A master’s degree in media education.

4. Where did you obtain your degree?


Rachel obtained her degree from The University of West Georgia.

5. What are your job responsibilities?


Rachel’s job responsibilities are to manage the media and small
equipment budget, daily media center activities, troubleshoot
technology, webmaster, and to teach lessons to students.

6. What are typical daily activities for your job?


Typical daily activities for Rachel are shelving books,
troubleshooting technology, and processing new technology.

7. Do you have a budget that you control? How do you make decisions on
selecting resources for your stakeholders?
Rachel controls the media budget. She chooses what she thinks the
students will enjoy. She also takes advice from teachers. She also
looks at curriculum needs. She also controls the small equipment
budget.

8. Have you had an opportunity to impact technology implementation


throughout your school? Would you describe a specific example?
Rachel stated that she has had the opportunity to impact
technology implantation at her school. She stated that she was on
the iPad committee when the district decided to go 1:1 with iPads.

9. Does your school have a technology committee? How are technology


decisions made?
Rachel stated that they currently do not a formal technology committee. She
stated that technology decisions are made by the technology directors at the
district level.

10. What is the best part of your job?


Rachel stated that the best of her job is the freedom of her schedule
that comes with her position.
11. What do you find to be the most challenging part of your job?
Rachel stated that the most challenging part of her job is finding a balance
between technology and daily media center activities, such as shelving and
checking in books.
