When Jesse Shwayder founded Samsonite® in 1910, travel was reserved for only an exclusive few, those who had the

MILESTONES
Ever since its earliest days, Samsonite has been the most innovative luggage manufacturer in the world. It has led the
industry in using new materials and creating new designs. Here are just a few of the luggage landmarks that Samsonite has
created over the years, as part of its tradition of innovation.
1910 The Shwayder Brothers, the company’s original founders, manufacture robust wooden trunks.
1941 Introduction of a new type of luggage Streamlite™.
1956 Introduction of breakthrough products including Ultralite™, the first suitcase made of lightweight magnesium and ABS.
Launch of Silhouette®, the most advanced luggage made up to that time, included a new, modern shape and recessed hardware to protect it from

1967 Introduction of the first polypropylene suitcase with recessed locks for more streamlined appearance and function.

1973 Samsonite introduces an attaché case with ‘right-side-up’ feature, preventing it from being opened when the case is upside down.
1974 The first Samsonite wheeled suitcase is created - a true revolution in travel comfort and convenience.
1975 Samsonite launches a range of soft suitcases with a vinyl frame.
1978 The first polypropylene attaché case.
1986 The first suitcase with a three-point latching system Oyster®.
1991 Introduction of a revolutionary brake-equipped suitcase.
1994 Introduction of a range of polypropylene suitcases with zipper closure, hard and soft combination.
1997 The Ultra Transporter® the first Upright® case which can be pushed or pulled, and which has an organised interior.
1998 The first Big Wheel™ Upright case, offering perfect manoeuvrability and silent rolling.
2000 Introduction of Samsonite’s first aluminium product.
2004 Samsonite markets the four-wheel Spinner®, making travellers’ lives easier.
2006 Alexander McQueen designs a new eye-catching luggage collection for Samsonite Black Label.
2008 Launch of Cosmolite, the strongest and lightest Samsonite ever up till then, manufactured with new Curv® technology.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure (as determined by a Samsonite Authorised Repair Agent) and
