I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to
a. gather relevant information from various sources – glossary, dictionary and
encyclopedia
b. present information gathered from various sources - glossary, dictionary and
encyclopedia
c. work in groups cooperatively

II. Subject Matter

III. Procedure
A. Pre-Lesson Assessment of  Teacher will have a review of the previous
Target Skill/s lesson through drill.
Glossary - is a mini dictionary found at the end of
a textbook.
- Words are arranged alphabetically just like
in a dictionary
- Words listed in glossary are words found in
the textbook usually in stories.
Dictionary – a reference book that contains words
listed in alphabetical order and that gives
information about the words’ meanings,
pronunciation, part of speech and
sentence example.
Encyclopedia - a book or set of books giving
information on many subjects or on many
aspects of one subject and typically arranged
alphabetically

 Teacher will ask pupils to watch a video.


 Teacher will ask questions about the video the
pupils have watched.
B. Introduction  Teacher will post the procedure how pupils
can gather information from glossary and
dictionary.
How to use a Glossary:
1. Proceed to the end of the textbook and
look for the difficult word.
How to use a Dictionary:
1. Find the section of the dictionary with the
first letter of your word.
2. Read the guide words.
3. Scan down the page for your word.

How to use an Encyclopedia:


1. Look for the book volume number and/or
letter.
2. Find your subject within the volume.

C. Teaching / Modeling (I Do It)  Teacher will demonstrate to pupils on how to


gather information from glossary, dictionary
and encyclopedia.

D. Guided Practice (We Do It)  The pupils will recall the procedure in gathering
information from various sources through the
help of the teacher.
How to use a Glossary:

Group B – pupils who scored 1, 2 and 3


Look for the following words in the glossary of your book in English
1. wedge
2. crag
