Narration: LinkedIn is an employment-oriented service that operates through websites and
mobile sites. The site allows you to access important articles and posts that you might find useful
and relevant to your life. The site is also heavily used for researching companies and industries,
finding and applying to jobs, and building a strong professional network.
LinkedIn allows employees to network with numerous people
in their same field of work. For example, whenever a luncheon is held with a
different company, employees just need to give the new individuals they meet a
business card with their LinkedIn username. It’s almost like a Facebook page
but for work purposes, it allows business partners to share ideas and tips that
will lead to success. This social media site certainly interconnects the
workforce as a whole.

Question pt.2

Narration: Social media helps employees interact and work with each other in a more enjoyable way.
It is clear that many aspects of our lives have been taken over and made easier by social media, so why
not incorporate it into our work life? It encourages teammates to converse and get to know each other
on more than just a professional level. When you give employees a chance to actually get to know the
people they are working with, it can create a more smooth and fluent work community. With big
companies, it is nearly impossible to know everybody you work with. Using social media could bridge
a lot of gaps created by numerous departments. You never know what kind of problems lie in the future,
so it wouldn’t hurt to have all employees mingle every once in a while. Job tasks can be easily posted,
shared and revisited when using social media. Since everyone is connected, it can keep everyone
informed of current responsibilities, problems, etcetera.
Notes: Flash ‘1’ on the screen before “It encourages..”,
Flash ‘2’ on the screen before “With big…”, Flash ‘3’ on the screen before “Job tasks..”. Leave
current number on screen until next is cued. No other images presented. Music should be
lower than usual, due to the amount of information said.

Narration: There are several cons to allowing the use of Social Media in the workforce. If it is
not used in the right ways it can cause distractions that will lead to unproductivity and loss for
a company. Humans will be humans if they see the opportunity to use social media for
personal use they will take it. The company’s reputation may be impacted if employees post
inappropriate or rude statuses in their accounts, it may lead to conflicts with business
partners. It's important to make it clear to all employees what they are allowed to do on social Image by William Iven from Pixabay
media platforms, and to make a separate work account if need be.
