Grade-12 Students of Labrador National High School Chapter I Background of the Study Introduction A number of factors affect senior high school student performance. Many of these factors may be perceived as being academic—related to the relevant skill sets that a student may have and how they access the educational offer. One of the general missions of higher education is to develop these academic skills: enhancing critical thinking and educational frameworks through teaching, feedback, and access to high quality resources. However, nonacademic factors that impact students’ chances of attaining success in higher education are equally important and deserve investigation.
