِ ‫ ﰲ َﻗﺘ ِﻠ‬،‫ﻓﻴﻚ أﺛﺎﻣﺎ‬ َ ‫راﻗﺒُﻮا‬
for slaying you and your
companions, and plundering your َ
belongings.
،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﺣﺎﻟ‬ ‫ر‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ْ �� ْ ‫ و‬،‫أوﻟﻴﺎءك‬ ْ
َ َ ِ ِ
ِ َ َ َ َ ِ
ْ ْ
‫ و‬،‫ﻮات‬ ‫و أﻧﺖ ﻣ َﻘ ّ َﺪ ٌم ِﰲ ا�َﺒ‬
wa 'anta muqqaddamun fil habawāt, wa
ِ
You were in the front line of the
َ َ ُ َ َ
muħtamilun lil adhiyyāt,

ٌ ْ
storm of battle, enduring afflictions.
،‫ﺎت‬ ِ ّ ِ ِ ‫ﻣُﺤ َﺘ ِﻤ‬

‫ﱪ َك‬ ِ ‫َﻗﺪ َﻋ ِﺠ َﺒﺖ ِﻣﻦ َﺻ‬
Indeed, the angels of the heavens qad 3ajibat min šabrika malā'ikatus-
samawāt,
were astonished by your patience.
،‫ﻤﺎوات‬
ِ ‫اﻟﺴ‬
َ ّ ُ ‫ﻜﺔ‬ َ �‫ﻼ‬
ِ ‫َﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﺄﺣﺪﻗﻮا ﺑﻚ ﻣ‬ ْ
‫ﻦ ﻛُ ّ ِﻞ‬ ِ َ ِ ُ َ َ‫ﻓ‬
The enemy then surrounded you fa 'aħdaqū bika min kullil jihāt,
from all sides,
ْ
،‫ﻬﺎت‬ ِ ‫اﻟ ِﺠ‬
ْ ْ
ِ ‫ﻮك ِﺑﺎﻟ ِﺠ‬
،‫ﺮاح‬ َ ُ َ ‫َو‬‫ﻨ‬‫ﺨ‬ ‫أﺛ‬
weakened you by inflicting wounds, wa 'ath-khanūka bil jirāħ,

wa ħālū baynaka wa baynar-rawāħ,
َ َ َ َ َ َ ُ
prevented you from taking any
repose, َ
ِ ‫اﻟﺮ‬
،‫واح‬
َّ
،‫ﻧﺎﺻ ٌﺮ‬ ْ ْ
ِ ‫ﻚ‬ َ َ‫َو ﻟَﻢ َﻳﺒ َﻖ ﻟ‬
and you had no helper remaining. wa lam yabqa laka nāšir,

ٌ ْ ْ
،‫ﺻﺎﺑ ٌﺮ‬
ِ ‫ﺖ ﻣُﺤ� َ ِﺴﺐ‬ ‫و أﻧ‬
You were bereaved yet patient, wa 'anta muħtasibun šābir,

َ َ
tadhubbu 3an niswatika wa 'awlādik,
‫ﻚو‬ ‫ﺗ‬ ‫ﻮ‬ ْ �‫ﻦ‬
‫ﺴ‬ ْ ‫ﺗ ﺬب ﻋ‬
ِ ِ َ ُّ ُ َ
defending your women and children,
َ َ َ
،‫أوﻻ ِد َك‬ ْ

ħattā nakasūka 3an jawādik,

ْ ‫ﺣﺘﻰ ﻧﻜﺴﻮك ﻋ‬
‫ﻦ‬
َ َ ُ َ َ َّ
until they caused you to fall from
your horse.
،‫ﺟﻮا ِد َك‬
َ
fa hawayta 'ilal 'arđhi jarīħā,
‫اﻷر ِض‬ ْ �‫ﻓﻬﻮ ْﻳﺖ إ‬
َ َ َ ََ
You fell to the ground, wounded,

ً
،‫ﺟﺮﻳﺤﺎ‬
َ
ْ
،‫ﻮل ِﺑﺤﻮا ِﻓ ِﺮﻫﺎ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﺨ‬ ‫ﺗﻄﺆك اﻟ‬
taţa'ukal khuyūlu biħawāfirihā,

َ ُ ُ ُ َ ُ َ َ
horses trampled you with their
hooves,
ْ
ُ ‫ﻮك اﻟﻄُّﻐﺎة‬ َ ُ ‫َو َﺗﻌﻠ‬
oppressors raised their swords wa ta3lūkaţ-ţughātu bibawātirihā,
against you,
،‫ِﺑﺒﻮا ِﺗ ِﺮﻫﺎ‬
َ
qad rashaħa lil mawti jabīnuk,
،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﺒﻴﻨ‬ ‫ﺟ‬ ‫ت‬ ‫ﻮ‬ْ ‫ﻗ ْﺪ رﺷﺢ ﻟ ْﻠﻤ‬
َ ُ َ ِ َ ِ َ َ َ َ
the sweat of death appeared on your
forehead,
ْ ْ ْ
‫ﺒﺎض و‬ ‫ﺎﻻﻧ ِﻘ‬ ‫و اﺧﺘ َﻠ َﻔﺖ ِﺑ‬
wakhtalafat bil inqibāđhi wal inbisāţi
ِ ِ
and you continually clenched and
َ َ َ
shimāluka wa yamīnuk,
unclenched your hands,
ْ
‫ﻚو‬ ‫ﺴﺎط ِ�ﺎﻟ‬ ِ ِ �‫اﻹﻧ‬
َ َ ُ
،‫ﻚ‬َ ُ ‫َﻳﻤﻴﻨ‬

secretly gazing upon your caravan tudīru ţarfan khafiyyan 'ilā raħlika wa

baytik,
and tents,

،‫ﻚ‬ َ ‫ﻚ َو َﺑﻴ ِﺘ‬ َ ‫َرﺣ ِﻠ‬
ْ ‫و ﻗ ْﺪ ﺷﻐﻠْﺖ ﺑﻨ ْﻔﺴﻚ ﻋ‬
‫ﻦ‬
َ َ ِ َ ِ َ ِ ُ َ َ
while trapped by yourself away from wa qad shughilta binafsika 3an wuldika wa
'ahālīk,

ْ
your children and family.
،‫أﻫﺎﻟﻴﻚ‬
َ ‫� َك و‬ ِ ‫ُو‬
َ
،ً‫ﺷﺎردا‬ ِ ‫ﻚ‬ َ ‫ع ﻓَ َﺮ ُﺳ‬ َ ‫َو أﺳ َﺮ‬
ْ
At that time, your horse galloped wa 'asra3a farasuka shāridan, 'ilā
khiyāmika qāšidan, muħamħiman bākiyā,
towards your camp, neighing and
،ً‫ﻗﺎﺻﺪا‬ ِ ‫ﻚ‬ َ ‫ﺧﻴﺎ ِﻣ‬ ِ �‫إ‬
crying.

ً ً ْ
،‫ﻛﻴﺎ‬ ِ ‫ﻣُ َﺤﻤ ِﺤﻤﺎ ﺑﺎ‬
When the women saw your horse falammā ra'aynan-nisā'u jawādaka
‫أﻳﻦ اﻟ�ِّﺴﺎء ﺟﻮاد َك‬ ْ ‫ﻓﻠﻤﺎ ر‬
َ َ ُ َ َ ََّ
makhziyyā,
distraught,
ً ْ
،‫ﻣﺨ ِﺰ ّﻳﺎ‬
َ
‫ﻚ ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ‬ ‫و َﻧﻈَ ْﺮن ﺳ ْﺮﺟ‬
and observed your saddle contorted, wa nađarna sarjaka 3alayhi malwiyyā,
َ
َ َ َ َ َ
ً ْ
،‫ﻣﻠ ِﻮ ّﻳﺎ‬
َ
ْ ْ
،‫ور‬ِ ُ ُ ‫ﻦ اﻟ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﺨ‬ ‫ﺑﺮزن ِﻣ‬
they came from the tents, barazna minal khudūr,

َ َ َ َ
،‫ﻮر‬
ِ ‫اﻟﺸ ُﻌ‬
ُ ّ ‫ﺮات‬
ِ ‫ﻧﺎﺷ‬
nāshirātish-shu3ūr,
ِ
disheveling their hair,

ْ
‫ﻤﺎت‬
ِ ‫ﺪو ِد ﻻ ِﻃ‬ ُ ُ ‫َﻋ َ� اﻟ‬
‫ﺨ‬
striking their now unveiled cheeks, 3alal khudūdi lāţimātil wujūhi sāfirāt,

ْ
،‫ﺮات‬
ٍ ِ ِ ُ ُ ‫اﻟ‬
‫ﻓ‬‫ﺳﺎ‬ ‫ه‬ ‫ﻮ‬ ‫ﺟ‬ ‫ﻮ‬
ْ
،‫ﻴﺎت‬
ٍ ِ ِ َ ‫َو ِﺑﺎﻟ‬
‫داﻋ‬ ‫ﻮﻳﻞ‬ ‫ﻌ‬
calling you by lamenting and wa bil 3awīli dā3iyāt,
wailing,
ْ ْ
،‫ﻼت‬
ِ َ ّ‫َو َﺑﻌ َﺪ اﻟ ِﻌ ِ ّﺰ ﻣُ َﺬﻟ‬
being humiliated after being wa ba3dal 3izzi mudhallalāt,
honored,
ْ
،‫رات‬
ٍ ‫ﻚ ﻣُﺒﺎ ِد‬
َ ‫َو إ� َﻣﺼ َﺮ ِﻋ‬
hastening to where you lay wa 'ilā mašra3ika mubādirāt,
wounded.

�‫اﻟﺸﻤﺮ ﺟﺎﻟِ ٌﺲ ﻋ‬ ِّ ‫َو‬
At that time Shimr (La) was sitting wash-shimru jālisun 3alā šadrik,
on your chest, َ ُ

،‫ﺻﺪ ِر َك‬
َ
ْ ٌ
،‫و ﻣﻮﻟِﻎ ﺳ ْﻴ َﻔﻪ ُﻋ� َﻧﺤ ِﺮ َك‬
quenching his sword with the blood mūlighon sayfahu 3alā naħrik,
of your throat, َ َ ُ َ
ْ ‫ﺾ ﻋ� ﺷ‬ ٌ
،‫ﻚ ِﺑﻴ ِﺪ ِه‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﺒ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻗﺎﺑ‬
qābiđhun 3alā shaybatika biyadih,
ِ ِ
grabbing your beard with his hand,
َ َ َ َ َ
،‫ﻚ ِﺑ ُﻤ َﻬﻨّ َ ِﺪ ِه‬ ٌ
َ َ‫ذاﺑﺢ ﻟ‬
dhābiħun laka bimuhannadih,
ِ
as he slew you with his sword.

