Focus : Listening and speaking

Theme : World of self, family, and friends

Topic : Unit 1: Hooray! We are back!

Content Standard : 1.2.1 1.1.4 (LBI)

Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

a) Greet each other using simple sentences


b) (LBI) sound out the phoneme /h/ correctly

Teaching aids : Sentence strips

CCE : Values and citizenship

Activities :

(All)

1. Class monitor greets the teacher follow by all pupils.

2. Teacher responses and introduces other greeting forms eg: Hello, Hi and How are you?

3. Pupils in group of 3 introduce themselves using the related sentence patterns.

4. Pupils say the sound of /h/ shown by the teacher.

5. Pupils repeat the words after teacher: ‘Hello”, “Hi”, “How are you?” and “Hadi”

6. Sing Hello! Hello! Song (textbook pg 8).

Reflection : 1) 20/35 pupils were able to greet appropriately.

2) 5 LBI pupils were able to say the phoneme taught with teacher’s guidance.

Topic : Unit 4: People around us

Content Standard : 1.1.4 (MS) 1.2.2 (a) (LBI)

Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

a) Name occupations that they know verbally via singing a song.


b) (LBI) sound out the phoneme /er/ correctly.

Teaching aids : Pictures of occupation, Pupil’s module.

CCE : Values and citizenship

Activities :

(All)

1. Class monitor greets the teacher follow by all pupils.

2. Students will be asked of their ambition.

3. Students will sing the song of ‘When I grow up’ by saying the names of occupation.

4. Students have to practice singing the song with pictures of the occupation.

(LBI)

4. Pupils say the sound of /er/ shown by the teacher.

5. Pupils repeat some words after teacher: teacher, gardener, cleaner

6. Students watch the performance of MS students
