Power grip
Power grip delivers 120N of
force distributed among all
four fingers and the thumb.
This grip is useful for picking
up large objects, doing
handshakes or crushing
empty cans. Individual finger
stalling allows for this grip
to adapt to the shape of the
object and pick up things like
a wine glass. With advanced
sensors, the hand optimizes
the force applied to the object.
Finger point
This is a static grip where
the index finger remains in
a pointing position and rest
of the fingers close. This can
be used for typing, operating
a mobile phone or pushing
switches and buttons.
Open palm
The hand opens to an extent where it provides a slight curvature
to support plates, bowls and books. The rubberized palm
provides a flat, non slippery surface to confidently hold objects in
this grip.
Hook grip
Key grip
This is a commonly used
grip for picking up thin flat
objects, holding a spoon
and turning a page. The four
fingers assume a position to
provide a flat platform for the
thumb. The thumb can be
controlled proportionately to
open and close.
Mouse grip
To operate a computer mouse, this grip is used. The hand
assume the position of the mouse. The index finger and the
middle finger can be controlled proportionately to push left and
right buttons respectively.
Rest hand
This grip gives a natural and
lifelike appearance to the
hand. The thumb is in non
opposed position and closed.
The fingers are closed slightly.
This type of grip is the ideal
state of the hand in period of
inactivity.
