Sub: STP Plant Capacity Assessment and Functional Defects for better filtration.

Capacity Assessment:

ALL TANKS CIVIL SIZES ARE MENTIONED IN METERS:-

1. Collection tank : 12x 3.5 x 6.0

PHASE I
Aeration Tank : 5.5x 5.0x5.0
Primary settling : 5.5x3.0x5.0
Secondary : 5.5 x3.5x5.0
Clarifier : 5.5x3.5x 3.5
Final treated tank : 5.5 x2.5x3.5
Sand vessel : Dia:1600mm x 1225 mm Ht
Carbon vessel : Dia:1600mm x 1225 mm Ht

PHASE II

Aeration Tank : 5.5x 5.0x5.0

Primary settling : 5.5x3.0x5.0
Secondary :5.5 x2.5x5.0
Clarifier : 5.5x2.5x 3.5
Final treated tank : 5.5 x2.5x3.5
Sand vessel : 1200mm x 1555 mm ht
Carbon vessel : Dia:1200mm x 1555 mm Ht

As per the measurements of civil tanks and equipment capacity we assessed

capacity of stp plant :
a) phase I 210m 3/day @ 20 hrs (running time)
b) Phase II 175m 3/day @ 20 hrs (running time)
CONSUMPTION :

1.Waste water collected at collection point per day 480-500 kl from bore /municipal water.
2.Flush water from flushes 350-380 kl.
Total water collected at collection tank is around 850-880 kl /day

Functional Defects and its Respective Remedies

1. At collection tank Extra Bypass pump should be deployed for maintaining collection tank
level. Collection tank total depth is around 6 mtrs, Bar screen chamber is at 2 mtrs down
from the top slab level. In order to collect all plastic waste in Bar screen chamber, water
level should be maintained minimum 2.3 mtrs down from top slab level. It only be
possible by using Bypass pump, to eradicate level mixing with bar screen chamber. By
this level mixing bar screen chamber is not working properly.

2. At aeration tanks aeration is not uniform. By observing discharge pressures some diffusers
are chocked. So, new diffusers should be added for better aeration.

3. In Aeration tanks the quantity of MBBR media is insufficient. So, extra MBBR media has
to be added for better aeration.

4. At phase I sludge lines has to be extended upto middle of aeration tank. So that recycle
sludge will be properly mixed in aeration tank.

5. At phase II New sludge pumps are required for recycling of sludge in secondary settling
tank.

6. At phase I & II sludge airline valves are damaged. So 2no’s of zoloto valves are required.

7. Plastic waste escaped from collection tank are present in settling & aeration tanks.
Chamber structure should be arranged at clarifier tank in order to arrest the escape of
plastic waste.

8. New Bucket pump is required to dewater the settled particles regularly in clarifier/ treated
tanks.

9. Requirement of new UV lamp for disinfection to treated water.

10. Treated pipeline modification work for proper flushing

11. Cementing of 4 MS Vessel legs for proper supporting

12. Treated tank manhole covers should be done to avoid rain water leakage.
