Human Behavior in Organizations

1. Discuss how each group that comprise organizational structure impact organizations.
- Individual has a great impact in an organization. Organization is consisting of
different individual. It can affect the organization positively and negatively.
The performance of individual reflects on the achievements attained by an
organization.
- Group performs a big role in an organization. Members of each group should
have a good relationship in order for them to become more productive.
- Organization itself can affects the organization. The organization must have
a good relationship with their environment and to become known.
2. Give at least three (3) external factors that affect employee behavior in organizations and
explain how you will help your employees balance work-life conflicts.
I. Technology – low quality of technology can be a threat to every
organizations. The management should acquire a quality and updated
technology to become more effective and efficient company. It helps the
workers to work fast and effective.
II. Economy – the management should produce products and services that
are suitable to their target market. The price of product/services must be
justifiable to what kind of product/services the consumers acquiring. It can
also motivate the workers to produce more.
III. Environment – traffics are very rampant nowadays especially in Urban
area and some of the Rural are. It is threat for every organization because
it can make their production slow. In some case, the employees are being
stock in long traffic that can results them to become late in their works.
The management should have plans regarding to this matter. The possible
plan is to have a housing for those who are living far from the workplace.
3. How would you respond as a manager to globalization factors affecting human behavior
in organizations such as:
A. Increased foreign assignments – as a manager, transferring to other
countries may be a great help in what management I have. I will have to
manage workforce which is new to me that I can use when I go back to my
workplace.
B. Working with people from different cultures – at first it is very hard to
work with bosses, peers and workmate raised and born in different places
and has different culture. As a manager, I will study and know their
culture and belief they have for me not to hurt somebody and to work
effectively.
C. Coping with anti-capitalism backlash – in times of like this, I need to
learn the proper management practices that are need to be modified to
reflect the values of countries in which organization operates.
D. Overseeing movement of jobs to countries with low-cost labor – as a
manager, it is very hard to compete with the other countries with low-cost
labor especially when you are working in the high-cost labor country. The
advantage is the cost of labor is low and the job is overflowing but the bad
thing is that close competition with other companies are present.
E. Managing people during war on terror – as a manager, I need to
become more aware of my employees` behavior and emotions they have. I
need to learn how to communicate with them effectively and leadership to
apply in times they are experiencing fear especially during war.
