CHAPTER 385A - ACCOUNTABILITY OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS

This chapter helps to organize the school sizes and performance within each school
district. The district report includes: achievements, class sizes, attendance, disciplines,
graduation and dropout rates, curriculum, fiscal information, and parental involvement. State
accountability report is similar to district report in a larger quantity.
● Public achievement and School performance: number of pupils who took the test
vs. the number of students in attendance.
○ Students that were not able to take the test were factored out.
● Class sizes: student ratio to teachers and average class size per core academic
subject.
● Personnel employed by school district: total number of employment throughout
elementary, middle, and high school. “other Staff” includes: counselors, nurses,
and non instructional support staff.
○ Staff not reported include people spending less than 50% of their time at
work.
● Professional qualifications of teachers and paraprofessionals: providing
instruction pursuant for the requirements of their grade level.
● Attendance, truancy, and transiency of pupils: average daily attendance of pupils.
● Discipline of pupils: records involve weapons, alcoholic beverages, suspension,
bullying, and cyberbullying.
● Graduation and dropout rates: this includes a high school diploma, an adult
diploma, and an adjusted diploma.
● Curriculum; remedial and special programs: amount of money and sources
received by the state for the programs.
● District communication: parental involvement: participation of parents with the
educational process and activities.
This report and chapter is important to receive more funds or help improve areas that are
needed. The state can pull up reports from previous years to see what has helped or hurt in the

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing this letter as a future educator. I recently researched the annual reports that

happen within the state of Nevada. Chapter 385A caught my interest as I wanted to understand

the details within these reports. I support the annual reports as they can improve Clark County

School District.

These reports can also help future educators, like myself, to discover which state is right

for them or how they can help their school district when becoming a teacher. It is great to have

access to what is happening within Clark County District. The teachers are able to see different

class sizes and could possibly change their location. The reports can also help how to improve

within truencies and disciplines within the school district.

Thank you again for giving future educators, like me, to have access in what their future

will look like for Clark County.

Sincerely,

Devyn DeWitt