ْ ْ
،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻮاﺳ‬ ‫ﺣ‬ ‫ﺖ‬ َ َ َ ‫َﻗ‬
‫ﻨ‬ ‫ﻜ‬ ‫ﺳ‬ ‫ﺪ‬
Your senses faded, qad sakanat ħawāsuka,
َ ُّ َ
ْ ْ
،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻔﺎﺳ‬ ‫أﻧ‬ ‫ﺧ ِﻔﻴﺖ‬ ‫و‬
your breath became shallow and wa khafiyat 'anfāsuka,
ceased, َ ُ َ َ َ
ْ ْ
،‫ﻚ‬ َ ُ َ َ ‫َو ُرﻓِ َﻊ َﻋ َ� اﻟ‬
‫ﺳ‬ ‫أ‬‫ر‬ ‫ة‬ ‫ﻨﺎ‬ ‫ﻘ‬
wa rufi3a 3alal qanāti ra'suka,
ِ
and your head was raised onto a
spear.
ْ ْ
،‫ﺒﻴﺪ‬ِ ‫ﻛﺎﻟ َﻌ‬ َ َ ُ ‫َو ُﺳ ِﺒ َﻲ‬
‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫أﻫ‬
Your family were captured like wa subiya 'ahluka kal 3abīd,
slaves,
ْ
‫ﺪﻳﺪ ﻓَ ْﻮ َق‬ ِ ‫ﺪوا ِﰲ اﻟ َﺤ‬ ُ ‫ﺻ ِّﻔ‬ ‫و‬
bound with iron chains atop camels, wa šuffidū fil ħadīdi fawqa 'aqtābil maţiyyāt,

ُ َ
ْ ْ
،‫ﺎت‬ ِ ّ ِ َ ِ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻄ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ﺘﺎب‬ ‫أﻗ‬
ْ ْ
‫ﻮﻫ ُ� ﺣﺮ‬ ‫ﺟ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﺢ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﺗ‬
with midday heat scorching their talfaħu wujūhahum ħarrul hājirāt,

ُّ َ َ ُ ُ ُ َ َ
ْ
faces.
،‫ﺮات‬ ِ ‫ﺎﺟ‬ِ �‫ا‬
ْ
‫�ُﺴﺎﻗُﻮن ِﰲ اﻟ َﱪاري و‬
They were driven across deserts and yusāqūna fil barārī wal falawāt,
wastelands, َ َ
ْ
،‫ﻮات‬ ِ ‫اﻟ َﻔ َﻠ‬
ٌ ْ ْ
�‫إ‬ َ �‫ﻮ‬ َ ُ ‫ﺪ�ﻢ َﻣﻐﻠ‬ ِ ‫أﻳ‬
with their hands chained to their 'aydīhim maghlūlatun 'ilal 'a3nāq,
necks,
ْ
،‫ﻨﺎق‬ ِ ‫اﻷﻋ‬

،‫ﻮاق‬ ْ ْ ‫ﻳﻄﺎف‬
ِ ‫�ﻢ ِﰲ اﻷﺳ‬
and were paraded around the yuţāfu bihim fil 'aswāq,
markets. ِِ ُ ُ

ِ ّ ُ ِ ُ ِ‫ﻓَﺎﻟ َﻮﻳ ُﻞ ﻟ‬
‫ﺴ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ة‬ ‫ﺼﺎ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ‫ﻠ‬
Woe be unto the wicked fal waylu lil 3ušātil fussāq,
transgressors!
laqad qatalū biqatlikal islām,
،‫اﻹﺳﻼم‬ْ ‫ﻟﻘ ْﺪ ﻗﺘﻠﻮا ﺑﻘ ْﺘﻠﻚ‬
َ ِ َِ ُ ََ ََ
Certainly, by killing you, they have
killed Islam, َ
‫ﻠﻮة و‬ ‫و ﻋﻄَّﻠُﻮا اﻟﺼ‬
disrupted the truth of prayer and wa 3aţţaluš-šalāta waš-šiyām,
fasting, َ َ َّ َ َ
،‫اﻟﺼﻴﺎم‬
ِ
َ ّ
‫اﻟﺴﻨَﻦ و‬ ُ ‫َو َﻧ َﻘ‬
‫ﻀﻮا‬
revoked the prophetic sunnah and wa naqađhus-sunana wal 'aħkām,
the divine laws, َ َ ُّ
ْ
،‫اﻷﺣﻜﺎم‬
َ
،‫اﻹﻳﻤﺎن‬ ‫ﻮاﻋ َﺪ‬
ِ ‫َو َﻫ َﺪﻣُﻮا َﻗ‬
wa hadamū qawā3idal 'īmān,
ِ
destroyed the pillars of faith,

،‫آن‬ ‫ﺮ‬ْ ‫آﻳﺎت اﻟْﻘ‬ ‫و ﺣﺮﻓُﻮا‬

wa ħarrafū āyātil qur'ān,
ِ ُ ِ
distorted the verses of the Quran,
َّ َ َ
ْ ْ ْ
‫و َﻫﻤ َﻠﺠﻮا ِﰲ اﻟﺒﻐﻲ و‬
and brutally rushed into tyranny and wa hamlajū fil baghyi wal 3udwān,
aggression. َ ِ َ ُ َ
ْ ْ
،‫وان‬
ِ ‫اﻟ ُﻌﺪ‬
laqad 'ašbaħa rasūlul-lāhi šallal-lāhu
�َ ّ ‫ﻮل اﷲِ ﺻ‬ ‫ﺳ‬ ‫ر‬ ‫ﺢ‬ ‫ﺒ‬ ‫أﺻ‬ ْ ‫ﻟﻘ ْﺪ‬
ََ
Certainly, by this event, RasoolAllah
(saw) was wronged, left alone, and
3alayhi wa ālihi mawtūrā,
َ ُ ُ َ َ َ
،ً‫آ� ﻣ ْﻮﺗُﻮرا‬
ِ ِ ‫اﷲ ُ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ و‬
denied vengeance,
َ َ
‫ﻛﺘﺎب اﷲِ ﻋ ّ َﺰوﺟ ّ َﻞ‬ ‫و ﻋﺎد‬
wa 3āda kitābul-lāhi 3azza wa jalla mahjūrā,

ُ ِ َ
the Book of Allah, the mighty and
the majestic, was again abandoned, َ َ َ َ
ْ
،ً‫ﻣﻬﺠﻮرا‬
ُ َ
ْ ‫إذ ﻗﻬ‬ْ ْ
‫ت‬ ‫ﺮ‬
َ ِ ُ ُ ّ َ ‫ﻏﻮ ِد َر اﻟ‬
‫ﻖ‬ ‫ﺤ‬ ُ ‫َو‬
truth was betrayed when you were wa ghūdiral ħaqqu 'idh quhirta maqhūrā,
forcibly overcome,
ْ
،ً‫ﻣﻘ ُﻬﻮرا‬
َ
ْ ْ
‫اﻟﺘﻜﺒﲑ ُو‬ َ ّ َ ‫َو ﻓ ُ ِﻘ َﺪ ِﺑ َﻔ‬
‫ك‬ ‫ﺪ‬
ِ ‫ﻘ‬
And with your loss, call for Allah’s wa fuqida bi faqdikat-takbīru wat-tahlīl,
glorification and His Unity, َ
،‫ﻠﻴﻞ‬ ْ
ُ �‫اﻟ‬ َّ

His prohibitions, sanctions,
ta'wīl,

revelation, and interpretation were

ُ ‫اﻟﺘﺄ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﺰﻳﻞ‬
ُ ‫اﻟﺘﻨ‬
lost.

ْ ْ
‫اﻟﺘﻐﻴﲑ ُو‬ َ ّ َ َ ‫ﻇ َﻬ َﺮ َﺑ‬
‫ك‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ َ ‫َو‬
After you, alteration, distortion, wa đahara ba3dakat-taghyīru wat-tabdīl, wal

َ
'ilħādu wat-ta3ţīl, wal 'ahwā'u wal 'ađhālīl,
infidelity, abandonment of the
ْ
wal fitanu wal 'abāţīl,

‫ و اﻹﻟﺤﺎد و‬،‫ﺪﻳﻞ‬ ُ ‫اﻟﺘ ْﺒ‬

Islamic laws, vagary, misguidance,
turmoil and falsehood became َُ َ َّ
ْ ْ
‫ و اﻷﻫﻮاء و‬،‫ﻄﻴﻞ‬ ‫اﻟﺘﻌ‬
prevalent.
َُ َ ُ َّ
ْ
‫ و اﻟ ِﻔﺘﻦ و‬،‫اﻷﺿﺎﻟﻴﻞ‬
َُ َ َ ُ
،‫اﻷﺑﺎﻃﻴﻞ‬
ُ
ْ ْ
‫ﱪ ﺟ ِّﺪ َك‬ ‫ﻓَﻘﺎم ﻧﺎﻋﻴﻚ ﻋﻨﺪ ﻗ‬
faqāma nā3īka 3inda qabri jaddikar-rasūli,

َ ِ َ َ ِ َ
The announcer of your martyrdom
َ
šallal-lāhu 3layhi wa ālih,
came near the grave of your
‫ﻮل ﺻ ّ َ� اﷲ ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ و‬ ‫اﻟﺮﺳ‬
grandfather, the Messenger (saw),
َ َُ َ ِ ُ َّ
،�‫آ‬
ِِ
ْ ْ
،‫ﻮل‬ ْ
ِ ُ ‫ﺎ�ﻣ ِﻊ ا�َﻄ‬
َ ّ ‫ﻌﺎك إﻟَﻴ ِﻪ ِﺑ‬
َ َ‫ﻓَﻨ‬
gave the news to him with tears fana3āka 'ilayhi biddam3il haţūli, qā'ilan:
flowing, saying:
:‫ﻗﺎ�ﻼ‬
ِ

‫ﻚ‬ ْ
َ ُ ‫ ﻗ ُ ِﺘ َﻞ ِﺳﺒﻄ‬،ِ‫ﻮل اﷲ‬
َ ‫ﻳﺎ َر ُﺳ‬
0 RasoolAllah (saw)! Your brave ya rasūlal-lāh, qutila sibţuka wa fatāk,
grandson was slain,
،‫ﺘﺎك‬
َ َ‫َو ﻓ‬
ْ ْ ‫و‬
،‫ﺎك‬
َ �ِ ‫ﻚ َو‬ َُ ‫ﺒﻴﺢ أﻫﻠ‬ ‫اﺳ ُﺘ‬
and abuse of your family and was-tubīħa 'ahluka wa ħimāk,
supporters were deemed lawful. َ َ
ْ ْ
،‫رارﻳﻚ‬ ‫ذ‬ ‫ك‬ ‫ﺪ‬
َ ‫َو ُﺳ ِﺒ َﻴﺖ َﺑ‬
‫ﻌ‬
After you, your progeny were wa subiyat ba3daka dharārīk,
captured, َ َ َ
ْ ْ ْ
‫ﻚ‬َ ِ َ ِ ِ ُ ُ ‫َو َو َﻗ َﻊ اﻟ َﻤ‬
‫ﺗ‬ ‫ﱰ‬ ‫ﻌ‬‫ﺑ‬ ‫ور‬ ‫ﺬ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
and adversity befell your family and wa waqa3al maħdhūru bi3itratika wa
dhawīk,
your offspring.
،‫وﻳﻚ‬
َ ‫و َذ‬
َ

Indeed, the Messenger (saw) became fanza3ajar-rasūl, wa bakā qalbuhul mahūl,

،‫ﻮل‬ ُ ‫َﻗﻠﺒُﻪ ُاﻟ َﻤ ُﻬ‬
wept,

‫ﻜﺔ ُو‬ �‫ﻼ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫و ﻋﺰاه ﺑﻚ اﻟ‬
wa 3azzāhu bikal malā'ikatu wal 'anbiyā',

َ َ ِ َ َ ُِ ّ َ َ
The Angels and the prophets offered
their condolences to him for your
ْ
،‫اﻷﻧ ِﺒﻴﺎء‬
martyrdom,
ُ
ْ
‫ﻚ‬َ ُ ّ َ ِ ‫َو ﻓ ُ ِﺠ َﻌ‬
‫ﻣ‬ ُ ‫ا‬ ‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﺖ‬

and the dark-eyed Maidens of

faces in grief,

ُ ‫ﻜ‬ّ ‫ﺖ اﻟﺴﻤﺎء و ﺳ‬

The skies and their inhabitants wept, wa bakatis-samā'u wa sukkānuhā,

،‫ا�ﺎ‬ ُ ‫َو اﻟ ِﺠﻨﺎنُ َو ﺧُ ّﺰ‬
as did Paradise and its keepers, wal jinānu wa khuzzānuhā,

the mountains and their wal hiđhābu wa 'aqţāruhā,
surroundings, ُ َ ُ َ

،‫ﺣﻴﺘﺎ�ﺎ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﺤﺎر‬ ‫ﺒ‬ ‫و اﻟ‬
wal biħāru wa ħītānuhā,

the oceans and their fishes,

the Sacred Monument, wal mash3arul ħarām,

،‫اﻹﺣﺮام‬ ‫و اﻟ ِﺤ ّ ُﻞ و‬
and Mecca and its sanctuary. wal ħillu wal iħrām,

‫ﻜﺎن‬‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻫﺬا اﻟ‬ ‫ﺤ ْﺮﻣ ِﺔ‬ ‫اﻟﻠ� ﻓﺒ‬
allāhumma fabiħurmati hadhal makānil

