Qualitative data analysis requires the researchers to systematically search, categorize, integrate
and interpret the data collected in a research. Analysis involves describing what's in the data.
Interpretation involves making sense of what the data mean. The researcher has the key role in
data analysis. Much of analysis and interpretation relies on the skills of the researcher.
Qualitative data analysis involves a cyclical process.

Analisis data kualitati/ memerlukan penyelidik mencari secara sistematik, mengkategorikan,


mengintegrasikan dan menginterpretasi data yang dikumpul dalam kajian. Analisis melibatkan
menerangkan perkara yang terkandung di dalam data. Penyelidik dan kemahiran menganalisis

a) Imagine that we randomly selected 25 students who scored extremely well on an

achievement test. We then administer a similar achievement test to these students.


What predictions can you make about the second set of scores?

children. The children of mothers who smoke have more health problems than the
children of mother who do not smoke. Do these data allow us to conclude that smoking
causes poor health in children? Why?
