I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. examine comprehension of vocabulary words from the work through a visual presentation.
2. arrange the events of a given story chronologically.
3. reflect and give their own meaning of love and trust based on their own perspective.

III. Procedure:
a. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
Let one student from Group 3 to lead the prayer.

2. Checking of Attendance
The secretary of each group will report the attendance.

3. Checking of Assignment
The teacher will call a volunteer to read an example of persuasive text as their
homework.

4. Review
- What is a persuasive text?
- What are the features of persuasive text?

b. Development of the Lesson


1. Motivation
Each group will be given envelope containing pieces of puzzle. They need to form
movie posters out of it.

What do these movies have in common?

2. Lesson Proper
- The meaning of myth will be recalled.
- The teacher will show a short video clip of the story of Orpheus.

- Each group will be asked of one unfamiliar word from the story. They will also be
asked to give the definition and a simple sentence using the word.
- The teacher will discuss the short biography of the author.
- In discussing the story proper, group collaboration will be needed.
- Each group must have the materials prepared (white cartolina, permanent marker,
and the multicolored lyre).

- Each member will be represented by a particular color of lyre to distinguish who


will answer for a certain question.
- Follow-up questions and supplementary information will be added by the teacher
as the discussion progresses.

- After the questions are being answered, a short video clip will be played showing
the effect of depression to the human body.

3. Application

Five important details from the story will be posted. The teacher will call
students to arrange it in chronological order. One student will be asked to read it once
the details are arranged correctly.

Answer the following questions:

5. Explain the reaction of Hades and Persephone upon hearing Orpheus’ music.
6. What is the condition given by Hades to Orpheus so he could take Eurydice back? (2pts.)
7. This is the very last word from Eurydice when Orpheus failed to follow the condition.
8. If you were Orpheus, would you have looked back to see if Eurydice was following? Why or why
not? (2pts.)
