PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSES

The structure of the present continuous in

English is simple:

[SUBJECT] + am/are/is (verb to be) + [ VERB whit -ING

( gerund)]

DENIAL OF THE PRESENT CONTINUOUS.

Denial has the following structure:

[SUBJECT] + am/are/is (verb "to be") +

not + [VERB with -ING ( gerund)].

Example:

- They are not singing.

THE QUESTIONING IN THE PRESENT

CONTINUOUS.
To construct the "questioning", you

simply have to reverse the order of the

subject and the verb to be:

am/are/is + [SUBJECT] + [VERB with"-

ing"]?

Example:
- ¿Is he singing?

USE OF THE PRESENT

CONTINUOUS.

The "present continuous" is used to:

1. Actions that are being done at the

very moment you talk:

I am eating an apple.

2. Cyclical situations in a defined

period of time:

I am getting up early this month.
