ENGAGING QUESTIONS:

1. Are you familiar with the Teaching across Curriculum Approach? What is it?

Ans. Teaching across the Curriculum, I used to hear this phrase to our school principal most of the time,
every time we have a meeting or conference. Actually this approach, it is the idea of integrating thinking
and learning skills across curriculum to help students retain important information and develop their
ability to visualize and analyze the lesson without missing other components and aspects of the topic.

2. Are you aware that application of knowledge content within and across teaching areas is part of the
criteria for the COT-RPMS?

Ans. Yes. It is the number 1 in the COT-RPMS rating sheet.

EXPLORATORY QUESTIONS:

1. What are you perceptions of Teaching across the Curriculum (TAC)?

Ans. Integrating two or more fields into a single lesson plan makes the teacher more effective and efficient
in teaching. Yes, may we say it’s a deviation, but the point is simply to make a connection, to create a link
between doctrine and practice so that the students understand and retained the lesson as well as students
might not necessarily make on their own.

2. How often do you apply the TAC in teaching science? In what way do you apply TAC in your science
lessons?

Ans. Most of the time in delivering my lesson. Like for example in my subject science, science requires the
application of math especially when I measure the distance, the kilograms, meters, etc.

3. How were your experiences on Teaching across the curriculum in science?

Ans. Certainly, it makes teaching in science more exciting and interesting.

4. How beneficial is Teaching across Curriculum for you as a science teacher?

Ans. It is very effective in delivering my science lesson. It would be easy for me to relay to my students
the different theories of my topics and the students as well easily understand the concept. Overall, it is a
more effective learning on the part of the students.

EXIT QUESTIONS:

1. If you were to suggest, how would you like the TAC in science to be done to help you perform better
as a teacher?

Ans. If I will be given a chance, I will suggest to the DepEd administrators to conduct more trainings and
seminars relative to Teaching across the Curriculum in science and have the Master Teachers monthly
demonstration to teachers for us to get more ideas in delivering our lessons.

2. Would you like to say more about Teaching Across the curriculum?

Ans. That would be all, I think I talk too much already. Good afternoon.
