To the Parent/Guardian of XXXXXXXX,

Throughout the course of the semester, XXXX has been a pleasure to instruct in the
gymnasium. She always came into lab with a smile on her face, and was always excited for the
activities that we were going to be doing each and every day. She would get extremely excited to
partake in activities that involve dance, as well as fitness activities that involve Pokémon. Being
able to instruct such a happy and energetic student like XXXX made my experience an
extremely positive one. Not only was XXXX able to learn from me, but I was able to learn from
her as well. Overall, it has been a great experience, and I truly appreciate XXXX’s willingness to
participate in the different activities that I planned for her every week.

XXXX’s fitness levels have improved tremendously in the past twelve weeks. She can
now participate in different exercises and activities for longer periods of time without taking a
break, and now pushes herself to do better instead of giving up. I am absolutely ecstatic about
how much she has progressed. The first lab that I had with XXXX, she told me that she did not
like being in the gymnasium, and did not like activities that involved fitness. I can now say that
XXXX enjoys being in the gymnasium a lot more, and enthusiastically participates in different
fitness activities that we do together. Her willingness to participate has helped progress her
fitness levels, and has made her experience enjoyable for both of us.

Along with her fitness levels, XXXX’s locomotor movement patterns have progressed
greatly as well, moving towards the mature pattern for the locomotor skills that we worked on.
Some of the locomotor movements that she practiced almost every lesson included running,
skipping, hopping, jumping, galloping, sliding, and static balance. I did not work on
manipulative skills with XXXX due to the fact that she does not enjoy partaking in sports. I
thought it was important to focus on improving the skills that would help her progress in areas
that she will continue to use throughout her life. The skills that I worked on with her have helped
in different activities that we have done, a major one being dance. Her balance and coordination
have improved over the past twelve weeks, and this has helped her experience more success in
the gymnasium.

The activities that XXXX loved the most would be anything involving dance, as well as
anything that involved the use of Pokémon. I strongly feel that XXXX should continue dance,
not only within the Sport and Splash program, but within the community as well. Her passion
and enthusiasm for dance is extremely high, and I think that this is a great activity that she would
be able to excel in not only throughout her childhood, but into adulthood as well. Dance helps
improve different health related fitness components and is a great way to include cognitive
stimulation while partaking in physical activity.
Again, I just wanted to take the time to thank you for giving me the opportunity to work
with XXXX! Her positive and energetic self always made me excited to come to lab on
Mondays, and it truly brought out the best in those around her, including myself. She has a great
deal of potential to continue progressing her fitness levels, and learn and partake in new forms of
dance. I hope that she sticks with it!

Sincerely,
Allison Schepis