O Allah! By the sanctity of this

exalted place (the tomb of Imam al-

bestow blessings upon Muhammad šalli 3alā muħammadin wa āli muħammad,
and the family of Muhammad,
،‫ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ‬

،‫� ْﻢ‬
ِِ ‫�� ﰲ ُزﻣﺮ‬ ْ ‫اﺣ‬
assemble me in their company, waħshurnī fī zumratihim,

‫ﺧﻠ ِﻨﻲ اﻟﺠﻨّ َ َﺔ‬ ِ ‫َو أد‬
and admit me to Paradise by their wa 'adkhilnil jannata bi shafā3atihim,
intercession. َ

‫ﻚ ﻳﺎ‬ ْ

My Allah! I implore You, O He who allāhumma 'innī 'atawassalu 'ilayka yā
'asra3al ħāsibīn,
is the quickest of the reckoners!

wa 'al-ħiqnī biš-šālihīn,

Join me with the righteous,

‫واﺟﻌﻞ � ﻟِﺴﺎن ِﺻﺪ ٍق ِﰲ‬
Ordain for me offspring with waj3al lī lisāna šidqin fil ākhirīn,
truthful tongue among the last َ َ َ
،‫اﻵﺧﺮﻳﻦ‬ ِ
generation,

،َ‫واﻧﺼ ْﺮ� ﻋ َ� اﻟﺒﺎﻏﲔ‬
Make me victorious over the wanšurnī 3alal bāghīn,
transgressors, َ ُ َ

،‫ﺤﺎﺳﺪﻳﻦ‬ ِ ‫ﻛﻴ َﺪ اﻟ‬ ‫ﻨﻲ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫اﻛ‬ ‫و‬
wakfinī kaydal ħāsidīn,

Suffice me the deception of the
envious, َ َ

‫اﺻ ِﺮف ﻋﻨّﻲ ﻣﻜﺮ‬ ‫و‬
Turn away from me the evil plans of wašrif 3annī makral mākirīn,

،‫ﻛﺮﻳﻦ‬ ِ ‫اﻟﻤﺎ‬

ْ ‫ﺾ ﻋﻨﻲ‬ ْ ْ
‫أﻳ ِﺪي‬ ‫واﻗ ِﺒ‬
Hold back from me the hands of the waqbiđh 3annī 'aydiyađ-đālimīn,
oppressors, َ ّ َ َ
َ ِ‫اﻟﻈّﺎﻟ‬
،‫ﻤﲔ‬
ْ ْ ‫ا� ْﻊ ﺑ‬ ْ
‫اﻟﺴﺎد ِة‬ ‫ﲔ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﻨﻲ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫و‬
Gather me with the blessed masters wajma3 baynī wa baynas-sādatil mayāmīni fī

'a3lā 3illiyyīn,
in the utmost exalted place of

،‫ﲔ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻠ‬
ّ ِ ‫ﻋ‬ ِ ‫ﻼ‬ ‫أﻋ‬ ‫ﰲ‬ ‫ﻴﺎﻣﲔ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫اﻟ‬
Heaven,

ْ ‫أﻧﻌ ْﻤﺖ ﻋﻠ‬ ْ
‫� ْﻢ‬
ِ َ َ َ َ ‫ﻳﻦ‬ �‫ا‬َ ّ ‫ﻣﻊ‬
along with whom You have ma3al-ladhīna 'an3amta 3alayhim minal

َ ََ
nabiyyīna waš-šiddīqīna wash-shuhadā'i
bestowed favor, from among the waš-šāliħīn,

‫ﻳﻘﲔ و‬ ‫اﻟﺼ ّﺪ‬ ّ ِ ‫ﲔ َو‬ َ ‫ﻦ اﻟﻨّ َ ِﺒ ّﻴ‬ ‫ِﻣ‬

prophets, the truthful, the martyrs,
and the righteous, َ َ َ
،‫ﺤﲔ‬
َ ِ‫اﻟﺼﺎﻟ‬ ّ ‫اﻟﺸ َﻬﺪا ِء َو‬ ُّ

by Your definite judgment, and wa biħukmikal maħtūm, wa nuhyakal

Your concealed preventive wisdom,

divert from me the harm of the wa tašrifa 3annī sharral qadaril maħtūm,

ِ ‫ﺎر‬ِ ّ‫ﻦ اﻟﻨ‬ ‫ﺠﲑ� ِﻣ‬

and give me refuge from the Hellfire wa tujīrani minan-nāri dhātis-samūm,
with scorching winds. َ
،‫ﻮم‬
ِ ‫اﻟﺴ ُﻤ‬
َّ
ْ ْ
،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ‫ﻨ‬‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻨﻲ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ّ‫ﺟ ِﻠ‬ �‫اﻟﻠ‬
allāhumma jallilnī bini3matik,
َ ِ َ ِ ِ َ َّ ُ ّ َ
O Allah! Honor me with Your
bounties,

،‫ﻚ‬ ْ
َ ‫َو َر ِّﺿﻨﻲ ِﺑ َﻘﺴ ِﻤ‬
Make me content with Your wa rađhđhinnī bi-qasmik,
apportionment,

Encompass me with Your wa taghammadnī bijūdika wa karamik,

‫ﻦ ﻣﻜ ِﺮ َك و‬ ‫ﺑﺎﻋﺪ� ِﻣ‬ ِ ‫َو‬
And keep me far off from Your wa bā3idnī min makrika wa niqmatik,
requital scheme and Your wrath. َ َ

،‫ﻚ‬ َ َ ‫ِﻧ‬ ‫ﺘ‬
ِ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻘ‬
ْ ْ
،‫اﻟﺰﻟَ ِﻞ‬ َّ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫اَﻟﻠّ ُ� ّ َاﻋ ِﺼﻤﻨﻲ ِﻣ‬
O Allah! Protect me from errors, allāhumma3-šimnī minaz-zalal,

،‫ﺳﺪد� ِﰲ اﻟ َﻘﻮ ِل و اﻟﻌﻤ ِﻞ‬ ِّ ‫َو‬
Make me firm in speech and action, wa saddidnī fil qawli wal 3amal,

،‫واﻓﺴ ْﺢ � ﰲ ﻣ ّ َﺪ ِة اﻷﺟ ِﻞ‬
Extend for me the period of life, wafsaħ lī fī muddatil 'ajal,

ْ ‫اﻋﻔﻨﻲ ﻣﻦ‬ ْ
‫ﺟﺎع و‬ ِ ‫اﻷو‬ ‫و‬
wa3finī minal 'awjā3i wal 3ilal,

Relieve me from pain and ailments,

،‫اﻟ ِﻌ َﻠ ِﻞ‬

‫ﻮا� و‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻨﻲ‬ ‫ﻐ‬ ّ‫َو َﺑ ِﻠ‬
wa ballighnī bimawāliyya wa bifađhlika

Make me achieve, through my
'afđhalal 'amal,
masters and Your grace, the best of

،‫ﻷﻣ ِﻞ‬ ‫ا‬ ‫ﻞ‬‫ﻀ‬ ‫أﻓ‬ ‫ﻚ‬‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﻀ‬ ‫ﺑﻔ‬

wishes.

O Allah! Bless Muhammad and the allāhumma šalli 3alā muħammadin wa āli
muħammad waqbal tawbati,

family of Muhammad and accept my
،‫ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ و اﻗﺒﻞ َﺗ ْﻮﺑﺘﻲ‬
repentance and my return,
َ َ َ َ ُ
ْ ْ ْ
،�‫ﱪ‬ َ ‫ﺣﻢ َﻋ‬ ‫وار‬
Have mercy upon my weeping, warħam 3abratī,

َ َ
ْ ْ
،�‫و أ ِﻗﻠﻨﻲ ﻋﺜﺮ‬
Lessen my lapses, wa 'aqilnī 3athratī,

َ َ َ
،‫و َﻧ ِّﻔ ْﺲ ﻛُ ْﺮﺑﺘﻲ‬
Relieve my distress, wa naffis kurbatī,

َ َ
ْ ‫اﻏ ِﻔ‬ ْ
،‫ﻄﻴﺌﺘﻲ‬ ‫ﺧ‬ � ‫ﺮ‬ ‫و‬
Forgive me my mistake, waghfir lī khaţī'ati,

And improve my righteousness wa 'ašliħ lī fī dhurriyyatī,
،‫أﺻ ِﻠ ْﺢ � ﰲ ذ ُ ِّر ّ َﻳﺘﻲ‬ ْ ‫و‬
through my children. َ

allāhumma lā tada3 lī fī hādhal mash-hadil

My Allah! Do not leave for me, in
mu3ađđami wal maħallil mukkarrami
this exalted and honored place of

dhanban 'illā ghafartah,

‫اﻟﻤﺸ َﻬ ِﺪ اﻟ ُﻤﻌﻈ ِﻢ و اﻟﻤﺤ ّ ِﻞ‬ َ ّ

martyrdom, any sin but that You
forgive, َ َ َ َ َ
ً ْ ْ
،ُ‫ﻜﺮ ِم َذﻧﺒﺎ إﻻّ َﻏ َﻔ ْﺮ َﺗﻪ‬ َ ‫اﻟ ُﻤ‬
َّ
ْ ً
،ُ‫ﻻ ﺳ َﱰ َﺗﻪ‬ ّ ‫و ﻻ َﻋ ْﻴﺒﺎ إ‬
Nor any defect but that You conceal, wa lā 3ayban 'illā satartah,

،ُ‫ﻛ َﺸﻔﺘﻪ‬ ‫و ﻻ َﻏ ّﻤﺎ إﻻ‬
wa lā ghamman 'illā kashaftah,
َ ّ
Nor any grief but that You remove,
َ َ
ْ ً ْ
،ُ‫ﻻ �َﺴﻄﺘﻪ‬ ‫و ﻻ ِرزﻗﺎ إ‬
wa lā rizqan 'illā basaţtah,
ّ
Nor any rizq (sustenance) but that
You extend, َ َ َ
ً
،ُ‫و ﻻ ﺟﺎﻫﺎ إﻻّ ﻋﻤ ْﺮ َﺗﻪ‬
Nor any spiritual status but that You wa lā jāhan 'illā 3amartah,
cause to prosper, َ َ َ
ْ ْ
،ُ‫أﺻ َﻠﺤﺘﻪ‬ ‫ﻻ‬ ‫و ﻻ ﻓَﺴﺎدا ًإ‬
wa lā fasādan 'illā 'ašlaħtah,
ّ
Nor any corruption but that which
You correct, َ َ
ْ
،ُ‫ﻻ ﺑ ّﻠَﻐﺘﻪ‬ ‫و ﻻ أﻣﻼ ًإ‬
wa lā 'amalan 'illā ballaghtah,

َ َّ
Nor any wish but that You fulfill,
َ َ
،ُ‫ﻻ أﺟ ْﺒﺘﻪ‬ ‫و ﻻ دﻋﺎء ًإ‬
wa lā du3ā'an 'illā 'ajabtah,

