Unit-5 - Perspective Projection (Visual Ray Method only)

1. A square lamina of 40mm side lies on the ground plane. One of its corners touching is the pp
and an edge is inclined at 60 O to PP. The station point is 40mm in front of PP, 60mm above GP
and lies in a central plane which is at a distance of 30mm to the corner touching the PP. Draw
the perspective projection of the lamina.
2. A pentagonal lamina of 40mm side lies on the ground. The corner which is nearest to PP is
15mm behind it and an edge containing that corner is making 450 with PP. The station
point is 40mm in front of PP, 50mm above GP and lies in central plan which is at a distance of
70mm to the left of the corner nearest to the PP. Draw the perspective projection of the lamina.
3. A regular hexagonal pyramid of base edge 20mm and height 35mm rests on its base on the
ground plane with one of its base edges touching the picture plane. The station point is 30mm
above the ground plane and 40mm in front of the PP. The central plane is 30mm to the
right of the axis. Draw the perspective projection of the pyramid by visual ray method.
4. Draw the perspective view of a pentagonal prism of base side 20mm and height 40mm when
it rest on its base on the ground with one of its rectangular faces parallel to and 20mm behind
the picture plane. The station point is 45mm in front of the PP and 60mm above the GP. The
observer is 20mm to the left of the axis. Draw the perspective projection of the solid by visual
ray method.

5. A square prism of base 25x25mm and height 40mm rests on the GP on one of its ends with a
rectangular face receding away from the GP towards right making 60 0 with PP. The corner
nearest to the PP is 40mm to the left of the station point and 20mm behind the PP. The station
point is 60mm above GP and 50mm in front of the PP. Draw the perspective view of the prism
by visual ray method.
6. A cylinder of Diameter 40mm and height 40mm rests on the GP on one of its ends with its axis
35mm behind the picture plane. The station point is 45mm to the right of the axis. The station
point is 65mm above the GP and 40mm in front the PP. Draw the perspective view of the
cylinder by visual ray method.
7. A square prism of base 25x25mm and height 40mm rests on the GP with the edges of the base
making 450 with PP. The corner nearest to the PP is 25mm to the right of the station point and
25mm behind the PP. The station point is 55mm above the GP and 70mm in front of the PP.
Draw the perspective view of the square prism.
8. A rectangular prism 40x30x15 mm rests on the ground on one of its ends with one of the
longest edges touching the PP and the shortest edges receding to the left at an angle 40 0 to the
PP. The nearest vertical edge is 15mm to the left of the station point which is at a distance of
55mm in front of the PP and 30mm above the ground. Draw the perspective view of the prism.
9. Draw the perspective view of a square prism of base side 20mm and height 35mm resting on
an end on the ground with a rectangular face parallel to the picture plane. The axis of the prism
is 25mm behind the PP and 25mm to the right of the eye. The eye is 50mm in front of the PP
and 50mm above the ground.
10. A square pyramid of base edge 20mm and altitude 40mm rests on its base on the ground with
a base edge parallel to the picture plane. The axis of the pyramid is 25mm behind PP and 25mm
to the right of the eyes. The eye is 50mm in front of the PP and 50mm above the ground. Draw
the perspective view of the square pyramid.
11. A square prism, side of base 40mm and height 60mm rests its base on the ground such that
one of its rectangular faces is parallel to and 10mm behind the picture plane. The station point
is 30mm in front of the PP, 80mm above the ground plane and lies in a central plane 45mm to
the right of the center of the prism. Draw the perspective projection of the prism.
12. A rectangular prism side of base 50mm x 30mm and height 55mm rests with base on the
ground plane. A vertical edge is in the picture plane and one of the longer edges of its base is
inclined at 450 to PP and behind it. The station point of 50mm in front PP, 75mm above the
ground plane and lies in a central plane which passes through the center of the prism. Draw the
perspective projection of the solid.
13. A cube of side 25mm rests on one of its faces on the ground, the nearest edge being 20mm
behind the picture plane and 40mm to the left of the station point. A face containing the nearest
vertical edge is inclined at 600 to the PP. The station point is 40mm above the ground and 60mm
in front of the PP. Draw the perspective view of the cube.
14. A hexagonal prism of base side 20mm and height 50mm stands on its base on the ground with
a base side parallel to the PP and 20mm behind the picture plane. The station point is 65mm
above the ground and 55mm in front of PP and located at 30mm to the left extreme corner of
the prism. Draw the perspective view of the prism.
