RPMS roll out narrative

The Department of Education (DepEd) in Division of Pampanga is keen on implementing

the Results-based Performance Management System ( RPMS) manual aligned with the
Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers ( PPST) following the intensive training of it’s
school heads and teachers.
Last May 31- June 1, 2019, all schools at San Simon including San Miguel Elementary
School have conducted and held a two-day seminar for the official roll-out and the scheduled
implementation of the RPMS-PPSt in the district. Ma’am Jenny Pamandanan and Madam
Melanie Castaneda who both undergone an intensive training merrily shared and imparted
their acquired knowledge to us teachers. Both of them know and master the topic they are
discussing and we are delighted as we learn and get a clearer vision of this RPMS. However,
though we may have a clearer idea regarding PPST-RPMS, it has also open up a prevalent
feeling among teachers that this is an unnecessary additional workload for us for we will be
subjected to more paper work.
But on a positive note after the seminar, we have realized that RPMS is just a
documentation of what is expected of us and as compare to what we are doing in the previous
years with RPMS, this year’s PPST-RPMS really focused on the development of both teachers
and learners.

After the two-day seminar, Madam Melanie D. Castaneda, Our school head, congratulated
SMES teaching force for successfully completing the sessions, we are now ready to embrace
the challenge, apply the knowledge we gain and be more proficient.