َ َ ّ
Nor any supplication but that You
answer, ُ َ
ْ ً
،ُ‫ﻻ ﻓَﺮﺟﺘﻪ‬ ‫و ﻻ ﻣﻀﻴﻘﺎ إ‬
wa lā mađhīqan 'illā farrajtah,
ّ
Nor any pressure but that You
relieve, َ َّ َ َ
ْ ْ
،ُ‫و ﻻ َ�ﻼ ًإﻻّ َ�ﻌﺘﻪ‬
Nor any dispersed believers but that wa lā shamlan 'illā jama3tah,
You reunify, َ َ َ
ْ ْ
،ُ‫ﻻ أﺗﻤﻤﺘﻪ‬ ‫أﻣﺮا ًإ‬ ْ ‫وﻻ‬
wa lā 'amran 'illā 'atmamtah,
ّ
Nor any matter but that You
complete, َ َ َ
ً
،ُ‫ﻛﺜّ َ ْﺮ َﺗﻪ‬ َ ‫ﻻ‬ ّ ‫و ﻻ ﻣﺎﻻ إ‬
Nor any wealth but that You wa lā mālan 'illā kath-thartah,
increase, َ
ْ ً ْ
،ُ‫ﺴﻨﺘﻪ‬ ‫ﺣ‬ ‫ﻻ‬ ‫إ‬ ‫و ﻻ ﺧُﻠﻘﺎ‬
wa lā khulqan 'illā ħassantah,
ّ
Nor any character but that You
improve, َ َّ َ َ
ْ ْ ً ْ
،ُ‫ﻻ أﺧ َﻠﻔﺘﻪ‬ ‫و ﻻ إﻧﻔﺎﻗﺎ إ‬
wa lā 'infāqan 'illā 'akhlaftah,
ّ
Nor any charity but that You repay,
َ َ
،ُ‫ﻻ ﻋﻤ ْﺮ َﺗﻪ‬ ‫و ﻻ ﺣﺎﻻ ًإ‬
wa lā ħālan 'illā 3amartah,
ّ
Nor any condition but that You
cause to improve, َ َ َ

،ُ‫ﻻ َﻗﻤﻌﺘﻪ‬ ‫و ﻻ ﺣﺴﻮدا ًإ‬
wa lā ħasūdan 'illā qama3tah,

Nor any envious one but that You
suppress, َ َ ُ َ َ

Nor any enemy but that You wa lā 3aduwwan 'illā 'ardaytah,
،ُ‫أرد ْﻳﺘﻪ‬ ْ ّ‫و ﻻ ﻋﺪوا ًإﻻ‬
destroy, َ َ ُّ َ َ

،ُ‫ﻛ َﻔ ْﻴﺘﻪ‬ ‫و ﻻ َﺷﺮا ًإﻻ‬

Nor any evil but that You suffice,
Nor any ailment but that You cure,
wa lā sharran 'illā kafaytah,

َ ّ َ
ً
،ُ‫و ﻻ ﻣﺮﺿﺎ إﻻّ َﺷ َﻔ ْﻴﺘﻪ‬
wa lā marađhan 'illā shafaytah,

َ َ َ َ
ْ
،ُ‫ﻻ أد َﻧ ْﻴﺘﻪ‬ ‫و ﻻ ﺑﻌﻴﺪا ًإ‬
wa lā ba3īdan 'illā 'adnaytah,
ّ
Nor any distant one but that You
bring near, َ َ َ

،ُ‫ﻻ ﻟَﻤﻤﺘﻪ‬ ‫و ﻻ َﺷﻌﺜﺎ إ‬
wa lā sha3athan 'illā lamamtah,
ّ
Nor any scattering but that You
reunite, َ َ َ َ

ّ‫و ﻻ ﺳﺆاﻻ ]ﺳﺆﻻ[ إﻻ‬
Nor any request but that You grant. wa lā su'ālan [su'lan] 'illā 'a3ţaytah,

،ُ‫ﻄ ْﻴﺘﻪ‬ َ ‫أﻋ‬

ْ ْ �‫اﻟﻠ� إ‬
‫ﲑ‬ ‫ﺧ‬ ‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﺌ‬ ‫أﺳ‬
allāhumma 'innī 'as'aluka khayral 3ajilah,
ُ ّ َّ ُ ّ َ
O Allah! I ask You for the goodness
of this transitory world, َ َ َ َ

،ِ�َ ‫ﻌﺎﺟ‬ ِ ‫اﻟ‬

،ِ�َ ‫اﻵﺟ‬ ‫و َﺛﻮاب‬

wa thawabal ājilah,
ِ
and the reward of the hereafter.

ِ َ َ ِ َ ِ ِ َ ّ �ُ ‫اَﻟ ّﻠ‬
‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﻼ‬ ‫ﺤ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻨﻲ‬ ‫ﻨ‬ ‫أﻏ‬
O Allah! Suffice me with what You allāhumma 'aghninī biħalālika 3anil ħarām,
made lawful from the unlawful,

،‫ﺮام‬
ِ ‫اﻟ َﺤ‬
ْ ‫ﻀﻠﻚ ﻋ‬ ْ
،‫اﻷﻧﺎم‬ ‫ﻴﻊ‬
ِ �َ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫و ِﺑ َﻔ‬
wa bifađhlika 3an jamī3il 'anām,
ِ ِ
and with Your grace from all other
creatures. َ َ َ
ً ْ ْ
‫ﻚ ِﻋﻠﻤﺎ‬َُ ‫إ� أﺳ َﺌﻠ‬ ّ َ ّ �ُ ‫اَﻟ ّﻠ‬
My Allah! I ask You for beneficial allāhumma 'innī 'as'aluka 3ilman nāfi3ā,
knowledge,
ً
،‫ﻧﺎﻓِﻌﺎ‬
ً ً ْ
،‫ﺧﺎﺷﻌﺎ‬
ِ ‫َو َﻗﻠﺒﺎ‬
a humble heart, wa qalban khāshi3ā,

ً ً
،‫و ﻳﻘﻴﻨﺎ ﺷﺎﻓِﻴﺎ‬
unequivocal certitude, wa yaqīnan shāfiyā,

َ َ
ً
،‫ﻛﻴﺎ‬
ِ ‫َو َﻋ َﻤﻼ زا‬
pure action, wa 3amalan zākiyā,

beautiful patience, wa šabran jamīlā,

and a bountiful reward. wa ajran 'jazīlā,

‫ﺷﻜﺮ‬ ‫ﻨﻲ‬ ‫ﻗ‬ ‫اَﻟﻠّ ُ� ّ َار ُز‬
O Allah! Grant me gratitude of Your allāhummarzuqnī shukra ni3matika 3alayy,
blessing upon me, َ ُ

،�َ ‫ﻚ ﻋ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ‫ﻧ‬
َّ َ َ َ ِ ِ
ْ ‫و ز ْد ﰲ‬
‫ﻚ‬‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻛ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻧ‬ ‫ﺴﺎ‬ ‫إﺣ‬
wa zid fī 'iħsānika wa karamika 'ilayy,

Increase Your favor and
munificence on me, َ َ َ َ
،�‫إ‬
َّ َ
ْ ْ ْ
‫ﺎس‬ ِ ّ‫َو اﺟ َﻌﻞ َﻗﻮ� ِﰲ اﻟﻨ‬
Make my speech amongst people waj3al qawlī fin-nāsi masmū3ā,
effective,
ً
،‫ﻣ ْﺴ ُﻤﻮﻋﺎ‬
َ
ً ْ
،‫و ﻋﻤ� ِﻋﻨ َﺪ َك ﻣ ْﺮﻓُﻮﻋﺎ‬
my deeds elevated and worthy of wa 3amalī 3indaka marfū3ā,
being delivered to You, َ َ َ َ
ْ ْ
‫ات‬ ِ ‫ﺨﲑ‬ َ ‫أﺛﺮي ِﰲ اﻟ‬ َ ‫َو‬
my righteous works followed by wa 'atharī fil khayrāti matbū3ā,
others,
ً ْ
،‫ﻣﺘﺒﻮﻋﺎ‬
ُ َ
ً ْ
،‫ﺪ ّوي ﻣﻘ ُﻤﻮﻋﺎ‬ ُ ‫َو َﻋ‬
and my enemy quelled, wa 3aduwwī maqmū3ā,

َ
‫آل‬
ِ ‫اَﻟﻠّ ُ� ّ َ َﺻ ّ ِﻞ َﻋ� ﻣُ َﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ َو‬
O Allah! Send blessings upon allāhumma šalli 3alā muħammadin wa āli
muħammadinil 'akhyār, fī ānā'il-layli wa
Muhammad (saw) and the family of
ْ
'aţrāfin-nahār,

‫ ﰲ آﻧﺎ ِء‬،‫ﻴﺎر‬ ِ ‫ﻣُ َﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ اﻷﺧ‬

Muhammad (asws), the best of the
creations, day and night,
ْ ْ
،‫ﺎر‬
ِ �‫اﻟ‬
َ ّ ‫ﺮاف‬ ِ ‫اﻟﻠَّﻴ ِﻞ َو أﻃ‬
ْ ْ
،‫ﺮار‬
ِ ‫َو اﻛ ِﻔﻨﻲ َﺷ ّ َﺮ اﻷﺷ‬
Spare me from the evil of the wakfinī sharral ashrār,
wicked,

‫ﻮب و‬ ‫ا�ُﻧ‬ ‫ﻃ ِّﻬ ْﺮ� ِﻣﻦ‬ َ ‫َو‬

wa ţahhirnī minadh-dhunūbi wal awzār,
ِ ّ
Purify me from sins and burdens,
َ ُ َ
،‫زار‬ ْ
ِ ‫اﻷو‬

Give me refuge from Hell-fire, wa 'ajirnī minan-nār,

ِ َ ‫داراﻟ‬‫ﻘ‬ ‫أﺣ ّﻠَﻨﻲ‬
ِ ‫َو‬
Settle me in the House of rest wa 'aħillanī dāral qarār,
(Paradise), َ
ْ ْ
�‫ﻤﻴﻊ إﺧﻮا‬ ِ ‫و اﻏ ِﻔ ْﺮ � و ﻟِﺠ‬
And forgive me and all my faithful waghfir lī wa lijamī3i 'ikhwāni fīka wa

َ َ َ
'akhawātiyal mu'minīna wal mu'mināt,
brothers and sisters,
ْ ْ
‫ﻨﲔ و‬ ‫ﻣ‬ِ ‫ﺆ‬ ‫ﻮا� اﻟ ُﻤ‬ ‫ﻓﻴﻚ و أﺧ‬
َ َ َ ِ َ َ َ
ْ ْ
،‫ﻨﺎت‬
ِ ‫اﻟ ُﻤﺆ ِﻣ‬
biraħmatika yā 'arħamar-rāħimīn.
‫ﲔ‬ �‫ا‬
ِ ‫اﻟﺮ‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ‫ﺣ‬ ْ ‫ﺑﺮ ْ�ﺘﻚ ﻳﺎ‬
‫أر‬ َ َِ َ ِ
By Your mercy, O the most merciful
of the merciful! َ ّ َ َ

SUPPLICATION IN THE QUNUT OF

THE PRAYER AFTER ZIYARAT
Then stand beside the upper side of the grave, face towards the Qibla and perform a two-unit Ziyarat
prayer. Recite Chapter 21 (al-Anbiya) in the first unit and Chapter 59 (al-Hashr) in the second unit of
the prayer, and recite the following supplication in the Qunut of the prayer:

،�‫�ﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻻَاﷲ ُاﻟ َﺤﻠ� ُاﻟ‬
ّ ‫ﻻإ� إ‬
There is no god except Allah, the lā 'ilāha 'llal-lāhul ħalīmul

ُ َ
forbearing, the generous. karīm,

ْ ْ
،�‫� اﻟﻌﻈ‬ ‫ﻻَاﷲ اﻟﻌ‬ّ ‫ﻻإ� إ‬
There is no god except Allah, Most High lā 'ilāha 'llal-lāhul 3aliyyul

