I. Introduction

Dear students: I am pleased to welcome you this blended learning course. I am pretty sure that this learning experience we
are embarking on will bring us a lot of positive experiences as well as useful tools for enhancing our learning.

This course is designed to teach and help students develop the four skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking) as
well as the micro skills such as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. During this quarter we will work on different
agendas in which you will find a series of activities such as videos, writings, songs, puzzles, and exercises taken from the
book, online books, websites and other resources to reinforce and learn content in for you can interact in English. All the
necessary tools for you to achieve the desired results will be given; of course, this will be possible by combining both the
content and your hard work.

In this agenda, you are going to work on unit 1 which it is called “ Getting to Know you ” focused on starting and finishing a
basic conversation based on exchanging personal information related to family, and unit 2 “ Work and Leisure”, which
focuses on talking about leisure time activities and talking about daily routines.

It is necessary to highlight that in the charts below you will find in detailed the instructions on how to move towards the
completion of the Agenda. Also, some external resources will be included such as videos, PowerPoint presentations and
some other resources that will help you understand this unit.

Remember, “You don‟t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great”. Sometimes it would be easy or not.
However, keep in mind that you are not alone on this learning process because I will help you every step on the way. If you
have questions or doubts, don‟t be afraid to ask. Do not give up, push and demand yourself. YOU CAN DO IT!
