PLAN FOR THE CLASS TRANSACTION OF THE ACTIVITY

Pre-Listening Activity:

The teacher uses recall questions such as , Do you have dogs/cats at home? What sounds do they
make and engage the class in eliciting as many sounds of animals as she can through recall

While Listening Activity:

1. The teacher distributes the masks of animals or the flashcards of animals and forms
groups of children for each animal.
2. She models what is expected of the children. When the song plays “cat goes meow..
the cat group has to move forward and shout meow meow

4. The teacher plays the song the second time . After playing the song , the flash cards/
masks are given to each child. The child should make the sound of the animal.

Post Listening Activity:

The students can be given flash cards of sound words and form matching pairs of the animal and
the sound word / fill gap exercise using the lyrics of the song given above

PLAN FOR CLASSROOM TRANSACTION OF THE ACTIVITY

Pre-Listening Activity:

a) The teacher narrates a preview of the story in brief.


b) Tr. Makes a worksheet of the picture resources given above.
c) Teacher to call out the bird and asks children to colour specifying the colours.
d) Tr. to read the name and children read after the teacher in call and response manner.
e) Children colour the pictures and write the names after learning them by repetition after
the teacher

While -Listening Activity:

a) Teacher gives the Student Activity Sheet to each student.


b) Plays the song and models on the blackboard for the first character and stops the audio
c) Plays the audio from the beginning and asks children to listen and number
d) Plays the audio once again and instructs children to check their answers

Post- Listening Activity

Reading and writing worksheet based on the lesson- identifying the character

Speaking - what did they say. Children use the picture prompts and speak out the lines or the
gist of the lines. Teacher can initiate /facilitate the Activity in conversation mode.