ُ َ ُّ ِ َ ُ َ
Most Great (Aliul Azeem) 3ađīm,

‫اﻟﺴ ْﺒ ِﻊ و‬ ‫اﻟﺴﻤﺎوات‬َّ ‫ب‬ ُ ّ ‫ﻻَاﷲ ُ َر‬ّ ‫ﻻإ� إ‬

lā 'ilāha 'llal-lāhu rabbus-

َ َّ ِ
There is no god exceptAllah, the Lord of
َ
the seven heavens and the seven earths, samāwātis-sab3i wal
'arađhīnas-sab3,
،‫اﻟﺴ ْﺒ ِﻊ‬َ ّ ‫ﺿﲔ‬
َ ‫اﻷر‬
َ
and whatever is in them and whatever is wa mā fīhinna wa mā
،‫ﻦ‬ �‫ﻴ‬ْ ‫و ﻣﺎ ﻓ�ﻦ و ﻣﺎ ﺑ‬
between them. baynahunn,
َّ ُ َ َ َ َّ ِ َ
ْ ً
،‫ﺪا� ِﻪ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﺧﻼﻓﺎ ِﻷ‬
khilāfan li 'a3dā'ih,
ِ ِ
By this, I am opposing the belief of His
enemies,

disavowing whomever has turned away wa takdhīban liman 3adala ْ
،‫و َﺗﻜﺬﻳﺒﺎ ﻟِﻤﻦ ﻋ َﺪ َل ِﺑ ِﻪ‬

from Him, bih,

ً ‫إﻗﺮارا‬ ْ
،‫ﻮﺑ ّﻴَ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫و‬
wa 'iqrāran lirubūbiyyatih,
ِ ُ ُ ِ
confessing His Lordship,
َ
ً
،‫ﻀﻮﻋﺎ ﻟِ ِﻌ ّ َﺰ ِﺗ ِﻪ‬ ُ ُ‫َو ﺧ‬
and surrendering to His majesty. wa khuđhū'an li 3izzatih,

ْ
،‫أول‬ َ ّ ِ ‫ل ِﺑ َﻐ‬
‫ﲑ‬ ُ ‫اﻷو‬
He is the first without being first al'awwalu bighayri 'awwal
َّ
ْ
،‫آﺧﺮ‬ ِ ‫ﲑ‬ ِ ‫اﻵﺧ ُﺮ إ� َﻏ‬ ‫و‬
wal ākhiru 'ilā ghayri ākhir,
ِ
He is the last without having an end.
َ
ْ ْ ‫اﻟﻈّﺎﻫﺮ ﻋ� ﻛ ّﻞ‬
،‫�ء ِﺑ ُﻘﺪر ِﺗ ِﻪ‬

He is Zahir (apparent) over everything by

His power. biqudratih,

،‫ُ ّ ِ َ ء ِﺑ ِﻌﻠ ِﻤ ِﻪ و ﻟُﻄ ِﻔ ِﻪ‬ ‫ﻞ‬ ‫ﻛ‬ ‫ون‬ ‫د‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﻃ‬ ‫ﺒﺎ‬ ‫اﻟ‬
al-bāţinu dūna kulli shay'in
َ ُ ُ ِ
He is Batin (hidden) as He knows the
َ
inner workings of every thing by His bi3ilmihi wa luţfih,
knowledge and His subtlety.
ْ ْ
،‫ﻈﻤ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﻨ‬‫ﻛ‬ � ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻮل‬ ‫ﻘ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ‫ﻻ ﺗﻘﻒ اﻟ‬
Intellects cannot comprehend the depth of lā taqiful 3uqūlu 3alā kunhi
His grandeur. 3ađamatih,
ََ َ ِ ُ َ ُ ُ ُ ُ َِ
wa lā tudrikul 'awhāmu
،‫ﻣﺎﻫ ّﻴَ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬ ‫ﺔ‬ ‫ﻘﻴﻘ‬ ‫ﺣ‬ ‫ﻫﺎم‬ ْ ‫و ﻻ ﺗ ْﺪرك‬
‫اﻷو‬
ِ َ َ َ ُ ُ ِ ُ َ
Thoughts cannot grasp the reality of His
Essence. ħaqīqata māhiyyatih,

ْ
،‫ﻛ ْﻴ ِﻔ ّﻴَ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬
َ َ�‫ﻌﺎ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺲ‬ ‫ﻔ‬‫اﻷﻧ‬ ‫و ﻻ َﺗﺘﺼ ّ َﻮر‬
Souls cannot imagine the meanings of His wa lā tatašawwarul 'anfusu
qualities. ma3āni kayfiyyatih,
ِ َ ُ ُ ُ َ َ َ
ً ّ
،‫ﻤﺎ� ِﺮ‬
ِ ‫اﻟﻀ‬ َ ّ �َ ‫ﻄ َ ِﻠﻌﺎ َﻋ‬ ‫ﻣ‬
He knows well the innermost thoughts of muţţali3an 3alađh-đhamā'ir,
His servants,
ُ
ً
،‫ا� ِﺮ‬
ِ �‫ﺎﻟ‬ َ ّ ‫ﻋﺎرﻓﺎ ِﺑ‬
3ārifan bis-sarā'ir,
ِ
is cognizant of the secrets,

ْ ْ ْ
‫ﲔ و ﻣﺎ ﺗُﺨ ِﻔﻰ‬ ‫ﺧﺎ�ﻨَ َﺔ اﻷﻋ‬ ‫ﻳﻌ َﻠﻢ‬
ya3lamu khā'inatal 'a3yuni
ِ
and knows the treachery of the eyes, and
all that the hearts of men conceal. wa mā tukhfiš-šudūr,
َ ِ ُ ُ َ
،‫ﺪور‬ ‫اﻟﺼ‬
ُ ُ ُّ
ْ ‫اﻟﻠ� إ� ا ْﺷﻬﺪك ﻋ� ﺗ‬
‫ﺼﺪﻳﻘﻲ‬
allāhumma 'innī 'ush-hiduka
َ َ َ ُ ِ ُ ّ َّ ُ ّ َ
My Allah! I bear You as witness of my
acknowledgement of Your Messenger 3alā tašdīqī rasūlaka šallal-
lāhu 3layhi wa ālih wa 'īmānī
ِ ِ ‫ﻚ ﺻ ّ َ� اﷲ ُ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ و‬
(PBUH&HF) and my faith in him,

‫آ� و‬ ‫رﺳﻮﻟ‬

I testify that he was the Prophet by whose wa 'innī 'ash-hadu 'annahun-
favor wisdom was given voice, nabiyyul-ladhi naţaqatil ِ ََ َ ُ ّ ِ َّ ُ َّ ُ َ
ħikmatu bifađhlih,
ْ ْ ْ
،ِ�ِ ‫اﻟ ِﺤﻜﻤﺔ ُ ِﺑ َﻔﻀ‬

،‫ت اﻷﻧ ِﺒﻴﺎء ِﺑ ِﻪ‬ ِ � َ ّ َ � ‫َو‬
of whom previous prophets gave glad wa bash-sharatil 'anbiyā'u

ُ َ
tidings, bih,

ْ ْ
،‫ﺮار ِﺑﻤﺎ ﺟﺎء ِﺑ ِﻪ‬ ‫إ� اﻹﻗ‬ ‫و دﻋ ﺖ‬
wa da3at 'ilal 'iqrāri bimā
ِ َ
called people to admit what he brought
َ َ َ َ
from the Lord, jā'a bih,

ْ
،‫و ﺣﺜَّﺖ ﻋ� َﺗ ْﺼﺪﻳ ِﻘ ِﻪ‬
and urged people to acknowledge him, wa ħath-that 3alā tašdīqih,
َ َ َ
biqawlihi ta'ālā: alladhīna
‫وﻧ ُﻪ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﺠ‬ ‫ﻳ‬ ‫ي‬ � َ ّ ‫ا‬ �‫ﻌﺎ‬ ‫ﺗ‬ �
ِ ‫ﻮ‬ ْ ‫ﺑﻘ‬
ِ َ ِ َِ
according to His saying, the most high,
“… he, whom they find mentioned in their yajidūnahu maktūban
َ ُ َ » : َ
3indahum fit-tawrāti wal
ْ ً ْ
ْ ْ
Torah and the Gospels, who commands
'injīli ya'muruhum bil
‫اﻟﺘﻮرﻳ ِﺔ و‬ َ ّ ‫ِ َ ُ ِﰲ‬ � ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻨ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻮﺑﺎ‬ ُ ‫َﻣ‬
‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﻜ‬
َ
them virtuous acts and forbids them evil,
allows them as lawful the good (and pure) ma3rūfi wa yanhāhum 3anil
munkari wa yuħillu lahumuţ-
ْ ْ ْ ْ ْ
‫و‬ ‫وف‬ ِ � ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺎﻟ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ � ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺄ‬ ‫ﻳ‬ ‫ﺠﻴﻞ‬ ‫اﻹﻧ‬
ُ َ ِ ُ ُ ُ َ ِ
things, prohibits them from impurities, and
ţayyibāti wa yuħarrimu
releases them from their heavy burdens َ
ْ ْ
3alayhimul khabā'itha wa

� ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﻞ‬ ُ ‫ﺤ‬ ‫ﻳ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻜ‬ ‫ﻨ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ْ ��ْ ‫ﻳ‬
and from the yokes that are upon them ...” yađha3u 3anhum 'išrahum
َ ّ ِ َ
ُُ ُ َ ِ ُ ِ َ ُ َ
wal 'aghlālal-lati kānat
3alayhim,
ْ ْ ‫اﻟﻄَّﻴﺒﺎت و ﻳﺤﺮم ﻋﻠ‬
‫ﺚو‬ �‫ﺒﺎ‬
ِ ‫ﺨ‬ ‫�ﻢ اﻟ‬ ِ ِّ
َ َ َ ُ َ َ ُ ِّ َ ُ َ
ِ
ْ ْ�‫إﺻﺮ‬ ْ ‫ﻳﻀﻊ ﻋ ْ� ْﻢ‬
‫ﻼل اﻟَّﺘﻲ‬ َ ‫اﻷﻏ‬ ‫و‬ ُ ُ َ ُ َ َ
َ َ
ْ ‫ﺖ ﻋﻠ‬ ْ
‫� ْﻢ‬ ِ َ َ ‫ﻛﺎﻧ‬ َ

�‫إ‬َ ‫ﻚ‬ َ ِ‫ﺼ ّ ِﻞ َﻋ� ﻣُ َﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ َر ُﺳﻮﻟ‬ ‫ﻓ‬

Thus, bless Muhammad, Your messenger fašalli 3alā muħammadin

to both masses of human and Jinn, rasūlika 'ilath-thaqalayn,
ْ
،‫ﲔ‬
ِ ‫اﻟﺜّ َ َﻘ َﻠ‬
ْ ْ ْ ْ
،‫ﲔ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫ﻄ‬ ‫ﺼ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ء‬ ‫ﻴﺎ‬ ‫ﺒ‬ ‫اﻷﻧ‬ ‫و ﺳ ِ ّﻴ ِﺪ‬
wa sayyidil 'anbiyā'il
َ ِ ِ
the master of the chosen prophets,
mušţafayn,
َ َ ُ َ َ
،‫ﻦ ﻋ ِّﻤ ِﻪ‬ ‫و ﻋ� أﺧﻴ ِﻪ و ْاﺑ‬
and bless his brother and his cousin, wa 3alā 'akhīhi wabni
3ammih,
َ ِ َ َ َ
ْ ْ ْ ْ
‫ﻃ ْﺮﻓَ َﺔ ﻋﲔ‬ ‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻛﺎ‬ � ِ ُ � ‫ﻦ ﻟَﻢ‬ِ ‫اﻟ�ﻳ‬ َ َّ
neither of whom ever took associates with alladhīna lam yushrikā bika
You in worship even for one moment, ţarfata 3aynin 'abadā,

،ً‫أﺑﺪا‬
َ
ْ
‫اﻟﺰﻫﺮا ِء ﺳ ِ ّﻴﺪ ِة �ِﺴﺎ ِء‬ َ ّ ‫َو َﻋ� ﻓﺎ ِﻃ َﻤ َﺔ‬
and bless Fatima (sa), al Zahra, Syedatul wa 3alā fāţimataz-zahrā'i
َ
Nisa al Alameen sayyidati nisā'il 3ālamīn,

Paradise, al-Hasan (asws) and al-Hussain 'ahlil jannah, al-ħasani wal

،‫ﲔ‬ِ َ ُ َ ِ َ َ ‫اﻟ‬
‫ﺴ‬ ‫ﺤ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﺴ‬ ‫ﺤ‬

