DETAILED LESSON PLAN

I. Objectives
 Identify the elements of a short story;
 Use the plot /story structure to identify the sub-elements of a plot; and
 Appreciate the story as a means of valuing the moral lesson.

III. Procedure

 Cinderella goes to the ball and dances
with the prince.
 Cinderella leaves hurriedly at midnight
and loses a slipper.

 The stepsisters try to force their feet into
the slipper, but it fits Cinderella.
Falling Action
 Cinderella and the prince marry.

Resolution
 They live happily ever after.

Plot- what happens in a story.


A series of events and character actions that
relate to the central conflict.

Sub-elements of a plot:

Introduction/Exposition- this includes the


background of characters and setting.

Rising action- this includes the events leading up


to the main problem or conflict.

Climax- this is when the problem reaches a high


point.

Falling Action- this is when the characters work


to solve the problem or conflict. (One of the students will answer.)

Resolution/ Denouement- this is how things end


up in the story. (Students will gi to the board and
answer.)
