Summary:
To ensure the highest level of protection, as well as to provide more compatibility and stability, Hikvision
has introduced a new version of the well-known iVMS-4200 software. To avoid any compatibility or
functionality issues, it is recommended to upgrade to the newest version of the software.

Procedure:
Click on the link below to download the latest version of the SADP software:

After downloading the software, launch the installation wizard to complete the installation process.
It is recommended to disable the computer’s antivirus software and launch the iVMS-4200 software as
administrator.

To reset a device’s password, launch the iVMS-4200 software; go to Control Panel menu, Device
Management, which will locate all Hikvision devices on the network.

Reset Password

According to the different model number and firmware version, the software provides three different
methods for restoring the default password or resetting the password.
Select the device from the Online Device list; click Reset Password (Figure 2).

Option 1:
If the window with security code field pops up, input the security code, and then you can restore the
default password of the selected device.
Note: The security code is provided by Technical Support after you send your device complete serial
number via email techsupport.usa@hikvision.com or via Password reset request form on
http://tech.hikvisionusa.com/password-reset.
Customer can get the complete serial number from SADP software.

Option 2:
If the window with import file and export file buttons pops up (Figure 3), perform the following steps to
restore the default password:

Click Export to save the device file on your PC.

After pressing the EXPORT button a new Export File window will appear. For ease of use, select
DESKTOP as the export directory, type in the file name and click on the Save button on the bottom
(Figure 4).

After the file has been exported, it can be easily located on the desktop (Figure 5).

After locating the reset file on the desktop, send the encrypt file via email to
techsupport.usa@hikvision.com or via Password reset request form on
http://tech.hikvisionusa.com/password-reset.

Please allow up to an hour to receive a reply during normal business hours (Mon-Fri 6AM-4:30PM PST).
If the email was sent outside of normal business hours, the reply will be sent on the next business day.
The reply from the technical support team will contain a reset file, generally called ENCRYPT (the file
may have an altered name, if files for multiple devices are being sent). Upon receiving the reset file
download it to the DESKTOP (for ease of access) (Figure 8). Please note, the reset file is good for 4
calendar days, and during those days the device for which the reset file has been generated cannot
be rebooted or powered down.

NOTES: If it is failed to get the key, you will need to run your SADP software as administrator (right click
on SADP software icon, then click on “run as administrator”)

To “import” the reset file, click on the button with a Three Dots ICON (Figure 6).

A new OPEN window will appear. Select DESKTOP as an import directory and select the reset file and
click on the OPEN button (Figure 7).

To “import” the Secure Key, Select Input Key on Key Importing Mode, then enter the key that
provided by Tech Support (Figure 8).

Type the new password into the NEW PASSWORD field, then confirms the password by re-typing the
password into the CONFIRM PASSWORD field. Press OK.
A success message will appear notifying about a successful password recovery.
