1.0 Proposed Title

“Effect of Playing Mobile Legends to the Academic Performance of Grade 11 ICT

Programming Student of AMACC Fairview.”

2.0 Areas of Investigation

Playing Mobile Legends is one of the common activities that people do for their

leisure time. This has become more popular among teenager specially students

nowadays. The researchers, as fellow students, are eager to know how playing mobile

legends affect the academic performance of the students. The research entitled “Effect

of Playing Mobile Legends to the Academic Performance of Grade 11 ICT Programming

Student of AMACC Fairview” will be conducted in AMA Computer College Fairview

Branch.

3.0 Reasons of Conducting This Topic

The researcher choose this topic in order to know the effect of playing Mobile

Legends to the academic performance of Grade 11 ICT Programming students. The

researchers also choose this topic for they want to know if this online game affects the

academic performance of the students. This will seek answer to the significant

relationship between playing Mobile Legends and academic performance of the student.

This will enable the parents and teachers to know the reasons why students are

engaging their selves in playing Mobile Legends.

4.0 Importance of the Study

The importance of this study is to understand the positive and negative effect of

playing Mobile Legends and how it will affect their academic performance. The findings

of the study will be able to provide awareness and expand the knowledge about the

topic. This will also provide insights not only to students, but also to parents and

teachers on what will be the possible contribution of playing Mobile Legends to the

academic performance of the player.

5.0 Target Beneficiaries

Students

Students are the prone in playing Mobile Legends. This study will help the students

to know their limitations when it comes in playing mobile legends. It will enable them to

know the possible effect of playing mobile legends to their academic performance.

Parents

This research will be an essential tool for them to be fully aware of the possible

effect of playing mobile legends to the academic performance of their children’s, and to

inform them on how to limit their child

Teachers

This research will aid their questions and curiosity on why some of their students

are not able to focus in the class and the ways they can help to inform the students about

playing mobile legends. This will help them to understand if there is really an effect of

playing mobile legends to the academic performance of the students.

School

This research will contribute to the institution for resolving situations of the students.

Future Researchers

This will help future researchers to apply and deepen the knowledge of their

research.

6.0 Similarities of the Previous Study

The study scheme is related to the previous research entitled “The Effect of Playing

Mobile Legends to the Academic Performance of Grade 12 Information and

Communication Technology Student of Caloocan City Business High School” by Anderes,

T., et al., (2019). In relation to the proposed study, one of the problem that is tackled in

this research is the relation of playing mobile legends, academic performance and social

behaviour of the students and also finding out the positive and negative effect of playing
mobile legends to the academic performance of the students. The result of the study

found out that those students that is playing Mobile Legends improves their social skills.

Mobile Legends enables many players or student to engage their selves in real world

situation. The students develop skills from playing Mobile Legends that they can apply in

any problems.
