Eclectic approach (kenya) - DONE

The teacher plays and communicates with the learner in the Eclectic Approach.
According to Floresar (2008), the eclectic method is a combination of different
approaches to learning. The current educational technologies are adapted to the
environment so that learning is not boring. Hence, teachers need to be creative in
using different approaches to capture students' learning interest and curiosity.
The teachers can choose from various methods and approaches used for language
teaching in an eclectic approach , one of the them is total physical response (TPR).
Incorporating action songs is a great TPR activity for language learning. Students can
learn musically, verbally, visually, and physically all at the same time through action
songs and this will enhance information memorization and the ability to recall what
have been learned. Children's action songs support listening and necessitates
following directions as students need to listen to action songs and follow directions to
sing, move, and develop new ideas. Collaboration and social skills are developed
when they are learning to be quiet, listening, following directions, taking turns,
cooperating. Action songs are a fun way of teaching and strengthening language,
vocabulary and word understanding.