،‫وام‬ِ �‫ا‬ ً ‫ﺻ‬

َ ّ ‫ﺧﺎ� َة‬ ‫ﻼة‬
šalātan khālidatad-dawām,

With an everlasting blessing,

،‫ﻫﺎم‬ ‫اﻟﺮ‬
ِ ّ ِ ِ ‫َﻋ َﺪ َد َﻗ‬
‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻄ‬
equal to the number of drops of rains, 3adada qaţrir-rihām,

ْ
،‫اﻵﻛﺎم‬ ‫ﺒﺎل و‬ ‫ﺠ‬ ‫و زﻧﺔ اﻟ‬
wa zinatil jibāla wal ākām,
ِ
َ ِ ِ ََ ِ َ
and the weight of the mountains and hills,

For as long as peace and salutations are mā 'awraqas-salām,

،‫اﻟﺴﻼم‬ ‫ق‬ ‫ر‬ ‫أو‬ ْ ‫ﻣﺎ‬
exchanged,
ُ َّ َ َ
ْ
،‫اﻟﻀﻴﺎء و اﻟﻈَّﻼم‬ ‫ﻒ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﺘ‬‫اﺧ‬ ‫و‬
wakhtalafađh-đhiyā'u wađ-

َُ ّ َ ََ ِ
and light and darkness of night are
ُ َ
replaced. đalām,

‫اﻷ� ّ َﻤ ِﺔ‬
ِ ،‫ﺮﻳﻦ‬ ‫ّﺎﻫ‬
ِ ‫آ� اﻟﻄ‬
ِ ِ �‫و َﻋ‬
And bless his pure family, the guided wa 3alā ālihiţ-ţāhirīn, al-

Imams (asws), 'a'immatil muhtadīn,

،‫اﻟ ُﻤﻬﺘﺪﻳﻦ‬

،‫ﻳﻦ‬
ِ �‫ا‬ّ ‫ﻦ‬ِ ‫ﺪﻳﻦ َﻋ‬ �‫ا�ا‬
adh-dhā'idīna 3anid-dīn,

the defenders of the religion,

‫� و ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ و ﺟﻌ َﻔ ٍﺮ و ﻣﻮ� و‬ ‫ﻋ‬
who are Ali(asws), Muhammad(asws),, 3aliyyin wa muħammadin wa

Ja’far(asws),, Musa(asws),, Ali(asws),, ja3farin wa mūsa wa 3aliyyin
Muhammad(asws),, Ali(asws),, al- wa muħammadin wa 3aliyyin

‫ﻦو‬ ‫ﺴ‬ ‫ﺤ‬ ‫ﻋ� و ﻣﺤﻤﺪ و ﻋ� و اﻟ‬

Hasan(asws),, and al-Hujja(atfs),, wal ħasani wal ħujjah,

،‫ﻂ‬ ْ ِ �‫ و ﺳﻼ‬،‫اﻟْﻘﻮام ﺑﺎﻟْﻘ ْﺴﻂ‬

al-qawwāmi bilqisţ, wa
ِّ َ ُ َ ِ ِ ِ ِ ّ َ
the establishers of fairness, and the
grandsons of the Prophet (PBUH&HF). sulālatis-sibţ,

‫اﻹﻣﺎم‬ ‫ﻫﺬا‬ ْ
َ ‫ﻚ ِﺑ َﺤ ّ ِﻖ‬
َ ُ ‫إ� أﺳ َﺌﻠ‬
ّ َ ّ �ُ ّ‫اَﻟﻠ‬
allāhumma 'innī 'as'aluka

O Allah! I ask You by the rights of this
Imam (asws),, a relief in the near future, biħaqqi hādhal 'imāmi

farajan qarībā,
،‫ﻓَﺮﺟﺎ َﻗﺮﻳﺒﺎ‬

،‫و ﺻﱪا ً َ�ﻴﻼ‬
beautiful patience, wa šabran Jamīlā,

sufficiency from people, wa ghinan 3anil khalq,

،‫و َﺛﺒﺎﺗﺎ ِﰲ ا�ُﺪى‬
steadfastness in the path of guidance, wa thabātan fil hudā,

success in what pleases and satisfies You, wat-tawfīqa lima tuhibbu wa
،‫ﺐ و َﺗ ْﺮﺿﻰ‬ ‫ﺤ‬ ‫ﺗ‬ ‫ﻤﺎ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﻓﻴﻖ‬ ْ ‫و اﻟﺘ‬
‫ﻮ‬
tarđhā,
َ ُّ ِ ُ ِ َ َّ َ
ً ً ً ْ
،‫ﻃ ِ ّﻴﺒﺎ‬ ‫ﻼﻻ‬ ‫ﺣ‬ ‫ﻌﺎ‬ ‫واﺳ‬ ‫و ِرزﻗﺎ‬
wa rizqan wāsi'an ħalālan
َ ِ
a sustenance that is vast, lawful, pure,
َ َ
ţayyibā,

ً ً ً ‫ﻣﺮﻳﺌﺎ‬
،‫ﺳﺎ�ﻐﺎ‬ ِ ‫دارا‬
adequate, fruitful, pleasant, marī'an dārran sā'ighā,
ّ َ
ً ً
،‫ﻀﻼ ًﺻ ّﺒﺎ ﺻ ّﺒﺎ‬ ‫ﻓﺎﺿﻼ ًﻣ َﻔ‬
fāđhilan mufađhđhilan
ّ ِ ِ
abundant, superior, pouring forth,
َ َ ُ
šabban šabbā,

ْ ‫ و ﻻ ﻣﻨﺔ ﻣ‬،‫ﻦ ﻏ ْﲑ ﻛﺪ و ﻻ ﻧﻜﺪ‬ ْ

‫ﻦ‬ ِ َ ّ ِ َ َ َ َ ّ َ ِ َ ‫ِﻣ‬
without any toil, trouble, and favor from min ghayri kaddin wa lā
anyone. nakad, wa lā minnatin min
'aħad,
،‫أﺣﺪ‬
َ
ْ ْ ‫و ﻋﺎﻓﻴ ًﺔ ﻣ‬
‫ﻦ ﻛُ ّ ِﻞ ﺑﻼء و ﺳﻘﻢ و‬
wa 3āfiyatan min kulli
ِ ِ
Preserve my health against any affliction,
َ ُ َ َ َ َ
ailment, and disease, balā'in wa suqmin wa
marađh,
،‫ﻣﺮض‬
َ َ
ْ ْ ْ
،‫اﻟﺸﻜﺮ ﻋ َ� اﻟﻌﺎ ِﻓﻴ ِﺔ و اﻟﻨَّﻌﻤﺎ ِء‬ ‫و‬
wash-shukra 3alal 3āfiyati
َ َ ُّ َ
Grant me appreciation of well-being and
َ َ
blessings, wan-na3mā',

And when the time of death arrives, take wa 'idhā jā'al mawtu
�‫ت ﻓَﺎﻗ ِﺒﻀﻨﺎ ﻋ‬
ْ ْ
‫ﻮ‬ْ ‫و إذا ﺟﺎء اﻟْﻤ‬
our soul while it is in the best condition of faqbidhnā 3alā 'aħsani mā
َ ُ َ َ َ
ْ
yakūnu laka ţā'ah,
،‫ﻚ ﻃﺎﻋ ًﺔ‬
obedience to You,
َ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﻮن‬ ‫ﻜ‬
ُ ‫ﻳ‬ ‫ﻣﺎ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﺴ‬ ‫أﺣ‬
َ َ ُ َ ِ َ
‫ﻈﲔ ﺣ ّﺘﻰ‬ ‫ﻋ� ﻣﺎ أﻣ ْﺮ َﺗﻨﺎ ﻣﺤﺎ ِﻓ‬
And while observing what You 3alā mā 'amartanā
commanded, so that You lead us to the muħāfiđhīna ħattā
ţu'addiyanā 'ilā jannātin- َ َ ُ َ َ
Garden of blessings.
،�‫ﻌ‬ِ َ ّ‫ﺎت اﻟﻨ‬ ِ ّ‫ﺟﻨ‬ �‫ﺗُﺆ ِّدﻳﻨﺎ إ‬
na3īm,

biraħmatika yā 'arħamar-
،‫ﲔ‬ �‫ا‬ ِ ‫اﻟﺮ‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ‫ﺣ‬ ‫أر‬ ْ ‫ﺑﺮ ْ�ﺘﻚ ﻳﺎ‬
َ َِ َ ِ
By Your mercy, O the most merciful of
the merciful! rāħimīn,
َ ّ َ َ
،‫آل ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ‬ ‫اﻟﻠ� ﺻﻞ ﻋ� ﻣﺤﻤﺪ و‬
allāhumma šalli 3alā
َ ُ ِ َ ٍ َّ َ ُ َ ِ ّ َ َّ ُ ّ َ
My Allah! Bless Muhammad (saw) and
the family of Muhammad (asws), muħammadin wa āli
muħammad,

and distance me from the attractions of the wa 'awħishnī minad-dunyā
world, and make me familiar with (he wa ānisnī bil ākhirah,

affairs of the hereafter.
،‫ﺎﻵﺧﺮ ِة‬ ِ ‫و آ� ِ ْﺴﻨﻲ ِﺑ‬

ْ ‫ﻻﺧ‬ ْ
،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫ﻮ‬ ‫إ‬ ‫ﻴﺎ‬ ‫ﻧ‬ ُ�‫ا‬
ّ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﺣﺶ ِﻣ‬ ِ ‫ﺈﻧَﻪ ُ ﻻ ﻳُﻮ‬
ّ َ‫ﻓ‬
fa 'innahu lā yūħishu minad-
ّ
Certainly, nothing causes alienation from
this world except fear of You, dunyā 'illā khawfuk,
َ ُ َ َ ُ
ْ
،‫ﺟﺂؤ َك‬
ُ ‫ﻻ َر‬ ّ ‫ﺎﻵﺧﺮ ِة إ‬ ‫و ﻻ ﻳﺆ�ِﺲ ِﺑ‬
wa lā yu'nisu bil ākhirati 'illā
ِ
and nothing causes to be accustomed to
َ ُ ُ َ
the hereafter except hope for Your mercy. rajā'uk,

allāhumma lakal ħujjatu lā

،‫ﻚ‬ ْ ‫اﻟﻠ� ﻟﻚ اﻟْﺤﺠﺔ ﻻ ﻋﻠ‬
‫ﻴ‬
َ َ َ ُ َّ ُ َ َ َّ ُ ّ َ
O Allah! For You is the proof, not against
You, 3alayk,

َ ‫ﻚ اﻟ ُﻤﺸ َﺘﻜﻰ ﻻ ِﻣﻨ‬ َ ‫َو إﻟَﻴ‬
and to You is complained, not from You. wa 'ilaykal mushtakā lā mink,

ِ ِ ‫ﻓَﺼ ّ ِﻞ َﻋ� ﻣ َﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ و‬
Thus, bless Muhammad (saw) and his fašalli 3alā muħammadin wa

َ ُ َ
family (asws), ālih,

ْ
‫أﻋﻨّﻲ ﻋ� َﻧﻔ ِﺴﻲ اﻟﻈّﺎﻟِﻤ ِﺔ‬ ِ ‫َو‬
and assist me against my unjust and wa 'a3innī 3alā nafsiyađ-
َ َ َ
disobedient soul, đālimatil 3āšiyah,
ْ
،‫ﻌﺎﺻﻴ ِﺔ‬ ِ ‫اﻟ‬
َ
ْ ْ
،‫و َﺷﻬﻮ ِ� اﻟﻐﺎﻟِﺒ ِﺔ‬
and my dominant desire. wa shahwatiyal ghālibah,

َ َ َ َ
ْ ْ
،‫واﺧ ِ�ْ � ِﺑﺎﻟﻌﺎﻓِﻴ ِﺔ‬
And conclude me with a safe and healthy wakhtim lī bil 3āfiyah,
end.

