MISHNAH
 It is originally referred to a method of teaching by presenting topics in a systematic
order which followed the order of the BIBLE.
 It is called SHAS though that term is more often used for the Talmud as a whole.

The six orders are:

 ZERAIM ("Seeds")
• dealing with prayer, blessings, and agricultural laws (11 tractates)
 MOED ("Festival")
• pertaining to the laws of the Sabbath and the Festivals (12 tractates)
 NASHIM ("Women")
• concerning marriage and divorce, some forms of oaths and the laws of the NAZIRITE (7
tractates)
 KODASHIM ("Holy things")
• regarding sacrificial rites, the TEMPLE, and the DIETARY LAWS (11 tractates)
 TOHOROT ("Purities")
• Pertains to the laws of purity and impurity, including the impurity of the dead, the laws of
food purity and bodily purity (12 tractates).
 NEZIKIN ("Damages")
• dealing with civil and criminal law, the functioning of the courts and oaths (10 tractates)

PROPHETS
 ACCORDING to RASHI there were 49 prophets and seven prophetesses of Judaism.
 THE TOP FIVE ARE NOA,ABRAHAM,ISAAC,JACOB,AND MOSES.
 The last Jewish prophet is believed to have been MALACHI.

YAHWEH/JEHOVAH

 Jehovah, (YHWH) the name that according to the BIBLE, God revealed to his people.
 This name is mentioned over 6000 times in the original Hebrew bible.
 The Judaism believes that Jehovah is to sacred to be uttered and is often referred to as the
distinctive name.
 YHWH IS THE TETRAGRAMMATON AND THE JEHOVAH IS THE ENGLISH TERM.

 RABBI SHERWIN WINE FOUNDED THIS DENOMINATION OF JUDAISM(1963)

-COMBINES THE BELIEF OF JUDAISM AND CHRISTIANITY.

JUDAISM ISSUES

ANTISEMITISM
-is hostility to, prejudice, or discrimination against Jews.

discrimination against individual Jews to organized pogroms by mobs, state police,
or even military attacks on entire Jewish communities.
ZIONISM
 is the nationalist movement of the JEWISH PEOPLE that espouses the re-
establishment of and support for a JEWISH STATE in the territory defined as the
historic Land of Israel
( roughly corresponding to Canaan, the Holy Land, or the region of Palestine )
