LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to identify the letters, sound out the phonemes and segment
M the words into phonemes with guidance.
C At the end of the lesson, all pupils will be able to write letters and group at least 8 out of 12 words correctly.
1. Display picture cards of objects with the phonemes (wh), (ph), (oe), (ew),
(oe), (au).
2. Pupil name the pictures.
3. Then, show word cards.
4. Emphasise the phonemes.
5. Pupils repeat the words twice.
6. Guide pupils to segment the words into phonemes.
II. LESSON DEVELOPMENT
7. Then, get the pupils to match the words to the correct pictures.
8. Organise pupils into groups.
9. Distribute two phonics dices.
10. Pupils take turns roll the dices.
11. Pupils segment the words and read the words aloud.
12. The rest of the group members listen and repeat.
