Summary

For the first nine months of the year 2018, there are Php 891 billion estimated
worth of food created and produced in the Philippines. But despite the great and
abundant amount of production of food in the country, it is observable that many of the
crops are left unharvested for the exact reason that its characteristics does not pass in the
market’s standards as good quality of raw food that led to its rejection and is left to rot
despite it still being in good condition and still edible. An alarming fact is that though the
Philippines have the abundant amount of resources to be used and consumed, more than
7 million Filipinos claim that they are lacking the sufficient food supply to feed their family
or even call their meal proper even if it is for themselves and this led to malnutrition of
the people who live as below than common types of families based on financial status.

On the other side of the topic which greatly relates to the nationwide problem of
having an insanely huge degree of poverty is that people who are able to buy and consume
plenty of food which some are considered a proper meal and sometimes becomes too
much to be called enough for nutrition tend to have too much leftovers and rather than
repurposing these extra products, they decide to throw them out immediately. A way that
the poor can benefit from them is that instead of throwing their leftovers, it should be
given to the poor for their simple leftovers are already a five star restaurant level for them
but this is not the outcome of the nation’s actions so this led to the issue of wasting of
useful leftovers all over the country.

Review of Documentary

In this documentary, as an informal set from moving city to city in the Philippines.
A 64 year old Gloria Romero was resigned to a life of collecting water in the hard way.
After being relocated in this mountainous area in Antipolo city. “She would go to a well
into a spring to collect for her family daily needs and the water wasn't always safe to use
Gloria said" when we bath using water from the well our skin would get small blisters.
When it rains, water in the well gets contaminated with the sewage. Water from the
delivery truckwasnt fit to drink. And before when I collected water my shoulders hurt me
legs hurt and when the line was long you coudnt collect water right away" Gloria once slip
in fetching water from the springs Gloria said" I was trying to lift the container but had
some difficulty I fell while trying to pull it up" but that was all in the past for Gloria. since
benefiting from the water for the community program. Gloria's family was among 3,690

Recommendation

We recommend that the “Barangay Captain” to gather city funds to create a new
well or hand pump wich they will make it in the safe area which far form sewers to have a
clean safe water source in the city for the better and good of all people . And we also
recommend that the govermment to help the people in need especially when it come to
terms of water because 60 percent of our body is made of water.
