We, the Future Electrical Engineers are all grateful as we were given a chance to be the participants of

the the wonderful event hosted by the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) Batch 1999 as
they celebrate their 20th anniversary during August 26 held at Siliman University Conference Hall, it was
a great privilege to be part of such kind of event where the Electrical Engineering students from Siliman
University and Negros Oriental State University gathered together to witness the success in the lives of
the BSEE batch 1999.

The program started by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and a prayer, visitors and guests
were welcomed by the very own Engineer Florence Gale Calis. It was inspiring to listen to the speakers of
the event where they share to us about the outside and realistic field of electrical world and jobs that
involve electricity and application or uses of electrical components. The first speaker is Engineer Neil
Catahay, PEE, which share to us his expertise and knowledge about Substation operation and
maintenance, he tells so many ideas about the functions of a substation as generation, transmission and
distribution system in adjusting voltage power, we are also amazed to know that a power transformer
consist so many protection that acts as electricity breaker if it experiences a 'fault' to prevent the whole
system to be damaged. Second who lectured us is Engineer Oliver Laro about his business with the use
of Solar Energy, he told us how solar power is beneficial as source of electricity and it is more convenient
to use since it doesn't need to go through generation plants and it can be used directly by a solar panel,
it can also reduce electricity bills under electric corporation. The third speaker is Engineer Enriczar Tia,
PEE which discussed about Kuryentalks, in which he emphasizes the understanding the basics of electric
power industry with emphasis in power distribution wherein we learned how electricity is being
generated in a power plantation, transmitted through power lines and transformers and then distributed
in our homes. Then the last but not the least is Engineer Jufry Cantal who informed us about Basic Fire
Safety and Prevention Procedure in which he lectured us about the tetrahedron of fire and the dangers
of not complying to the fire code which is very important in the safety of industrial and commercial
buildings as well as people inside such building. He told us safety tips and most especially reminded us to
'never panic' to avoid chaos in emergency situation.

The event ended by giving the certificate of appreciation to the speakers and lastly we took pictures
together and called it a day.
