1. 3 servers line up at the service line of one said whilst 3 receivers line up at the base line of the other side 2. The servers must attempt to serve the shortest serve possible whilst still clearing the net while the receivers must start moving only on ball contact and try to catch the ball 3. If the server lands the ball on the court, they receive a point, if it is dropped to the floor no points are awarded and if the receiver takes a clean catch they receive a point 4. After 5 serves, the roles change, the students with the most points is the winner
Serving relay: 5vs5
1. Students are in two groups of 5 or more, depending on class numbers 2. The first student serves the ball and if it goes in then they retrieve it and give it to the next student 3. If the first student misses the serve, they must return to the service line and attempt the serve again 4. Once all 5 members of the team have made the serve, they sit down and the first team to be sitting down are the winners 5. To make this drill more difficult, students have to hit a target area or use a certain type of service
Zone serving for points
1. The server starts at one end with 5 balls, on the opposite side the court has been divided into 6 zones worth different amounts of points 2. The server takes the 5 serves and attempts to get the highest amount of points out of 30 possible 3. Records can be kept so students can try to beat their own and the records of others 4. After 5 serves, students retrieve the balls for the next person’s attempt 5. This drill is great for targeting areas for serving rather than just getting it over the net
