A DETAILED INFORMATION LESSON PLAN IN WELDING TECHNOLOGY

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of lesson, the students are expected to:
a. define bench metal work;
b. enumerate and explain the three linear measurement; and
c. listen critically to the explanation of the teacher.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

a. Unit Concept: Introduction in Bench Metalwork’s
b. Sub-Concept: Linear Measurements.
c. Reference: Internet www.benchmetalworks.com
d. Materials: Visual Aids, Chalkboard, and tools.

III. PROCEDURE

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Preparation
a. Classroom Management
b. Opening Prayer
c. Review of the past lesson

 Good Morning Class!  Good Morning Sir!

 Class last meeting we tackled
about the shop safety precaution.
Let have a recap for what has been
discuss last meeting.
 Will you give one safety  1. Remove tie should not truck in
precaution? your shirt. Wear a bow tie if you must
wear a tie

 Very Good!  Roll your sleeves above your elbow.

 Another?
 Very Good!
 What else?  Wear approved safety goggles.
 Very Good

 Okay! Class do not forget this shop

safety precautions, this will be your
guide every time you work for you
projects.

 Are there any Question?  None Sir!

B. Motivation:
 Class did you already saw an artistic  (Students Response)
metal work made of metal?

 But before that we must have a

background for this, (so that) before
we work for this metal.
C. Presentation:
 Today, I am going to explain to you
what is bench metal works.
 Will you read what is bench metal  Bench metal works deal with the
works? study of hand tools,
operation/process in the
manufacturing of scrap materials to
 Very Good! usable project.
 Bench metal works deals with the
study of hand tools. Class handtools
is the tools that are used manually or
by hand.
 Will you give example of hand tools?
 Hammer
Files
 Very Good! Screw Drivers

 What else?
 Hack saw
Pliers
 Very Good! Cold chisel
 Those are the different kinds of tools.
Bench metal also deals with the study
of operation.

When we say operation this mean

that, how to manipulate and what is
the process is making metal works.

Another meaning of metal works in

the processes in the manufacturing of
scrap materials to usable project.

 Do you know what is scrap

materials?  No, Sir!

 Scrap materials this are the materials

have been cut off.
 Will you read the meaning of metal
works?  Metal works usually deal with linear
measurements.

 Ok Very Good!
 There are three linear
measurements.
 Will you give them all?
 1. Width
2. Length
 Very Good! 3. Height
 Width is distance from to side; the
measurement is taken at the right
angle to the length.
 Next is the length. Length is the
larger or longest dimension of an
object also a measured distance.

And the last linear measurements are

the height.

Height is the richest part and the

distance from bottom to the top of
something standing up right.

Metal works includes the study of

measurements.

Therefore, the first step in any shop

operation is measuring.

And always remember that, because

we cannot do a project in metal works
without measurement.

 Right class?
 Yes Sir!

 Are there any question regarding to

our lesson?  None, Sir!

D. Application
The teacher will ask the student about the lesson and the student will answer.

E. Teaching Techniques
Deductive and Socratic Method

F. Generalization
Metalworking is the process of working with metals to create individual parts,
assemblies, or large-scale structures. The term covers a wide range of work form large
ships and bridges to precise engine parts and delicate jewelry. It therefore includes a
correspondingly wide range of skills, processes and tools.

IV. Evaluation
The Work of the student will be graded base on the following criteria:

Workman ship………………………..40%
Accuracy……………………………...40%
Speed…………………………………20%
______
100%
V. Assignment
Bench Metal Works
1. What is English System?
2. Give example of measuring tools?
3. What is metric system?
4. Give an example of metric length in the system of unit under metric system