ْ ْ
‫أﻧﺎ ﻣ ِﺼ ٌﺮ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﺎك‬ ‫إﻳ‬ ‫ﻔﺎري‬ ‫ﻐ‬ ‫إن اﺳ ِﺘ‬ َ ّ َ ّ �ُ ّ‫اَﻟﻠ‬
O Allah! It is due to my shamelessness allāhumma 'innastighfārī
ّ ُ َ َ َ ّ
that I ask forgiveness while I insist on 'iyyāka wa 'ana muširrun
3alā mā nahayta qillatu
،‫ﻣﺎ� ْﻴﺖ ِﻗ ّ َ� ُﺣﻴﺂء‬
what You have forbidden.

ħayā',

ْ ْ
‫اﻻ ْﺳ ِﺘﻐﻔﺎر ﻣﻊ ِﻋﻠﻤﻲ �ِ ِﺴﻌ ِﺔ‬ ِ ‫ﻛﻲ‬ ِ ‫َو َﺗ ْﺮ‬
But, if I do not ask for forgiveness with wa tarkiyal 'istighfāra ma3a
َ ََ َ َ
my knowledge of Your abundant 3ilmī bisi3ati ħilmika

ٌ ‫ﺣ ْﻠﻤﻚ ﺗﻀ‬ْ
forbearance, it will be wasting the right of tađhyī'un liħaqqir-rajā'
،‫ﻴﻴﻊ ﻟِﺤ ّ ِﻖ اﻟﺮﺟﺂ ِء‬ َ َ ِ ِ
َّ َ
hope to You.

ْ ‫أن‬ْ ْ
،‫أرﺟﻮ َك‬ ‫إن ذُﻧُﻮ� ﺗُﺆ�ِﺴﻨﻲ‬ َ ّ َ ّ �ُ ‫اَﻟ ّﻠ‬
My Allah! due to my weak faith, my sins allāhumma 'inna dhunūbi

َُ ُ
discourage me from requesting You, tu'yisunī 'an 'arjūk,

ْ ْ ْ
‫ﻚ ﻳﻤﻨَ ُﻌﻨﻲ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ � ‫ر‬ ‫ﺔ‬‫ﻌ‬ ‫ﺴ‬ � ‫ﻤﻲ‬ ‫إن ِﻋﻠ‬ َ ّ ‫َو‬
َ َ َِ َ ِ َ ِ ِ
and my knowledge about Your vast mercy wa inna 3ilmi bisi3ati
prevents me from fearing You. rahmatika yamna3unī 'an

'akhshāk,
،‫ﺸﺎك‬
َ ‫أﺧ‬ ‫أن‬

Thus, bless Muhammad (saw) and the
family of Muhammad, (asws) āli muħammad,

،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﺟﺎﺋﻲ‬ ‫ر‬ ‫ق‬ ‫و ﺻ ِﺪ‬
wa šaddiq rajā'ī lak,

َ ّ َ َ
and confirm my hope in You,
َ َ
ْ ْ ‫ب‬ ْ ‫و ﻛﺬ‬
،‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺧﻮﰲ ِﻣﻨ‬ ِّ َ
negate my fear of You, wa kadh-dhib khawfi mink,
َ َ
ْ ‫ﻦ � ﻋﻨْﺪ‬ ْ ‫وﻛ‬
‫ﻚ ﻳﺎ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻲ‬ ‫ﻨ‬‫ﻇ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﺴ‬ ‫أﺣ‬
wa kun lī 3inda 'aħsani đanni
َ ِ ّ َ ِ َ َ ِ ُ َ
and be for me according to the best of
what I expect and believe about You, O bika yā 'akramal 'akramīn
the most generous of the generous! ْ ْ
،‫ﻣﲔ‬
َ َ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫اﻷﻛ‬ ‫م‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫أﻛ‬
َ َ
‫آل ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ و‬ ‫اﻟﻠ� ﺻﻞ ﻋ� ﻣﺤﻤﺪ و‬
allāhumma šalli 3alā
َ ُ ِ َ ٍ َّ َ ُ َ ِ ّ َ َّ ُ ّ َ
O Allah! Bless Muhammad (saw) and the
َ
family of Muhammad,(asws) and support muħammadin wa āli
me by protection from sins, muħammadin, wa 'ayyidnī bil
ْ ْ ْ
،‫أﻳﺪ� ِﺑﺎﻟ ِﻌﺼﻤ ِﺔ‬ ِّ
َ
3išmah,

ْ ْ ْ ْ
،‫ﻄﻖ ﻟِﺴﺎ� ِﺑﺎﻟ ِﺤﻜﻤ ِﺔ‬ ِ ‫َو أﻧ‬
Make my tongue speak wisdom, wa 'anţiq lisānī bil ħikmah,
َ
ْ ْ ْ ْ
‫ﻦ ﻳﻨ َﺪم ﻋ� ﻣﺎ َﺿ ّﻴَﻌ ُﻪ‬ ‫و اﺟﻌﻠﻨﻲ ِﻣ ّ َﻤ‬
Place me among those who regret what waj3alnī mimman yandamu
they wasted yesterday, 3alā mā đhayya3ahu fī
َ َ ُ َ َ َ
ْ ‫ﰲ‬
'amsih,
،‫أﻣ ِﺴ ِﻪ‬
ْ
،‫و ﻻ ﻳﻐ َﱭ ُﺣﻈَّﻪ ُﰲ ﻳ ْﻮ ِﻣ ِﻪ‬
do not aggrieve their portion today, wa lā yaghbanu ħađđahu fī

َ َ َ َ
yawmih,

ْ
،‫و ﻻ � ُﻢ ﻟِ ِﺮز ِق َﻏ ِﺪ ِه‬
and do not worry about the sustenance of wa lā yahummu lirizqi
ُّ َ َ
tomorrow. ghadih,

ْ ْ ْ
‫ﻚو‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻨﻰ‬ ‫ﻐ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫اﺳ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻲ‬ ‫ﻨ‬ ‫ﻐ‬ ‫اﻟﻠ� إن اﻟ‬
O Allah! Certainly, rich is he who suffices allāhumma 'innal ghaniyya
himself with You and considers himself in manistaghnā bika waftaqara
َ َ ِ َ ِ َ َّ ِ َ َّ َّ ُ ّ َ
ْ ‫اﻓْﺘﻘﺮ إﻟ‬
need of You, 'ilayk,
،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻴ‬
َ َ َ ََ
ْ ْ ْ ْ ْ
،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻨ‬‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻘ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﺨ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻨﻰ‬ ‫ﻐ‬ ‫ﺘ‬‫اﺳ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻘﲑ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫و اﻟ‬
wal faqīra manistaghnā
َ َ َ َ ِ ِ
and poor is he who feels that he can
suffice himself through Your creation
without You.
bikhalqika 3anka,
َ ِ َ َ َ َ

،‫آل ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ‬ ‫ﻓﺼﻞ ﻋ� ﻣﺤﻤﺪ و‬

fašalli 3alā muħammadin wa
َ ُ ِ َ ٍ َّ َ ُ َ ِ ّ َ َ
Thus, bless Muhammad (saw) and the
family of Muhammad,(asws) āli muħammad,

ْ ْ ْ
،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻚ‬‫ﻘ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﺧ‬ ‫ﻦ‬‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻨﻲ‬‫ﻨ‬ ‫أﻏ‬ ‫و‬
wa 'aghninī 3an khalqika bik,
ِ ِ ِ
and suffice me from Your creation by
Yourself, َ َ َ َ َ

‫ﻻ‬
ّ ‫ﻛ ّﻔﺎ إ‬ ‫ﻂ‬ ‫ﺴ‬ �‫ﻳ‬ ‫ﻻ‬ ‫ﻦ‬‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻨﻲ‬‫ﻠ‬ ‫و اﺟﻌ‬
waj3alnī mimman lā yabsuţu
َ ُ ُ َ َّ ِ
and put me amongst those who do not
َ َ
extend their hand except towards You. kaffan 'illā 'ilayk,

،‫ﻚ‬ ْ
َ ‫إﻟَﻴ‬
ْ ‫اﻟﻠ� إن اﻟﺸﻘﻲ ﻣ‬
ُ ‫أﻣﺎﻣﻪ‬ ‫ﻂو‬ ‫ﻦ َﻗﻨ‬
My Allah! Certainly, wretched is he who allāhumma 'innash-shaqiyya
despairs while repentance is placed before man qanaţa wa 'amāmahut-
َ َ َ َ َ َّ ِ َّ َّ َّ ُ ّ َ
ْ
tawbatu wa warā'ahur-
،ُ‫اﻟﺘ ْﻮﺑﺔ ُو ورآءه اﻟﺮ�ﺔ‬
him and mercy is after him,

َ َ َ َّ
rahmah,
َ َّ ُ َ
ْ ْ ْ
‫ﻌﻴﻒ اﻟﻌﻤ ِﻞ ﻓَﺈ ّ� ﰲ‬ ‫ﺿ‬ َ ُ ‫َو إن ﻛُﻨ‬
‫ﺖ‬
Even though I have been weak in action, I wa 'in kuntu đha3īfal 3amali
have strong hope in Your mercy, fa 'innī fī raħmatika qawiyyal
َ َ َ
ْ
'amal,
،‫ي اﻷﻣ ِﻞ‬ ُ ‫ﻮ‬
ّ َ َ َ ‫َر‬
ِ ‫ﻗ‬ ‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ِ �
َ
ْ ْ ‫ﻓﻬ‬
،�‫ﻒ ﻋﻤ� ﻟِ ُﻘ ّ َﻮ ِة أﻣ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ‫ﺿ‬ � ‫ﺐ‬
Thus, forgive the weakness of my action fahab lī đha3fa 3amalī
in light of the strength of my hope. liquwwati 'amalī,
َ َ َ َ َ ََ
ْ ْ ْ ْ
‫اَﻟﻠّ ُ� ّ َإن ﻛُﻨﺖ َﺗﻌﻠَﻢ أن ﻣﺎ ﰲ ِﻋﺒﺎ ِد َك‬
O Allah! Even if You know there is no allāhumma 'in kunta ta3lamu
one amongst Your servants with harder 'an mā fī '3ibādika man huwa
ُ َ
ْ ً ْ ْ
'aqsā qalban minnī wa
ْ ‫ﻣ‬
heart and greater sins than mine,
'a3đamu minnī dhanbā,
‫ﻈﻢ‬ َ ‫أﻋ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﻲ‬ ّ ‫ﻨ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ِ ‫ﺒﺎ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﻗ‬
َ ‫ﺴﻰ‬ ‫أﻗ‬ ‫ﻫﻮ‬ ُ ‫ﻦ‬
ُ َ َ َ
ً ْ
،‫ِﻣﻨّﻲ َذﻧﺒﺎ‬
ْ ْ ْ
ْ ‫أﻋﻠﻢ أﻧﻪ ﻻ ﻣ‬
‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻨ‬‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ‫ﻈ‬ ‫أﻋ‬ � ‫ﻮ‬ �ّ ‫ﻓَﺈ‬
fa 'innī 'a3lamu 'annahu lā
ِ َ َ ُ َّ ُ َ
I certainly know that there is no master
more generous than You, mawlā 'a3đamu minka ţawlā,
َ ُ
،‫ﻃ ْﻮﻻ‬
َ
ْ ْ
،ً‫أوﺳﻊ ر� ًﺔ و ﻋﻔﻮا‬ ْ ‫و‬
with greater mercy and forgiveness. wa 'awsa3u raħmatan wa
َ َ َ َُ َ َ
3afwā,

ْ ْ ‫ﻦ ﻫﻮ‬ ْ ‫ﻓﻴﺎ ﻣ‬
،‫ﺪ ﰲ ر� ِﺘ ِﻪ‬ ‫أوﺣ‬
Then, O He Who is unique in His mercy! fayā man huwa 'awħadu fī
raħmatih,
َ َ ُ َ َ ُ َ َ
ْ ‫ﻦ ﻟ�ْﺲ ﺑ‬ ْ ‫إﻏﻔ ْﺮ ﻟﻤ‬ ْ
،‫ﻄﻴﺌ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬‫ﺧ‬ ‫ﰲ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﺣ‬ ‫ﺄو‬
'ighfir liman laysa bi 'awħada
ِ َ َ َ ِ ِ
Forgive him, who is not unique in his
mistakes. fī khaţī'atih,
َ َ َ َ

