I. Introduction
In this experiment, a number of chemical reactions was done and examined with noticeable signs. Our
group performed 9 reactions of metal ions and inorganic compounds with observable chemical changes
such as the change in color, the formation of a solid, the release of gas, and the production of heat and light
II. Experimental
(Describe what experiments you did in this report, write down each step of your experiments)
1. Reactions of Cu2+
0.5M KBr + 0.1M AgNO3 - Appeared creamy white precipitate on AgNO3 + KBr → AgBr↓ + KNO3
supernate’s surface
0.5M KBr + 0.1M AgNO3 - Appeared creamy white precipitate on AgNO3 + KBr → AgBr + KNO3
+ 2M NH4OH supernate’s surface AgBr + 2NH4OH → 2H2O + Ag(NH3)2Br
- After add NH4OH: The precipitate
dissolves
0.5M KBr + 0.1M AgNO3
+ 2M KCN
0.5M KI + 0.1M AgNO3 - Appeared light yellow suspension AgNO3 + KI → KNO3 + AgI↓
0.5M KI + 0.1M AgNO3 - Appeared light yellow suspension AgI + NH4OH → Ag(NH3)2I + 2H2O
+ 2M NH4OH - After add NH4OH, the amount of
precipitate stay still
