The Effects of Sleep Deprivation in Students Academic Performance

Sleep deprivation, daytime sleepiness and irregular sleep schedules are highly prevalent among students,
is an insufficient sleep or a condition of not having enough sleep.

It can lead to a serious health like fatigue, daytime sleepiness, clumsiness and increased appetite leading
to weight gain. It adversely affects the brain and cognitive function

Nowadays, most of the teenagers spend their free time or worst their whole day by using social media.
Almost of the students are the slaves of modern technologies. They depends their lives according to the
acceptance of others in their social media friends. Today in the modern world of technologies, makes the
life of the students easier especially in research purposes but it makes them dependent on technologies.
So that, technology caused sleeps deprivation that decreased their performance in academic.

Being instate of sleep deprivation it leads them to be absentminded and tardiness during classes that can't
focus their studies. It’s a problematic to students and can result in lower grade point averages, increases
the risk in academic failure and compromised learning.

Therefore, lack of sleep has a significant effect in reaction time of students but it doesn’t affect the
cognitive ability of the students.

student have tendency to be late because of personal problems, for eg. Guests at home or doing house
hold stuffs which can make them tired a lot which result in late sleeping habits and getting up early for
school or college which can later on effect on their health problems because of less sleep and not resting
properly and which can make them feel tired and sleepy and then they won't be able to focus on their
studies because of lack of health care and not resting properly
