Yes Lance

First aid is vital for saving lives. A

person can carry out first aid after a
life-threatening incident or injury
before the arrival of emergency
services.
Correct!

First aid is the first and immediate

assistance given to any person
suffering from either a minor or
serious illness or injury, before the
arrival of emergency services.

In the first few days of an injury,

you must to remember the word
HARM.

Heat- any kind of heat will speed

up the circulation, resulting in
more swelling and longer recovery.

Alcohol- alcohol can increase

swelling, resulting to longer
recovery.

Running or other excessive

exercise- exercising can cause
further damage to the injured part.
Exercising also increase blood
flow, resulting to more swelling.

Massage- massage increase

swelling and bleeding into the
tissue, prolonging recovery time.
Class we have an acronym that we can
follow when applying first aid to those
who are injured.

P.R.I.C.E.D
Protection
