CONTRIBUTIONS IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

During the Aquino's administration, Plans and Programs regarding Science and Technology was
implemented in which it aims to:

(1) Modernized the Production Sector,

(2) Upgrade Research Activities,

(3) Develop Science and Technology Infrastructures.

- one of the technologies implemented in the field of Agriculture is what we called the "trichoderma" it
reduces our dependence on imported fertilizers.

- in the field of aquaculture, she raised the “ sex reversal technology” on tilapia in which It established
the preference of all-male tilapia due to better and more uniform growth under culture system.

- Cereal-legume, which help ease malnutrition.

-Including in the field of Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals the local manufacture and commercial
production were implemented; medicinal plants like sambong, for urine excretion, yerba buena, pain
reliever, and tsaang gubat for diarrhea.

These are just few of her many contributions in health-related development towards her country.

However, even on different branches of our government like legislative and judicial are now using
computer based technologies, which will help them transcribe files into documents.

-Meanwhile, the popular PABX /Private Automatic Branch give rise as to its regime as we reach the goal
of having telecommunications with low price yet high quality service.

-In her term, the former National Science and Technology (NST) was turned into Department of Science
and Technology (DOST) as a representation for the cabinets; The use of ECG Monitor is one
implementation through this, it is an inexpensive monitor in place of the costly XY Monitors.

-The administration may well be known as the fast-track started in city and disaster stricken areas.

-many baranggay roads have been built. For example is the Lopez- Catanauan Road
SOME OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS:

Aside from her major contributions in the advancement of our Science and technology here are some of
her notable programs and reforms as an opposition leader to the former administration;

-Former President Cory Aquino ended the dictatorship of her predecessor by ratifying the constitution
into a democtratic country— known as the 1987 constitution. She is the reason for achieving such
freedom in our country, she limts the power of the executives.

-Aquino also focused on reforms and distrubution of agricultural lands. A comprehensive program were
made to promote social justice and industrialization providing the mechanism for its implementation
and for other purposes. This is known as RA. No. 6657 or Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law which
was enacted during Aquino's term.

-Meanwhile, on Filipino's identity, she has contributed on labeling filipino language as the country's
national language— this was happened in her term.
