JOB SUMMARY & KEY PRIORITIES


The Agent Network Manager (ANM) will be responsible in setting the direction and sustainability
pathway of Grameen Foundation’s Community Agents Network social enterprise in the Philippines. He/
She will provide overall operational and leadership oversight, participate in planning, global strategy
implementation and client service delivery.

The role will also use broad and comprehensive experience, skills and knowledge to direct all activities
related to the design, management and driving execution of all components of digital financial services
programs. Understanding of Philippine market is key. He/She will leverage on intensive knowledge and
networks gained from the ​Community Agent Network (CAN) and ​WomenLink program in the Philippines
to extend the work and its impact.

The ANM will work closely with the Sr. Director for Financial Inclusion, Country Manager, global
leadership teams, and with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of our ongoing
Financial Services project portfolio and contribute to other business development efforts . This staff will
report to Country Manager. This individual will use knowledge of innovative financial services and digital
technology, as well as Project Management, Analytical, Communication, Relationship Management skills
to support the day-to-day implementation of programs with implementing partners. More importantly
he/she will work to building the Grameen social enterprise (SE) for maintaining, managing and
developing networks of agents for achieving greater and long term financial inclusion in the Philippines.

Key Priorities include:


For Social Enterprise (SE) Development
● Pursue engagement with key stakeholders to further understand the needs and refine the SE
business model,
● Support the creation of a business plan for the social enterprise. Set strategic goals to increase
account sales, expand customer base and geographic reach.
● Provide oversight on onboarding and training of merchants/agents and contribute to building
and maintaining a strong agent and merchant relationships.
● Maintain a healthy pipeline and database of agents.
JOB DESCRIPTION:

● Manage the merchant onboarding process, including creation of, enhancements to and tracking
of process to identify and sign new partnerships.
● Provide leadership in the design of new products or use cases and develop sustainable
partnerships with selected financial service providers for delivering their products and services.
● Understanding merchants/agents/end clients concerns, pain points and goals and contributing
to translate these into strategies for consumer acquisition, conversion and retention.
● Other key activities include:
○ Defining the skills/expertise that the SE should have
○ Defining the services that the SE will provide
○ Cultivating and developing a market for the SE
○ Assessing and monitoring the costs and revenues streams characterizing the SE activities
○ Ensuring the cost-effectiveness of the SE in its activities
○ Contributing to the design of a digital tool to manage the network of agents (selection,
onboarding, training, supervision, performance monitoring etc.)

For Financial Services Program Implementation:


● Manage Financial Services program team. Supervise all the day-to-day operations for program
implementation and tracking of donor deliverables
● Facilitate and ensure quality and efficiency in the implementation of the field activities
● Monitor and evaluate individual deliverables and responsibilities of field agent specialists or
independent contractors.
● Design, develop and serve as overall supervisor for initiatives on financial education and digital
literacy for target beneficiaries
● Liaise with partner organizations including banks, microfinance institutions, credit unions,
agribusinesses and technology service providers to design sustainable DFS models for increasing
financial inclusion in the Philippines
● Work closely with the Grameen Foundation Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to develop
the data collection strategy, analysis of the usability research including helping manage field
enumerators and their activities.
● Participate in the knowledge sharing aspects of the project, which includes but is not limited to
project plans and project documents.
● Assist in developing content to support the communications strategy and sharing it through
various forms (blogs, monthly updates, reports etc.)
● Work closely with the Business Analyst and Finance team in the management and use of the
program budget

KEY RESULTS:
Mission & Business Results
This role is accountable for supporting delivery of our work related to Financial Inclusion in the
Philippines. Work involves partnering closely with the Country Manager to own and deliver on specific
objectives, team commitments and internal/external customer requirements. Accountable for:
● Supporting the program by contributing to the development of project scope, coordinating
activities between various stakeholders, and owning and driving specific pieces (sub-projects,
defined initiatives, and activities) to a high standard of success.
● Working with team members and partners to actively manage and re-prioritize activities in order
to deliver results in a timely manner. Proactively seeking feedback from manager and partners -
resulting in ongoing improvements.
● Skilled in applying relevant know-how, tools and procedures relevant to Project Management.
● Providing analytical and research support to their teams. Maintaining and analyzing
project/work data that lead to timely identification of issues and improvements in current
processes/offerings.

Integration Results
● Coordinating, reporting, tracking, and maintaining standard business processes relevant to their
work. Examples include, but are not limited to, project management dashboards and financial
reports, other partner/GF business processes.
● Leveraging existing automated solutions (internal GF tools or technologies, e.g., Box,
Smartsheet, Salesforce) to drive efficiencies and process improvements.
● Drawing on the expertise and talents of team members and peers to strengthen team results.

Stakeholder Results
● Accountable for managing existing relationships with specific external audiences on role related
areas. Point of contact for external organizations like technology service providers and
microfinance partners. Creating project reports, communication materials for internal and
external audiences.
● Providing analytics and research support for the creation of sustainable business models for
their area.
● Help create and present materials to share our work with our partners
● Review tools proposed by resource partners and ensure that these meet reporting requirements
and donor deliverables.
JOB DESCRIPTION:

● Participate in knowledge management through sharing evaluations and lessons learned from
project sites. This includes facilitation of sharing recommendations gathered from other
program initiatives.

Leadership Results
● Supporting, capturing, sharing and creating lessons learned documentation for the WomenLink
Program
● Share learning from his/her work across the organization,
● Serve as main contact person for independent contractors. Assist in all consultant onboarding
concerns and provide supervision for the deliverables of consultants

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


● A passion for solving the challenges facing poor, women, smallholder farmers and
corresponding product/solution; combined with a deep commitment to eradicating poverty.
● Professional experience in maintaining and managing a social enterprise or nonprofit
organization, as a staff member or board member is highly preferred. Experience with nonprofit
fundraising and/or accounting is not required but highly desirable.
● Expertise in program implementation, knowledge of microfinance and digital financial services
for the poor.
● Familiarity with the local context, target audience needs, and regulatory environment.
● Effective Project Management Skills - ability to support multiple priorities, adapt to evolving
project/work needs, and deliver timely results. Combined with a self-driven proactive work
style.
● Execution skills, and the ability to overcome and work around operational obstacles.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills - effectively working with and providing support
to internal and external customers. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word,
PowerPoint) required.
● Data Analysis and Process Management Skills - advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required,
knowledge of Process/Project Management Tools a strong plus.
● Familiarity with Human Centered Design principles and Monitoring & Evaluation Frameworks a
strong plus.
● Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, energetic, highly creative and entrepreneurial
environment.
● Accuracy, attention to detail are essential and commitment to excellence.

EDUCATION BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:


● At least 5 years of overall experience supporting substantive projects and initiatives. Experience
working with remote teams is preferred.
● Progressive team management experience, including hiring, supervising operation teams
including finance, human resource and learning and development.

● 2-3 years of private or professional services engagement or experience of heading a small


business/enterprise is highly desirable.
● Experience in creative communication, research and consulting is considered relevant.
● Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, International Development, Economics, Finance,
Public Health/Policy, Engineering or related field. Having a Masters degree is a strong plus.
● Excellent written and verbal English language skills;
● Experience working in a global/multicultural organizations across multiple time zones a strong
plus.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS


This position does not require unusual demands for physical effort. This position may occasionally
require physical effort to lift and transport boxes weighing no more than 50 pounds.

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical
of places such as offices, meeting or training rooms, residences, or commercial vehicles; e.g., use of safe
workplace practices with office equipment, and/or avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire
regulations and traffic signals.
