Voltage Source Inverter (circuit)

Voltage source inverters (VSI) are commonly used to trans- fer real power from a DC power source to an AC
load, such as an AC motor. Usually, the DC source voltage is nearly constant and the amplitude of the AC
output volt- age is controlled by adjusting the PWM ratio of the VSI.

SPWM Control strategy

Sinusoidal PWM is a type of "carrier-based" pulse width modulation. Carrier based PWM uses pre-defined
modulation signals to determine output voltages. In sinusoidal PWM, the modulation signal is sinusoidal, with
the peak of the modulating signal always less than the peak of the carrier signal.
