" Apple Cider Vinegar and Coconut oil as main component in Organic

Insecticide.”

RESEARCH PLAN/PROJECT SUMMARY

RATIONALE
The purpose of this study was to inform everyone that it is possible to create an organic
insecticide which is cheaper than buying a commercial insecticide. The main
components of this study are the Cocos Nucifera/Coconut Oil, Acetic Acid/Apple Cider
Vinegar, Aloe Barbadensis Miller/Aloe Vera and Garlic/Allium sativum which acts as the
repeller and killer of the insects. Based on scientific studies regarding the said
ingredients, they contain constituents such as acids and oils that might help in killing
the insects.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS
1.) Would Coconut oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Aloe Vera and Garlic be an effective
component in the organic insecticide?
2.) Did the samples that was created worked against insects?
3.) Is there a significant difference in the effectivity level of sample 1 and sample 2?

HYPOTHESIS
Coconut Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Aloe Vera, and Garlic is effective as an organic
insecticide.

ENGINEERING GOALTo test the feasibility of Coconut oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Aloe Vera
and Garlic in the organic insecticide.
EXPECTED OUTCOME
The researchers will prove that the organic insecticide created can be a convenient
alternative to a commercial insecticide.
RESEARCH METHODS AND CONCLUSIONS
a. Procedures
First, the researchers will prepare all the ingredients and items that would be used
for the experiment. Then, they will pour each ingredient in separate containers, pour
all the ingredients in a bigger container and now mix it for 1 minute afterwards.
Finally, to make the organic insecticide, the researchers will pour the created
concoction in a container with a lid that allows them to spray it.
b. Risk and Safety
The researchers should be cautious when handling the vinegar. Other than that, this
research is mostly safe.
c. Data Anaylsis
The researchers will use the characteristics of the Coconut Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar,
Aloe Vera, and Garlic such as the odor, clarity/color, and feasibility/capability after
the procedure to analyze the data gathered.
