NARRATIVE REPORT
CAVITE TOUR 2019
October 5, 2019, we had an educational tour in Kawit, Cavite. We go to Aguinaldo Shrine to further
understand the history about Aguinaldo and to personally see the things used during the Spanish and
American colonization and the events happened during that time.

There are a lot of things happened that we did not learn in our history subjects when we are in high school
and also now in college. For example, the Ang Labanan sa Zapote, I don’t remember studying that when
I was in high school and because of going to Aguinaldo Shrine now I know about the Labanan sa Zapote.
You will also see facts about Cavite, which is not taught in high school because they only focus on the
important events that happened in our history.
The exact clothes, things that Aguinaldo used is also there, you will realize that even though he is a
president his things are like the other Filipinos, that he is a normal Filipino and not just a President. His
house also has a minimalist design and the furnitures are also minimalist. Because of this tour I got to
know more about Aguinaldo because my teachers only focused on Bonifacio and other heroes but not
Aguinaldo because he is like an enemy of the Filipinos back then. He contributed a lot to the Philippines
and you will only know that if you visited the Aguinaldo Shrine.
Outside the house of Aguinaldo there are scriptures all about Aguinaldo, the Declaration of Independence
and a long passage of Aguinaldo during the Declaration of Independence.

I just find out now I am in college that the declaration of Independence

of the Philippines is just somehow temporary because according to
my professor that we are not free that time because there is no
evidence that the Americans promise not to colonize us after helping
us with the Spaniards, before my professor said that, I really don’t
know what happened after that war in Manila Bay, I really thought
that the American’s were really helping us, but no they really want to
colonize us because of sugar. I thought that they help us because
they wanted to help but sadly no, it’s just their game to colonize us.
In the passage in the Aguinaldo Shrine it did not say anything about
the terrible reality about our independence, maybe because it is a
shame if people especially foreigners will know how Americans
tricked us. It’s really hard to tell our history because the people
present in those events are dead already. Our history has a lot of
versions that’s why it is better if we visit the places where those
events happened.
After going to Aguinaldo Shrine, of course we also visited Bonifacio Shrine
were Bonifacio was killed.

Going there, you will kinda feel what Bonifacio felt that time because it is a long walk (but if you ride a
tricycle then you will not feel what Bonifacio felt) You will that he walked for so long just to be killed.
According to my teachers before that Bonifacio was killed brutally but my professor said that his death is
a useless death. With all his hard works to defend the Philippines he just died in a hidden mountain.

As I said earlier that our history has

different versions and it’s hard to
believe which is true. For you to
know the truth about our past try
visiting the historical places in the
Philippines. It’s fun and at the same
time you will learn a lot.
