Tournament Tracks.
The tournament will run on two tracks;
1. Public Speaking track.
2. British Parliament tracks.
Team composition.
Each university is to be represented by a minimum of two teams (four students) with at least one of
the participants being a lady. A maximum of four teams (8 students) can represent a particular
institution but only the two top performing teams of the four from each participating university can
break to the octal rounds.
Debate logistics.
Accommodation.
Open Space Center and the host university shall provide rooms, a bed and mattress for each
participant. As a participant you will be required to carry your own bedsheets and any other items of
your choice like blankets, a bedcover or a net.
Feeding.
Meals i.e. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner shall be provided to all participants during the course of the
tournament.
Social Night.
There shall be a series of social nights including but not limited to a live band music.
Transportation.
Participants will transport themselves to Open Space Centre offices, from where they, together with
the organizing team will depart to Gulu University.
Departure from Gulu ‘Host university “after the tournament Time and Date.
Participants are to depart from Gulu University on the 9th, November 2019 at 9:00am.
Technical Team.
The following are the members of the technical team;
Awards
Overall Winners Trophy Given to the Best University
The James Ogoola Award Given to the speaker that accumulates the
highest speaker points at the tournament.
The Personality Award Given to a student that is voted by fellow
debaters for having exhibited a pleasing
personality.
Best Adjudicator Given to the best Judge voted by the debaters
Best visiting Team Award Given to the best team from outside Uganda.
