Well I am a recently graduated HSE engineer and I have a sister who is working in a near hospital as an
anesthetist so one day I went to here for radio in my ankle and while I was waiting for my turn a nurse came out
from the fibroscopy room shouting fire and there was no security agents in that floor and as I was familiar with
fire extinguisher I went inside the room I was surprised It was really small screen fire which means it was
electrical fire so I grab a portable extinguisher which contained polyvalent powder and I used it for the
extinction

This experience taught me to Stay confidant and calm even when thing are not going well especially when you
are the person in charge because that may help the other stay calm

What steps did you go through to fix the problem? What was the outcome?

Actually, I have been in such situation during my training period in Sonatrach so by start of the day I and two of
HSE engineers went out to the field for a technical control and while checking the sprinklers fire protecting the
centrifugal pump we have noticed that two of them were broken we wrote that down and we told the foreman
and then I had the chance to be a part of the team fixing this problem. We took off the broken sprinklers and we
replaced them with new ones

Last year during my training period which was a little bit late due to overload training demands, my professor
called me and told me that the deadline were changed and that we didn’t have much time and we had to
reduce the duration of the training from 6 weeks to only 4 and more than that we didn’t have time after the
training to meet up and review my final dissertation and put the things together so I started redaction
immediately and what I was doing is the day I go to the field I take as much information as I can memorize and
the night I edit the chapter I tried to do one chapter every 4 nights and send it to my prof and that what I did I
finished my dissertation before the training’s done and I had the time to review the memory both with
engineers in the field and with my prof online that taught me that good planning is the key of winning time and
you have always to stick to the plan whatever it happens because you will get some rest eventually and you will
be rewarded

situation again?

Last year I was a member of a cultural university club and we were given a task which was cleaning the beach
next to the university and I was chosen to be the leader this time

For a while it seemed to be an easy job but actually it wasn’t that easy first I decomposed us into small groups
each one take a part from the beach to clean and the members I love the most I didn’t take them in my group
because I knew I will not be able to go hard on them because we have only one day and the beach was really
large and of course there was a non-cooperative members actually they were not non-cooperative but lazy
people so I put the four of them in the same group so I can blame them all together in the same time and I
would have the right to do that because every one would notice that the were not doing great job it would be
obvious

accepted? If not, why? What did you learn from this experience?

I have recently been in such a situation with my parents , actually my father is a taxi driver and we lived in a
small house then they decided to move to a bigger one and I didn’t agree with that because the car my dad was
driving was getting old so I proposed to them to stay in the same house and buy a new car instead so that insure
my father’s work my mother wasn’t ok with that but I tried to convince her as like as my father was but finally
we came out with a new idea which was fixing the actual car instead of buying a new one and moving to an
average house instead of a big one

solutions would not work. What was the situation? Why didn't the old solution work? What steps did you take

outcome?

This days I am working in a supermarket as manager And few days ago a new stock came to us a giant semi-
trailer full of products and we had to unload it and what I do normally is calling special workers to unload it but
unfortunately the national team was playing their first game in the African national teams cup so no one would
come to work but I had to find a solution I called the owner I told him that the national team is playing and all
the people are watching the game we are not selling anything for hours and no one could come for the unload
so why we don’t shut down the supermarket for two hours and use only the workers from the supermarket to
unload the semi-trailer he agreed and with did it in less time and everyone was paid some extra cash
