Expected Behaviours 

This documentation contains the expected behaviours that the Facebook apps have. Before 
reporting any potential bug or suggestion, please consult this list thoroughly in order to avoid 
your issues being rejected 
 
This document will be updated every week on Tuesdays at 2:00 PM GMT+2, make sure to 
revisit it, in order to keep up with the latest additions

Expected Behaviours
● General 
○ The app doesn’t support landscape mode(doesn’t apply to videos, media, video 
feeds) 
○ The screens don’t auto-refresh - to update any information, the user has to 
manually pull-to-refresh the screen 
○ All feeds don’t show posts in chronological order 
○ The passwords may be visible 
○ Confirmation or acknowledgement messages are not always shown (i.e. after 
posting a new story or video, the app doesn’t say that the post has successfully 
been published) 
○ Ads’ language is not based on app language 
○ Updating profile information on Facebook isn’t promptly updated on Messenger 
(you might need to relog) 
○ Facebook Lite is a lightweight and basic version of Facebook with minimal 
functionality, some features on Facebook for Android might not be available on 
Facebook Lite 
○ There is no Facebook Lite version for iOS
○ Close friend option not available on FBLite or FB4A 
○ Numbers are not localized 
○ New users will have the GoLive feature disabled for a few days and until they 
have a few friends\ 
○ Opera Mini is not supported 
○ Friends list aren't listed in alphabetical order 
○ Name of the products will not be translated (e.g. Marketplace) 
○ Split screen is not supported 
○ Autoplay option on videos is working on Wifi if the option is set to enable in 
Settings 
○ Autoplay videos on mTouch is not enabled 
○ Autoplay videos are not working when the battery of the device is under 20% 
○ Gif posts are not animated 
● Registration 
○ The birthday field is already populated with a default age 
○ Field validations are done at the last step of the registration only 
○ If you register with an existing account, you will be logged in instead 
○ The order of the registration steps may vary from country to country 
○ User is able to create account with whitespace password 
○ The registration code may not always come, the confirmation will be done 
automatically 
● Newsfeed 
○ Captions are not translated

 ● Search 
○ The search results have no order 
○ Searching for people by the phone number or email is not available 
● Groups 
○ Group URL doesn’t change when Group Name is changed 
○ It is possible to create groups with 0 members 
○ Is it possible to create a group chat without a name 
○ Trending category has no picture and recommended groups 
● Events 
○ Events do not have any “join” button 
○ Once an event is created, the privacy can’t be changed 
● Notifications 
○ There is no option to clear notifications 
● Chat/Messenger 
○ It is possible to chat with yourself 
○ It is not possible to edit profile in Messenger 
○ Messages and conversations cannot be deleted 
○ You cannot log out from Messenger
