Total Cabinets= 60 Load/Cabinet= 8 kW
Total Load= 480 kW or 505.26 kVA if PF=0.95
NFPA NEC “Percent of Load” Standards;
According to NFPA NEC 2017 Edition, Article 220, Section 220.83, the percent of load standard is;
Air-conditioning and Heating Equipments 100%
Remainder of All other loads 40%
So According to NFPA NEC Standards;
HVAC load is 100% which is equal to = 4124.3 kVA
Lighting and others load is 40% which is equal to = 1527.2 kVA
Total Load= 4124.3 kVA + 1527.2 kVA + 505.26 kVA (100% Cabinets load) = 6156.76 kVA
Note: Data Center cabinets load is 24/7 so we are considering 100% Demand Factor for it.
Demand Factor;
Estimation of connected load in feasibility report= 4500 kVA
Maximum Demand load= 6156.76 kVA if PF=0.95
Demand Factor= Connected load / Maximum Demand load
= 4500 kVA / 6156.76 kVA = 0.730 or 73%
NOTE: The Recommended practice of considering Demand Factor in Pakistan is 0.8 or 80%.
