b. (2)3.5 recite and use the months of the year in order [NS 3.1.6]
7. Materials
a. 13-page calendar packet.
i. Page 1 is name page.
ii. Page 2 is January and is already filled out as an example page for students.
iii. Pages 3-13 are for the months February-December. Each month has the first and last day already filled in for students.
b. Coloring supplies
8. Procedures

a. Give each student calendar packet (13 Pages).


b. On page 1, have students write their name in the box.
c. On page 2, review each part of the calendar.
i. The month in the top box.
ii. The days of the week in the second row of boxes. The days start on Sunday-Saturday.
iii. Date in each box.
d. Page 3-13
i. Have students fill in the top box with the months.
ii. The packet is stapled in order. Have students fill in the months following January, starting with February.
iii. Write all of the months on the board- February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December.
e. Page 3-13
i. Have students fill in the days of the week in the second row of boxes.
ii. They can copy from January- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
f. Page 3-13
i. Have students fill in the dates in each box.
ii. The first and last day of each month are prefilled, students will need to fill in the remaining dates from left to right.
g. Pages 1-13
i. Hand out coloring supplies.
ii. Have students color and decorate each month as they wish.
h. Pages 1-13
i. Have students fill in any important dates on the calendar.
ii. Examples- Days with no school, federal holidays, family member birthday dates, etc..

9. Assessment
a. Utilizing a rubric, students will be graded by their performance. Performance assessment involves students using what they already know and
applying that to what they are learning. Students will expand on their knowledge of counting and copying. The rubric below breaks down each
category students will be graded on. Students will receive a 1-3 score on each category given.
