GRACE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
INTERVIEW REVIEWER
I. BASIC/PERSONAL/CHRISTIAN LIFE
I want this job because I consider teaching as my calling and one of my ministries. I remembered the
time when I was in High School, my Pastor encouraged me to choose education course in College
because he believes that teaching is one of the most profitable profession but I did not listen and
chose Business course. After I graduated and it was time to work, God still led to me academe using
my Business course. Surprisingly, I became happy in this path. As Grace opened its door and as God
leads me here, one thing came up in my mind, I want to grow and fulfill God's calling in this place.
Thus, I really want to get the job.
5. What is your greatest professional achievement?
6. Tell me about a challenge or conflict you've faced at work, and how you dealt with it.
-Students being pregnant/absenteeism, parents expecting students to graduate but do not.
7. What's your dream job?
Honestly, I dreamt of becoming a comic artist, illustrator or movie director. I am passionate with
drawing and creative movies ever since I was a kid. That is my inner desire. However, God led me to
teaching, that is why improving in this job is now my dream and desire. Good thing is, I can still apply my
creativity in class through drawing or visualizing hard concepts.
20. Give a time when you went above and beyond the requirements for a project.
-submission of school requirements before the set deadline
-creative in class/study the lesson with full dedication
III. TEACHING/SITUATIONAL
-I believe on teaching students more than what is written in the book. More than the
concepts, I want to let them know the purpose, essence of those things in our daily lives.
For example, I once teach IT students with basic accounting. If we come to think of it,
what will usual IT students do with accounting after they graduate? I always tell them
that business companies have their IT department which troubleshoots accounting
software/system. If they are not familiar when what is going on in the process of
accounting, how can they troubleshoot accounting system problems? Without them
troubleshooting the accounting system right, the business could possibly incur great
losses.
3. How much do you want to know about your students in order to be most helpful to them?
I need to know students learning style, what interests them, what encourages them.
Example______________________________________________________
4. Why do you want to work for our school/Why not stays at your current school?
-Grace is a Christian school, established already, fit with my core values; it can have career
growth here, more opportunities and training, I always want to improve myself specially in the
field of teaching,
5. How can you help our school/students?
-I and the school I believe have the same mission, to produce students with godly fear and
become good leaders someday.
6. What do you find most frustrating about teaching?
-Most frustrating is when student’s attention span is so short. You cannot totally hold their
minds or control their actions or behaviors. I have to control mine. I have to think creative ways
to get their attention and become interested to what I am saying or teaching.
7. Why should we hire you to teach here?
-same as answer above: I have strong biblical foundation, I can incorporate that to my teaching,
I have teaching work experience, I have skills acquired through that experience, I do things for
the glory of God, thus I do my best in whatever I do. I am committed to God more than to
anyone else. If you are committed to God, you will always want to do what is right.
8. How would you get your classroom ready for the first day of school?
I want my classroom to be welcoming and nurturing. I also make the ground rules
obvious. A welcome sign and labeled desks help students feel at home from day one.
Engaging posters and other visual aids help create a sense of excitement. Beyond fun, a
large list of rules and consequences at the front of the room helps the class start on the
right foot. (Sample answer)
-I will engage the students with some activity to make them feel comfortable.
25. Tell about a tough time in your life God ended up using for good.
28. What is one thing you’re super thankful for and don’t acknowledge enough?
51. People invest time and energy into developing their career; their bodies and relationships, but
often neglect the spiritual dimension of their lives. How do you actively pursue spiritual growth?
52. Do you think much about spiritual things? (This usually leads to conversation about what
"spiritual" means-i.e. religion versus relationship.)
53. How has this experience affected the way you look at God?
54. We've never had a chance to talk about your religious background. Where would you say you
are in your spiritual pilgrimage?
55. I'd like to tell you how I established a personal relationship with God. (Tell your personal
testimony of how you became a Christian. Keep it to three minutes, using the following outline:
Before-What characterized my life before I trusted Christ. During-How I came to trust Christ.
After-How I am different now.)
56. What is your concept of God? Do you view him positively or negatively?
57. Do you find that faith and spiritual values play a role in your (work) (day) (marriage) (perspective
on life)?
58. If you could be sure there is a God, would you want to know him? Or if you could know God
personally, would you want to?

church to be a bigger part of your life? What prompted this? Would you want to hear our basic
