CIRCUITS 1
Discussion:
The Superposition Theorem for electrical circuits states that the response (Voltage
or Current) in any branch of bilateral linear circuit having more than one independent
source equals the algebraic sum of the responses caused by each independent source
acting alone, while all other independent sources are replaced by their internal
impedances.
Procedure:
Superposition Theorem
1. Connect the circuit as shown in the figure on the breadboard.
2. Set the value of voltage supply 1 to12V and supply 2 to 0V and measure the
potential difference across A and B. Also measure the current through load of 1KΩ.
Name the results obtained as V1 and I1.
3. Set the value of voltage supply 2 to 9V and supply 1 to 0V and measure the
potential difference across A and B. Also measure the current through load of 1KΩ.
Name the results obtained as V2 and I2.
4. Now set the value of voltage supply 1 to 12V and supply 2 to 9V and measure the
potential difference across A and B and current through load of 1KΩ. Notice that
V of 1KΩ = V1 + V2. As well as I of 1KΩ = I1 + I2.
5. REPEAT above steps for different load resistor.
