INTRODUCTION:

Many students could not manage their time efficiently, most of the time it is the students of

Senior High School is the one who are facing this problem. Since they did not have any

challenges or difficulties in Junior High School they feel outcast, unready and it looks that they

don’t have a knowledge about this. A mass number of students these days spent less time in

studying. Different factors are to be considered regarding the decrease in the amount of time in

studying of students. Some factors include procrastination, non academic after school activities,

setting priorities, And a habits that may affect the academic performance of students who

struggles in managing their time. Management is planning how to divide your time between

having a poor time management.:

These are the Common Problem in Terms of Time Management:

A. Procrastination
B. Unpreparedness
C. priority
D. Poor Concentration
E. Non academic after school activity

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY:

This research study will have implications at many levels. First, it will be useful for school heads

to understand the importance of teaching students time management skills. Second, parents will

benefit as their children’s academic performance might improve. Third, students themselves will

no longer suffer from lack of time management skills; students will use the findings to reflect on

their studying and use it in the future and also Teachers can help to those students who are lack in

time management by motivating them and help them by making a schedule to be aware what

needs to be done on time.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY

The focus of this research is to find out what are the effects and benefits of the students if they

have proper time management . This research is delimited for GRADE 11 HUMMS and it only

contains 3 Section in Columban College Barretto.

The respondents of the study will be the following 20 students of G11 HUMILITY, 20 students

of G11 LOVE, and 10 students of G11 WISDOM. This research will produce a total population

of 50 respondents of the study. For this reason, Purposive sampling technique was used in this study.

Proper time management is key to success in college. You need to manage time

effectively if you’re going to be successful. The purpose of this study aimed to assess the

effectiveness of time management training on academic time management of students. In this

experimental research, 70 students from university of Mohaghegh Ardabili in Iran were

randomly selected and then assigned in experimental and control groups .Then, two group

completed academic time management scale in pre-test phase. The experimental group received

time management training in 10 sessions (90 minute each session) whereas the control group

never had any training. In ok post-test, experimental and control group completed academic time

management scale again.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE:

Journal of educational psychology 82 (4), 760, 1990

Many college students may find the academic experience very

stressful (KJ Swick, 1987). One potential coping strategy frequently offered

by university counseling services is time management. 165 students

completed a questionnaire assessing their time management behaviors and

attitudes, stress, and self-perceptions of performance and grade point

average (GPA). The study revealed 2 major findings. The Time Management

Behavior Scale consists of 4 relatively independent factors; the most

predictive was Perceived Control of Time. Students who perceived control of

their time reported significantly greater evaluations of their performance,

greater work and life satisfaction, less role ambiguity, less role overload, and

fewer job-induced and somatic tensions. Findings are consistent with theory

and advice on time management (eg, RS Schuler; 1979) but also indicate

that the dynamics of time management are more complex than previously

believed.(PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved).

Goal setting theory which involves coming up with challenging and achievable goals is

also suggested as one of the means through which time can be managed. Another time

management principle is the Time Management Windows Principles which borrows from

Johari’s window.

This principle considers that time can be wasted in a group setting if effective

communication is hindered. Pareto’s 80/20 rule which identifies that only 20% of our activities

produce 80% of the results we desire is also utilized. Finally, the paper discusses Assertiveness

which can assist an individual to avoid wasting time. These theories were tested and the results

reported in my bid to maximize on my study time. From the usage of these theories, I discovered

the best way to manage my time and gain optimum results.

PARADIGM OF THE STUDY:

less stressed and begin to enjoy what they are doing.

Teachers- The given data would provide the teachers some information, assessing

students with knowledge in terms of the Proper Time Management can do to bee a better person

and to let them know the importance too.

Future Researchers -. This research will be useful reference for the researchers who

would plan to make any related style precisely for the proper time management of the students.

CHAPTER 3

METHODS AND TECHNIQUES:

Researchers is doing an investigation about their topic and they all agree to do a survey

to get accurate Information. And they also think that the questionnaire is also good to find a

data so that they can analyze it properly.

POPULATION OF THE STUDY:

This research will be conducted at Columban College- Barretto and the researchers is will

be focuses on the G11 HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) students only. The present year

S.Y 2019-2020.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT:

 Personal Survey
 Questionnaire

DATA GATHERING:

We will gather an information/data using survey, because survey’s are one of the most

straightforward ways to collect that kind of data, The researchers also think that questionnaire is

a big help in able them to solve it properly and to finalize the total of data.

PROCEDURE
First, the researchers think a topic that they could relate to the students. The researchers

choose Time Management because a lot of student don’t know how to manage their time , most

of them are wasting their time for nonsense things . Second, the researchers search more

information about the topic so that they can find out what are the reason why a lot of student

does not have a proper time management . Lastly the researchers use internet to find more

information about the topic. Third, the researchers think that they need more information. So

that the researchers went to library to find useful books to get some information. The researchers

read a books and wrote down the information and use it effectively.

STATISTICAL TREATMENT/ DATA:

The researchers collect data through books and other online resources. Also they looked at

previous researches, research related study, and some formal reports about it. The researchers are

going to collect more data by survey and giving a questionnaire to their target respondents.