،‫ﻚ أﻣ ْﺮ َﺗﻨﺎ ﻓَﻌﺼ ْﻴﻨﺎ‬ ‫اﻟﻠ� إﻧ‬

allāhumma 'innaka
َ َ َّ َّ ُ ّ َ
O Allah! Certainly, You commanded us,
َ َ
but we have disobeyed, 'amartanā fa3ašaynā,

ْ
،‫و َ� ْﻴﺖ ﻓَﻤﺎ اﻧ َ� ْﻴﻨﺎ‬
forbade us, but we did not desist, wa nahayta famantahaynā,

َ َ َ َ َ
،‫ت ﻓَﺘﻨﺎﺳ ْﻴﻨﺎ‬ ‫ﻛ ْﺮ‬
َ ّ ‫و َذ‬
reminded us, but we remained unmindful, wa dhakkarta fatanāsaynā,
َ َ َ َ

 ،‫ت ﻓَﺘﻌﺎﻣ ْﻴﻨﺎ‬ ‫ﺼ ْﺮ‬َ ّ ‫َو َﺑ‬
enlightened us, but we behaved blindly, wa baššarta fata3āmaynā,
َ َ َ

،‫ت ﻓَﺘﻌ ّ َﺪ ْﻳﻨﺎ‬ ‫ر‬ْ ‫و ﺣﺬ‬

wa ħadh-dharta
َ َ َ َّ َ َ
and warned us, but we transgressed.
fata3addaynā,

ْ
،‫ﻚ إﻟَ ْﻴﻨﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺰآء إﺣﺴﺎ ِﻧ‬ ‫و ﻣﺎ ﻛﺎن ذﻟِﻚ ﺟ‬
This was not the repayment of Your wa mā kāna dhālika jazā'a

َ َ َ َ َ
kindness to us, 'ihsānika 'ilaynā,

ْ ْ ْ ْ
،‫و أﻧﺖ أﻋ َﻠﻢ ِﺑﻤﺎ أﻋ َﻠﻨّﺎ و أﺧ َﻔ ْﻴﻨﺎ‬
and You know what we have disclosed wa 'anta 'a3lamu bimā
and have concealed, 'a3lannā wa 'akhfaynā,
َ ُ َ َ
ْ ْ ْ
،‫أﺗﻴﻨﺎ‬ ‫ﻣﺎ‬ ‫و‬ � ‫ﺄ‬‫ﻧ‬ ‫ﻤﺎ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﱪ‬ ‫أﺧ‬ ‫و‬
wa 'akhbaru bimā na'tī wa

َ َ ُِ َ
and You are aware of what we will do and
have done. mā 'ataynā,
َ َ
،‫آل ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ‬ ‫ﻓﺼﻞ ﻋ� ﻣﺤﻤﺪ و‬
fašalli 3alā muħammadin wa
َ ُ ِ َ ٍ َّ َ ُ َ ِ ّ َ َ
Thus, bless Muhammad (saw) and the
family of Muhammad, (asws) āli muħammad,

ْ ْ ْ
،‫ﺆاﺧﺬﻧﺎ ِﺑﻤﺎ أﺧﻄَﺄﻧﺎ و �َﺴﻴﻨﺎ‬ ِ ُ ‫َو ﻻ ﺗ‬
and pardon us for our mistakes and our wa lā tu'ākhidhnā bimā

َ
forgetfulness, 'akhta'nā wa nasīnā,

،‫ﻚ َ� ْﻳﻨﺎ‬ ‫ﻮﻗ‬ ‫ﺐ ﻟَﻨﺎ ﺣ ُﻘ‬ ْ ‫وﻫ‬

forgive us the negligence of Your rights wa hab lanā ħuqūqaka
by us, ladaynā,
َ َ َ ُ َ َ
ْ
،‫ﻚ إﻟَ ْﻴﻨﺎ‬ ‫ﺴﺎﻧ‬ ‫إﺣ‬ �‫و أ‬
complete Your beneficence towards us, wa 'atimma 'iħsānaka
َ َ َّ ِ َ
'ilaynā,

ْ ْ ْ
،‫ﻚ ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴﻨﺎ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ � ‫و أﺳﺒﻞ ر‬
and cause Your mercy to descend upon us. wa 'asbil raħmataka 3alaynā,
َ َ ََ َ ِ َ
‫ﻳﻖ‬ ْ ‫اﻟﻠ� إﻧﺎ ﻧﺘﻮﺳﻞ إﻟ‬
ِ ‫اﻟﺼ ّﺪ‬
ِّ ‫ﻚ ِ� َﺬا‬ ‫ﻴ‬
allāhumma 'innā
َ َ ُ َّ َ َ َ ّ َّ ُ ّ َ
My Allah! We seek nearness to You by
means of this truthful Imam (asws), natawassalu 'ilayka
bihādhaš-šiddīqil 'imām,
،‫اﻹﻣﺎم‬
ِ
ْ ْ
‫ا�ي ﺟﻌﻠﺘﺔ ُ َ� و‬ َ ّ ‫ﻚ ِﺑﺎﻟﺤ ّ ِﻖ‬ ‫و � َ ْﺴ َﺌﻠ‬
and request You by the rights that You wa nas'aluka bil ħaqqil-ladhi
have placed for him (asws), his ja3altahu lah wa lijaddihi
َُ َ َ َ َ َ ُ َ
rasūlika wa li 'abawayhi
ْ ‫ﻟﺠﺪه رﺳﻮﻟﻚ و ﻷﺑﻮ‬
grandfather (saw), his parents, Ali (asws)
‫�و‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﻳ‬ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ
ََ َ َ ُ َ ّ َ
3aliyyin wa fāţimata 'ahli
َ ٍّ َ ِ
and Fatima (sa), the household of mercy,
baytir-raħmah,
ْ ْ
،‫ﺖ اﻟﺮ� ِﺔ‬ ِ ‫ أﻫ ِﻞ ﺑ ْﻴ‬،‫ﻓﺎ ِﻃﻤ َﺔ‬
َ َّ َ َ
ْ ْ
‫ا�ي ِﺑ ِﻪ ِﻗﻮام ﺣﻴﺎ ِﺗﻨﺎ و‬ َ ّ ‫اﻟﺮز ِق‬ ‫إدرار‬
an abundant flow of livelihood that 'idrārar-rizqil-lladhi bihī
maintains our life and the welfare of our qiwāmu ħayātinā, wa šalāħu
َ َ ُ ِ
ّ َ
ْ
dependents. 'aħwāli 3iyālinā,
،‫ﻮال ِﻋﻴﺎﻟِﻨﺎ‬ ِ ‫ﻼح أﺣ‬ ‫ﺻ‬
ُ َ

fa 'antal karīmul-ladhi tu3ţī
ِ
Certainly You are the generous one who
grants abundantly, min si3ah,
ُ ُ َ َ
،‫ِﺳﻌ ٍﺔ‬
َ
ْ ْ ْ
،‫ﻦ ﻗُﺪر ٍة‬ ‫و َﺗﻤﻨَﻊ ِﻣ‬
and holds back having power to fulfill. wa tamna3u min qudrah

َ ُ َ
ْ ْ � ‫و ﻧ ْﺤﻦ‬
‫ﻜﻮن‬ ‫اﻟﺮز ِق ﻣﺎﻳ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﺌ‬ ‫ﺴ‬
wa naħnu nas'aluka minar-
ُ ِ
ِّ َ َ َ َ ُ َ َ
We request from You a livelihood that
brings the goodness of this world and the rizqi mā yakūnu šalāhan
ُ َ ُ
ً ْ ً
pleasure of the hereafter, liddunyā wa balāghan lil
ākhirah,
،‫ﻶﺧﺮ ِة‬ ِ ِ‫�ﻧﻴﺎ َو َﺑﻼﻏﺎ ﻟ‬ ُ ّ ِ‫َﺻﻼﺣﺎ ﻟ‬
َ
،‫آل ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ‬ ‫اﻟﻠ� ﺻﻞ ﻋ� ﻣﺤﻤﺪ و‬
allāhumma šalli 3alā
َ ُ ِ َ ٍ َّ َ ُ َ ِ ّ َ َّ ُ ّ َ
O Allah! Bless Muhammad (saw) and the
family of Muhammad,(asws) muħammadin wa āli
muħammad,

،‫ﻮا� ْﻳﻨﺎ‬ َِ ِ‫و اﻏ ِﻔ ْﺮﻟَﻨﺎ و ﻟ‬
and forgive me, my parents, waghfir lanā wa liwālidaynā,

ْ ْ ْ ْ
،‫ﻨﺎت‬
ِ ‫ﻨﲔ َو اﻟ ُﻤﺆ ِﻣ‬ َ ‫ﻤﻴﻊ اﻟ ُﻤﺆ ِﻣ‬ ِ ‫و ﻟِﺠ‬
all the momineen and mominat (believing wa lijamī3il-mu'minīna wal
َ َ
men and women), mu'mināt,

wal muslimīna wal muslimāt,

،‫ﻤﺎت‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﺴ‬ ْ ‫واﻟْﻤ ْﺴﻠﻤﲔ و اﻟْﻤ‬
ِ ِ ُ َ َ ِ ُ َ
and the muslimeen and muslamat
(muslims),

ْ ْ ْ
ِ ‫اﻷﺣﻴﺎ ِء ِﻣ�ُ ْﻢ َو اﻷﻣ‬
،‫ﻮات‬
the living of them and the dead. al 'aħyā'i minhum wal
'amwāt,

ْ
‫اﻵﺧﺮ ِة‬ ‫ا�ُﻧﻴﺎ ﺣﺴﻨَ ًﺔ و ِﰲ‬ ّ ‫َو آ ِﺗﻨﺎ ِﰲ‬
Give us good in this world and good in the wa ātinā fid-dunyā ħasanatan
ِ َ َ َ
َ
hereafter, and shield us from the torment wa fil ākhirati ħasanatan wa
qinā 3adhāban-nār.
‫ﺣﺴﻨَ ًﺔ و ِﻗﻨﺎ ﻋ‬
of the fire
.‫ﺎر‬
ِ ّ‫ﺬاب اﻟﻨ‬ َ َ َ َ َ

Then, complete your prayer, and recite Tasbihat Syeda Fatima (sa) and then place the side of you
face on the ground and say the following forty times:

ْ ْ
‫ﺪﷲ و ﻻ إ� إﻻّ َاﷲ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺳ ْﺒﺤﺎن اﷲِ و اﻟﺤ‬
Glory be to Allah! Praise be to Allah! subħānal-lāhi wal ħamdulil-
There is no god except Allah! Allah is lāhi wa lā 'ilāha 'illal-lāhu
ُ َ َ ُ َ َ َ ُ
greatest wal-lāhu akbar,
ْ
ُ ‫َو اﷲ ُأﻛ َﱪ‬

 Following that, ask Allah for protection, salvation, forgiveness, success in performing good deeds,
and the acceptance of the actions that you do to seek His nearness and perform for His sake.
Then, embrace the inner shrine, kiss it, and say:

‫اﻟﺴﻼم‬ ‫ و‬،‫� ْﻢ‬ ‫زاد اﷲ ﰲ َﺷﺮ ِﻓ‬

ُ َ ّ َ ُ َ ُ َ
May Allah increase your honor. Peace be zādal-lāhu fī sharafikum,
was-salāmu 3alaykum wa
ْ
‫ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ‬
upon you, the mercy of Allah, and His
.ُ ‫� ْﻢ و ر�ﺔ ُاﷲِ و ﺑﺮﻛﺎﺗُﻪ‬
raħmatul-lāhi wa barakātuh.

blessings.
َ َ َ َ َ َ َ

Finally, pray for yourself, your parents and for whomever else you wish.

Imam Mahdi (atfs) said, “I pray for any believer who remembers the sufferings of my martyred
grandfather, al-Husain (asws), and then prays for my relief (al-Faraj)”
