• Rizal was three years old when his mother, Doña
Teodora taught him how to read and pray.
• The story of the moth was told by his mother as
well when she noticed that Rizal’s focus was not
on the book she’s teaching him (Amigo de Los
Niños – Kaibigan ng mga Bata) but on the flames
where moths was flying around.
